Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

Installation was relatively easy and straightforward. I haven't noticed a huge difference in ride quality yet but I haven't towed anything since installing them. I will edit my review as soon as I am able to put the sumo springs under a heavier load or find the time to get off road.

GMC Sierra

Nothing bad on etrailer part. The product is ok. It does affect the unloaded ride. I have a 2021 GMC Sierra. All stock suspension. I added in the 1” spacers. If you hit a bump there is a noticeable stop when making contact on the spring. However without the spacer it allows the truck to squat more than I want and trailer is not level. I prefer the airbag as I had on my last truck. When weather breaks I’ll probably do that. Don’t really feel this is worth the money. I wouldn’t buy again.

by:
2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

I haven't installed these yet, but it looks fairly straightforward. I can see how they'll help with sag when I use my equipment trailer with substantial tongue weight.

2024 GMC Sierra

I tow a 24' travel trailer with 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Without Sumo Springs the ride could get bouncy on interstate. With Sumo Springs the ride was not bouncy and the truck seemed to have better control of the travel trailer. Definitely a good purchase and product to meet my needs.

by:

Product is great! Paid for next day delivery and it came 2 days later which I wasn’t thrilled about but made it work in time for my trip. Love and always order from etrailer.

by:

Installed these today on my 2020 Silverado Z71 4WD w/3.0 Duramax. Pretty straight forward installation. Took longer to find the right length extension than to install one side. I opted to leave the supplied spacer out at this time...it has an approx. 1/2" gap at the bottom. I'll tow my boat first to see if I need to add the spacer. Boat dropped the rear end approx. 2" before adding these springs. I appreciate the option to install the spacer without needing to order one later. I will update this after I see if the spacer is needed.

by:

Too short. Even with the 1” spacer. Rear leafs compress 2” before the sumos even make contact. Another 1/2” and I’m already squatting. Did nothing to reduce sag. Stock 2020 Chevrolet 1500 WT. 2wd.

I contacted the manufacturer and showed them your photos. It is very rare, but your truck is taller than most. They will send you a taller spacer.

by:

Work great!!!! Super easy install. Took me 20 minutes to install both springs. They reduced the sag on my Silverado by a little over an inch when hooked up to our RV.

by:
2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Haven't used them on this truck but have used them on other trucks. I'm sure they will work as designed just like the other ones

by:
2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Have not made a rv trip yet. But when I make long curve at high speed , I can feel my truck leaning and then it firms up when the Sumo contacts the bump stop.

by:
2020 GMC Sierra 1500

Firmed up rear suspension without sacrificing smooth ride. Loctite was missing in shipment, it great customer service worked with to to send credit for the purchase I made. Great company!

by:

Did the trick. Raised the truck enough to level it out when pulling our unit. Did have to use all the height to do this, but it seems to be working well.

by:

Solved the problem on my 1/2 ton pickup

by:
2019 Chevrolet Silverado

Installed these SumoSprings on my 2019 Silverado RST 4x4 to help reduce bounce/sway when towing a small travel trailer. Very easy and fast installation (less than an hour total) and a perfect fit. Haven't towed trailer yet, but did hook up trailer and found the SumoSprings reduced truck rear sag by about an inch. Believe this will be a big improvement over stock bumpstops.

After using the SumoSprings for a year now, I found them to very helpful when towing either my travel trailer or boat. Rear sag on the truck is reduced about an inch and towing is much more stable with reduced bounce. Excellent product.

by:

great addition, helps minimize sqatting when loaded, esp. since i put 2" leveling kit in front. Easy install.

by:

My travel trailer pulls a lot better now. The SumoSprings reduce squat, reduce sway, and improve steering and handling. The ride is smooth too. They were really easy to install. You'll thank yourself for buying them.

by:

Best place to buy parts and accessories. Excellent customer service! (Shout out to Christian). This company goes above and beyond. Fast shipping.

Summo springs came well packaged and included all parts. Took less than a hour to install. Based off of my setup on my 2019+ Chevrolet Silverado RST with RAS already installed, I did not use the 2” spacer. The summo springs helped my rear sag issue when having max cargo capacity inside the truck and pulling a 7200 pound travel trailer on a 5 hour trip.

Great product. Works as expected.

by:

I've had this part before on my older truck. This is the cheapest I found it at. And the delivery was lightning fast. Great looking out for your customers. They message me asking if my package was delivered good. Keep up the great work.

by:

I have used these for a year and still going strong. They work great. I can connect my 20ft boat and doesn’t squat the back of the truck much at all. Also when pulling the camper it takes the bounce out. Cheaper and easier than air bags

by:
GMC Sierra

Really improved my ability to trailer my boat. Took away the bouncy bounce of the wimpy stock springs on my GMC Sierra. Made every day driving a better experience when cornering and hitting bumps.

by:
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Can’t go wrong with these helper springs! They work really well for me, with hauling heavy equipment on trailers. Great product, great service and fast shipping.

Perfect, you should have a 1/2" to 1" of space between the spring and the axle when empty for a comfortable ride.

by:

Fast shipping and installed within 45 minutes so far the ride has stiffened up while unloaded but not bad I did use the spacers and they pretty much about touch the rear end when unloaded but so far happy with them have not pulled the camper yet

  • What Timbren Rear Suspension Springs Fit a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500?
The Timbren Suspension Enhancement System # T28MR is the kit which will fit your 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Do understand this is a very heavy duty spring with a weight capacity of 8,600lbs. This will most likely give you a less than desirable ride quality. Instead I recommend checking out the SumoSprings in a 1,000LB # SS65FR or 1,500LB # SS45FR capacity. These are much more inline with the weight capacities of your Sierra. And as these are a progressive material it will not be as harsh of...

The SumoSprings are progressive so they will help to absorb the bounce that the suspension is having when you go over bridges. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SS65FR are confirmed to fit your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. However, I would not recommend them. Since the AT4 has a 2" lift, the SumoSprings would likely be ineffective unless you are experiencing a lot of sag under a heavy load.
