Baja 2 Bike Rack on Trunk

Wherever your destination, this rack will help get your bikes from point A to point B. The Baja safely carries one or two bikes on the trunk of your vehicle, meaning you won't need a hitch or have to lift bikes over your head to load them on a roof rack.

Adjustment Hubs and Six-Strap Attachment System

Baja Hubs

Two interlocking hubs with quick-release levers ensure a proper fit on your vehicle. Just flip the levers up to open the hubs, and unfold the base of the rack. Then place the rack on your trunk and adjust the base's support arms to the desired angle. To secure the base in that position, line up the teeth on each hub and push the levers back down. Then rotate the levers until the hubs are snug.

Six adjustable straps with rubber-coated metal hooks and cam buckles secure the Baja to your vehicle. And four foam pads on the rack's base help protect your car's finish from scratches.

Dual Arms

Baja Arms

Dual arms support your bikes and better accommodate women's, children's and alternative frames. (An adapter bar [HRBA-PRO - sold separately] may still be required.)

Anti-Sway Cradles

Baja Cradles

Rubber anti-sway cradles with straps firmly grip your bike's frame at three points to keep it from swaying front to back. This helps to keep your bikes from hitting each other and your vehicle during transit. The cradles rotate and slide along the arms, so you can easily adjust them based on the type and number of bikes you're transporting. And you can use the integrated safety strap to help keep your bikes tied down.

Folding Design

Baja Folded Up

When it's not in use, the Baja can easily be folded flat for storage.

A security strap and a cable lock (sold separately) are recommended to deter theft of the rack and your bikes.

Does not work that well. I purchased two racks, the one advertised as fortwo bikes and suited for my Mazda Miata was woefully misrepresented. No way could two bikes be placed on it. As a matter of fact from my experience one bike was all that could fit due to its poor design and furthermore the car is at risk for damage with scratches unless you did a few modifications and protected your car, a bike rack causing five times its value in damage to my prized vehicle is worthless. This Miata unit should not be advertised as for a Mazda, sadly it was poor.

Comments
When using a trunk mounted bike rack it can cause scratches to the vehicle if precautions are not taken. If the bikes are hanging too close to the vehicle, a bike adapter bar may be needed to help the bikes hang straight. Then staggering the bikes so that one faces one way and the other faces the other way will create more space. For a 2003 Mazda Miata I recommend installing hitch part # C11749
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4"
$258.88
and using a hitch mounted bike rack instead. Kuat makes a nice one, it is part # B202-114
Kuat Beta Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches - Tilting
$269.00
.

This is an excellent bike rack. It fits exceptionally well on my car and is easy to use. I am able to quickly and securely strap my bike onto the rack and go.

Comments
I continue to be very satisfied with my Hollywood bike rack. It goes on my car easily and efficiently without scratching my car. It holds my 2 bikes well. I am very happy with my choice of this rack and am glad to recommend it to others.

2010 Toyota Corolla

This product is excellent and is fairly easy to use. It secures my bikes well and I'm not afraid to drive anywhere on the poor bumpy potholed filled roads of Pennsylvania. My only concern is what do I do when the plastic straps used to hold the bikes wears out? Can I purchase replacement straps?

Comments
Replacement straps and cradles are available from Hollywood Racks. Check out part HR750-P.

This is my first bike rack, so I don't have anything else to compare to. It is pretty easy to use and set up. My one knock is that if you leave the rack on for a long time (months on end), dust and dirt can work it's way under some contact points and start to scuff your paint. Very minimally. I don't know of any way to avoid this short of taking the rack off more frequently - just sort of the nature of the beast. I also wish the red strap that prevents the tires from spinning during travel could be 6" longer.

2015 Scion xB

The Hollywood Racks Baja 2 (HRB2) appears to be a well engineered bicycle carrier. After installing and removing it three times, I have learned what works and what does not. I did have a problem with the sway device that limits fore and aft movement of my bicycle. It is integral with the device that the bicycle sits on. With the bike sitting on the rack with the front wheel on the drivers side as recommended in the instructions, there is no way the device will work without sliding the bike to the right which would throw much of the bike weight onto the right side of the rack. I don’t do that and, instead, bungee the front wheel to the rack frame which provides a solid anchor for the bicycle. I have not had a use for the second bicycle provision so I can’t provide any comment.

Quite well no complaints

Extremely easy to set up in SUV. (BMW X3) After setting the height, place clamps into metal of door (no plastics or carbon fiber), tighten straps and Voila! Place the bicycles (They’ll need an adjustable bar, which I knew).

