Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. and today we'll be taking a look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five LED Truck Cab Light Kit. Now this is going to be a match for the 2003 through 2004 Dodge factory roof lights, so if your truck didn't come with them, this is going to give you that sort of big rig look on the top of your Dodge so you can have some extra visibility. Make it little easier for other drivers to see you. Especially in fog or inclement weather.
If it's really pouring down, it always helps to have extra lights.This is going to be a pretty straight forward kit. We'll get our five lights to go on the top. They come with a rubber or a foam gasket that's going to help to seal up around that light so we don't have to worry about any seeping water getting into our roof.That being said, we will have to drill some holes in the top of your Dodge truck. It'll take about 15 holes to get everything installed. That's two per lights.
We'll have two anchor points and then another hole so we can let our wiring dropdown through. So I just want to let you know that right up front you are going to have to do a little bit of drilling, but once it's done it should look really nice and you shouldn't have any issues.Like I said, it does come with this gasket so it's going to keep most water out that way. The screws that come with our kit, they all have a little rubber O ring to help protect that point as well. So when you drop that hardware through, there is some protection underneath the head of that screw, so you don't have to worry about that too much.Now that being said, if it we're me, I would still probably get some silicone sealant just because you don't want to have any issues down the road. It's never a bad idea just to be doubly sure and put a drop in those two attachment points.
Then maybe in that third one as well where that wiring would drop down through. You can pick up silicone sealant here at etrailer.com if you don't already have some. This kit comes with the LED lights to go into our light housing. It also comes with the incandescent bulbs. Really this is just the exact same thing as the incandescent bulb kit, just with the addition of the LEDs.
If for some reason you wanted to switch it out to the incandescents, you can, or you can use those bulbs for something else. They're a number 194 bulb.It's a pretty common wedge style, incandescent bulb used in a lot of different things. But really once you have the LEDs there's not much point in using the incandescents since they tend to burn out then you got to replace them and get into all your stuff. If you got them, why not use the LEDs just insteadI'm going to show you the difference just in brightness, just for fun, since you do get both. To put our bulbs in place, it's pretty much the same thing. We'll take one of our little LED guys and then just push it into place in this housing. Something I like about these is that they, the housings themselves, they have kind of a rubbery texture.You got to really smoosh that guy in there. I think that rubbery texture helps to protect around the opening in that light. This just takes a quarter turn. You need to line up the tabs. Maybe a little hard for you to see. There's little tabs in the light housing and then all around the socket as well. Just match it up. Turn it a quarter of a turn and it should seal into place. That seals pretty well around there. Again, if you want to be extra double sure you could always put a little silicone sealant, although you want to be careful not to get too messy with it because you can see that socket on the inside. Some things to consider there.That's our incandescent, or excuse me, that's our LED. We're going to do the same thing for this one, but with an incandescent bulb. When you put these guys in there, if you find that it doesn't work, it's always a good idea to test it before you actually get it installed on your roof. If you find that it doesn't work, you might just need to flip it over to make sure that the contacts are in the right spot. Not too hard to do, but you just again, want to make sure you have it tested out before you actually have it drilled in place and then it's a whole big ordeal to get it off.Line that up, turn it into place. Our kit is going to come with a switch so we can run that in our cab so you have easy access to turn your lights on and off. But I have seen a lot of customers say that they actually wire this in with their running lights or their light circuit on their trucks so that whenever you turn on your running lights, it's ready to go right then and you don't have to worry about remembering to switch this on every time. So that's an option if you feel comfortable with making modifications to your vehicle's lights. Nothing's stopping you there.It does come with a fuse so you can make sure that everything's fuse protected. Then our wiring, red wire goes to power black goes to ground. This is a length of just red wire with a little spade connector to go to the back of our switch. Same thing with the fuse. It also has a spade to go to the other side of our switch.I'm going to connect this to my light so you can see incandescent first. Switch this guy on. It's on. Not terribly bright, but it's there. If we switch over to our LED, you'll see how much brighter that one's going to be.I liked this kit. It's pretty easy to use. You pretty much get everything you need. The only thing that I would switch out would maybe be the quick splice connectors. They work just fine, but if you don't get them crimped down really tightly, they can open up and cause some issues down the road. So I would suggest using some insulated butt connectors. You can also upgrade to even heat shrinks since those will give you a watertight connection. They just tend to last longer and be a little bit more secure connection.Here we have our LED lit up. It's actually not that much brighter than our incandescent bulb. But again, thing that's going to be nice is that we'll never have to really change this out. This one, after a while, that film, it's going to go bad. You're going to have to change it out so you don't have to worry about that with the LEDs.Now that we've looked at what comes in the kit, let's go over some measurements. Our light housing from front to back is about five and a half inches long. It kind of tapers towards the back end there. At the widest point, it's about three and an eighth inch, just over three inches wide. The narrower point, just for reference, it's about two and three quarters. The height coming off of the roof is just about one and three quarters inches with this gasket in place. Of course, this does have a little bit of squish and once you get that fully tightened down, it'll probably be a little bit smaller than that, so maybe one and a half inches instead.You do want to make sure that you get that nice and tightened down since once this gasket is depressed, that's going to do a better job of sealing up the bottom of this light.It does come with a 60 day limited warranty from Pacer. We'll have our clear lens over that amber LED. Same thing for the incandescent bulb. It's the amber light inside there.That's about going to do it for our look at the Pacer Performance Hi-Five Truck Cab light kit. I hope this video is helpful in making your purchasing decision.