Fits my 2006 Scion xB well, works great. Straps are a little long but well worth the price.

GMC Terrain

I would highly recommend the product HRB2 (Hollywood Racks Baja 2 Bike Carrier) from etrailer.com. The product is reasonably priced and easy to install. Most importantly it did not scratch or damage the rear trunk or bumper. The video supplied is also very informative regarding installing it. Finally and most importantly it worked as advertised without jarring or moving around on the rack. It was very stable over uneven and bumpy terrain. Highly recommend.

2013 Chevrolet Camaro

I was skeptical about mounting a bike carrier on my 2013 Camaro 1LE and etrailer.com helped me greatly. This carrier mounts very well. However the bottom straps have nowhere to clip to since the trunk lid is very shallow. After a call to their tech support line they assured me that the top and middle straps are all that's necessary since the weight of the bike does most of the work. After a test drive it stayed mounted as advertised.

Not only was their support awesome, once I paid for the order I received an email informing me of the order, that it shipped, and they upgraded me to the next shipping tier free of charge.

A great company to work with. Excellent customer service. A rarity these days.

Thank you etrailer.com!

Hollywood Bike Rack Baja 2 Bike Carrier (HRB2) - This is the first product that I have purchased from etrailer. From ordering to delivery, right through installation with concise instructions, my overall experience has been very positive. The bike carrier is strong and solidly built. Very good product!

by:

The bike rack is awesome but I never used it because I have grandsons whose bikes would not fit on the rack. Totally my fault… But I am keeping the rack for when the boys get a little older and bikes get a little bigger. All the best

by:
2012 Subaru Forester

First - Customer Service is FABULOUS! I accidentally placed the order twice and got a call the next day to confirm. It made quite an impression.

Second - Just put the rack on the car not half an hour ago. Very easy, appears to be very sturdy. Will made adjustments once the bikes are on, but my more experieced co-workers commented that it's a quality product.

Anyone I know that needs a rack & doesn't have one are going to be referred to this site.

Thanks all!! Great all around experience. I won't forget it.

Just popping in to let you know that I'm pleased with the performance of the equipment I purchased, everything went well.

by:

directions arent clear for hatchbacks or all window truck lids. hooks arent appropriate for glass lids.

Comments
When the Baja is used on a vehicle such as your Scion tC that has a full-glass rear hatch, it should be installed with the Hollywood Racks Hatch Anchors # HR44FR
Replacement Hatch Anchors for Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top Bike Rack - Qty 2
$15.00
. These anchors fit in the gap at the top of the hatch, providing a metal ring to attach the bike racks upper hooks to without the hooks contacting the window.

2013 Ford Fusion

I ordered the Hollywood Baja 2 bike rack for my 2013 Ford Fusion based on the recommendation of Pat C from etrailer.com. Pat was very professional and extremely helpful. The bike rack arrived two days after placing my order. I had issues finding a rack to fit my car but on other sites but this bike rack fit perfectly and was extremely easy to install. They have video's on their site that you can watch to help with installation. I would recommend etrailer.com with out hesitation and the Baja 2. Pat thanks for your help and assistance.

Product seems strong and secure. Good company to do business with, product is hard to get two bikes on as it is somewhat sleek in design. One bike is easy... Maybe it's my car?? Infinitti g37 coupe. --just have to fool around with setting it up

by:
K900

Product is excellent, however the anti-sway straps don't work on my vehicle, a Kia K900 because the tail lights don't provide a lip for the straps to hook around. Still works fine without, but I did pay more for this model because I liked the idea of the anti-sway feature.

by:
2012 Toyota Yaris

This bike rack fit very well on my Toyota Yaris. Sturdy, easy to use. The straps a quite long and require some managing, but overall I have no complaints.

For a reasonably priced trunk mounted bike rack that has anti-sway cradles I would recommend the Hollywood Racks Baja 2 Bike Carrier # HRB2. • Can Trunk Be Opened with Hollywood Racks Baja Installed
All trunk mount bike racks have to be removed from the vehicle prior to opening the hatch or trunk for several reasons. First, the hinges/struts that support a hatch or trunk are not rated for the additional weight. This can cause the hatch/trunk to fall unexpectedly. Second, opening the trunk/hatch with the rack on can affect the fit of the rack and it would most likely need to be readjusted so none of the straps come loose. And last, where hooks attach to the trunk/hatch, there is...

Both Baja Bike Racks are a fit for your vehicle.