Wiring and hardware included.fairly quick shipping..my truck has never had lights...but have installed them on every truck I've owned ( 4 ), This is my 5th. Everything was in the box. It even came with little washers for the screw heads. I used silicone just in case. I was very skeptical of the supplied ground wires but they all worked!!.. I decided on the old style bulbs this time. Might switch if they don't last then I will go to the LED's. I used a different toggle switch than the one supplied. Really like the set so far. I have never seen a truck like mine with cab lights. Maybe others will try it now?
Look good on the truck, one of the center lights became loose so it was not making great contact and therefore was out. I got it working again, but it was a hassle taking the light off the truck to just spin the light a little bit.
The cab lights I ordered came in a timely manner and they were oem quality!
Great product, I replaced existing lights with these. Hole pattern was exactly the same as my old lights. I had two issues not related to the product. My old lights only had one wire through the cab. They had a jumper wire that went from bulb socket to mounting screw for the light.
As far as replacing existing lights goes, this product is great.
For a complaint, the instructions nor video showed me what the little rubber washers were for. Since there were 10 of these I assumed they were for the mounting screws. I used mine for lens cover screws.
I also used silicone under foam pad, on top of foam pad, on mounting screws, and after install was complete I added it at base of lens and around base of light. All not needed but cant hurt to keep water out.
Definitely reccomend this companies products.
The Pacer Performance High-5 lights on my 1992 Ford F350 are high quality. They fit the original screw holes perfectly. The LED lights are bright. The wire connectors were different, but that was no problem. I cut off the connectors and used crimp-on connectors, then taped the connections securely with electrical tape.
One year on, these lights are holding up very well. Installation was pretty simple, I did have to break out a drill to enlarge the factory holes - I believe the factory lights used sheet metal screws to attach to the top of the cab through the lens and these use a metal stud attached to the light base with a nut that tightens from inside the cab (it's been a year and my memory is fuzzy). Outwards though these lights look completely stock. They sealed well and I've experienced no issues with water leaks. 100% suggest these to anyone wanting to replace or upgrade their stock lights to LED while retained the OE look.
They look great! Pretty simple install, everything you need is included and the easy splice makes it even easier to wire everything together. They give you 6, so I just used the last one to tap into my headlights and they turn on automatically whenever those are on. LED’s are pretty bright and that’s what I went with, but they also give you the classic bulbs to choose from as well. 4 stars for now just to see how they hold up!
Lights and everything arrived quickly, everything needed was in the packaging. The only thing I did differently was I wired the lights into my existing light switch instead of a separate switch, just bought 16 gauge wire from hardware store. I added some t10 LED lights which look awesome at night! During the day LED or incandescent bulbs are not very visible anyway. Overall awesome product!

The lights were purchased as replacement for the existing lights already on the truck, so all the hard work of drilling the holes and running the wiring was already done. What little installation I had to do was fairly easy, and simple. The lights match the originals exactly and you can't tell them apart from the old ones. The package was shipped promptly and arrived undamaged within a few days. Bought these lights about a year ago and they look and work great! The lighting makes a perfect red and they are very bright as well, but that can depend on the bulbs you decide to use. Easy installation too!
Great lights looks amazing on my GMC, i could not be happier. I had the installed as no one wants me wiring anything. The LED bulbs are nice and bright. I would recommend these lights to anyone.
Lights exactly as described. Package came with both LED bulbs and incandescent bulbs. Easy to install. I watched the installation video which was very helpful. I only installed 4 as my vintage truck has a middle rotating beacon.
The smoked lens look great! On my 2017 black 3500 RAM. Install took about 45 minutes. LED bulbs need to go the right way to work. Shipping was quick, and thanks to Jason and everyone at etrailer for making the ordering process easy.
Straightforward install. Worst part was dropping the headliner. Tapped into the power source at passenger side kick panel in my 97 Ford. Very happy with my purchase.
Had these lights on my truck for a year now and they work great the installation was pretty easy. I installed them on my ram 1500
These have only been on for a few days but they seem to be a very reliable option if your truck needs cab lights. Straight forward install and I was pleased to find out the bases and lenses are molded of a nice poly plastic. I was worried the bases would be weak and flimsy. I ordered two sets, one set for a 2000 f350 that never had cab lights, and a second set for a 2002 f350 that already had cab lights but were aged and weathered. I was able to get my drilling dimensions from one truck and just transfer over to the other. Simply dropped the headliner, marked my holes on masking tape, drilled holes, mounted lights, and ran wiring down to behind my headlight switch tapped into the running lights wire. I did go the extra mile and added some silicone around my bolt and wire holes for a little extra insurance prior to putting the headliner back in place. I was a little intimidated to start with but after all said and done I would have no issue doing this over again on multiple trucks. I'm not a professional mechanic by trade, just handy enough to do my own exhaust, stereo, and lighting installs as well as oil changes etc. These cab lights can be installed by novice wrench turners. etrailer does however need to update their website pictures though. The updated version of these lights have studs molded into the bases so they are held on by a nut and washer from inside the cab. The pictures on etrailer must be a previous version that were fastened by sheet metal style screws screwed in from the topside. Pacer Performance website shows the proper product, etrailer should make that a priority to follow suit and update their literature. The molded studs is a much better design! Kudos Pacer Performance!

Very well made cab lights. My only suggestion would be to buy a better set of led bulbs and swap them before installation. I had bulbs that burnt out after 9 months.
Excellent product. Very good price. The replacement marker lights were almost an identical match to the original lights on my 1983 Ford F150. A very easy install. The truck looks great! Purchasing the lights on line with etrailer.com was a snap. I'm very happy so far with the service, product, and follow up.
