Rear Suspension Support

Towing or hauling a heavy load can cause rear sag as your factory suspension compresses under the weight of the load. This means that the rear axle is trying to support not only the extra load but also the weight of your vehicle. And because there is less weight on your front axle, your front tires make less contact with the road, which causes problems with traction, steering, and braking. SumoSprings upgrade your vehicle's factory suspension to level your vehicle, improve driving performance, and keep your ride comfortable.

Installed spring when it is not compressed

SumoSprings provide progressive load control - the more you load them, the stiffer they become. With a lighter load, the springs will compress easily for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride. The closed-cell urethane material allows for smooth contact between the springs and your vehicle. And the springs act like a shock absorber to dampen road vibration.

Installed spring when it is compressed

The springs can also compress by as much as 80 percent to support a heavy rear load and to help your factory suspension bear up under the load. This evens out the weight, which levels your vehicle and ensures that your front tires are making better contact with the road. A level ride means that you have improved driving control, ensures safe headlight aim, and helps to minimize sway. The springs also support your factory suspension, which helps prevent sagging and reduces bottoming out.

The springs work independently from one another to support each side of your vehicle. This action helps to reduce body roll when you make a sharp turn. This also helps compensate for an off-center load.

Durable, Custom-Fit Springs

These microcellular urethane springs are tough. They resist abrasion, oil, salt, and UV rays that can more quickly wear out other springs, and they perform well in temperatures ranging from -25 F to 200 F (-33 C to 93 C).

SumoSprings compress vertically with minimum expansion to the sides, so they won't be damaged by nearby mechanical parts and they fit safely into tighter spots. And unlike air springs, SumoSprings require no maintenance or adjustment.

The helper springs are custom designed to fit your vehicle, and they install easily - no drilling required.

  • Is SumoSprings or RoadActive Suspension Better For 2008 Toyota Tundra
For your 2008 Toyota Tundra, between the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-610-54 and the RoadActive Suspension (RAS) Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS4611TD, the better overall system is the RAS # RAS4611TD. The reason for that is the RAS is an active system which continually reinforces your Tundra's original leaf spring suspension. The force normally put on its leaf springs, either when carrying cargo or towing a trailer like you are, gets transferred to the RAS Enhancement...

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2016 Toyota Tundra Towing Dump Trailer
Since you want support, ride quality, and would prefer an economical price the SumoSprings Solo kit part # SSR-610-54 would be exactly what you want for your 2016 Toyota Tundra. This is the best blend of the things you are wanting and will do a great job overall! I attached an install video for more info as well.

  • Recommended Helper Springs for 2012 Nissan Titan Pro-4X
I'm really glad you asked because we only have one confirmed fit for the Pro-4x model. It is the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System - Rear Axle # TNRTTNB which is a jounce style enhancement rated for 6,000 lbs load support. It will give you a progressive support as it provides additional support as needed to increase stability while reducing body roll and vehicle sag. It will not change the factory ride when not hauling a load, but will engage as needed for payload and towing.

  • Recommended Air Helper Springs For A 2018 Toyota Tundra With 2 Inch Lift
I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2445 for your 2018 Toyota Tundra. I like these air bags over the others that we offer because they're constructed of stronger material and have a better quality. These air bags have a 4,800 pound capacity and have an adjustable air pressure between 5 psi to 100 psi. I have added a cut out from Firestone which details the measurement you need to take in order to find the correct spacer. For example, if you installed the Ride-Rites...

  • Recommended SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for 5th Wheel Towing with a 2021 Toyota Tundra
If you're interested in the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for towing a fifth wheel trailer with your 2021 Toyota Tundra then I recommend the part # SSR-610-54 as they have the highest capacity (2,800 lbs) of the other SumoSprings. I really like the SumoSprings but I do feel there is a better option for your truck and what you're doing, the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2445. The reason being that they will provide more support than the SumoSprings and the support...

  • Firestone Air Bag Helpers for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner
We do have the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2407 that will fit your 2006 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner. Please note that your axle will need to be located below the leaf spring pack for this to fit. You might also be interested in an air compressor kit like the Air Command I # F2158 because this allows you to monitor and adjust your air bags on the fly. If your axle is not located below your leaf spring pack then I recommend installing the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs...

  • Recommended SumoSpring For a 2014 Nissan Frontier
This will depend on how much support is needed when you are towing. That being said, however, as you do not tow too much, I recommend going with the blue SumoSprings # SSR-610-40. This will still add up to 1,000 pounds of support, but will affect the ride less when not towing than a more heavy duty set up. The material used in these gets stiffer and more dense the higher the capacity goes, so a higher rated one will stiffen the ride when towing, but also when unloaded. The # SSR-610-40...

  • Recommended SumoSprings for a 2011 Toyota Tundra SR5
So long as the suspension in the rear of your Tundra has not be modified, I recommend the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SSR-610-54. These have a 2,800 lbs capacity that will keep the rear end level when you have your truck weighted down. This system replaces your factory bump stops. If the back of your trucks suspension has been modified you'll want to use the SumoSprings item # SS48DR instead.

  • Comparing the Timbren Suspension Enhancement to other Helper Springs Options for 2007 Tundra
For your 2007 Toyota Tundra, I highly recommend the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TTORTUN4. The Timbren springs will be much more durable than the Air Lift AirCell Custom Helper Springs Kit which was discontinued. The durability will result in more support and a longer life. The Timbren have also produced much greater feedback from our customers and are currently one of the most popular suspension enhancements we carry. I have attached a review video of the Timbrens...

  • Comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for The Rear Suspension of a 2021 Toyota Tundra
The main difference when comparing Timbren and SumoSprings for suspension enhancement is going to be the weight capacities. Timbren uses hollow rubber springs that is able to support more weight but they can cause a firmer ride. The SumoSprings are made of a durable microcellular urethane that will progressively increase capacity as the spring is compressed. This will offer a smoother ride as the springs will better absorb the shock but they do not offer the capacity and stability of the...

  • Troubleshooting Super Spring Adding Too Much Height to Rear of 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4x4
A picture did come through so I attached it. For your 2012 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 the proper fit is the SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA19. If you used the # SSA7 springs you asked from that would most likely be the issue as that is a fit for 1987-2004 Dodge Dakota trucks or 1993-1998 Toyota T100 pickups. Having the improper fit is most likely the issue and they cannot be re-arched to fit. Your other option is to use a jounce style spring instead. For...

  • Can You Install Both SuperSprings and SumoSprings on a 2016 Toyota Tundra
I do have an option for but SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs like part # SSR-610-54 and SuperSprings Custom Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit part # SSA4 won't work together on a 2016 Toyota Tundra since they both mount in the same location. • Comparing Timbren and SumoSprings For a 2021 Toyota Tundra
You are correct that the 7,000lb rating of the Timbren Helper Springs # T62FR and 2,800lb rating of the SumoSprings # SSR-610-54 is pretty different. For your 2021 Toyota Tundra I recommend going with the # SSR-610-54 as they are made out of a softer material so when you are driving the truck unloaded you will not have a stiff and bouncy ride like the Timbrens are notorious for. With that said the 2,800lb rating of the SumoSprings is actually higher than the payload rating of your truck...

  • Difference Between Timbren and SumoSpring Jounce Springs for a 2021 Toyota Tundra
The biggest difference between the Timbren and SumoSpring jounce-style springs is that the Timbrens tend to be a bit more stiff which is great for heavier loads but can make the unloaded ride on your 2021 Toyota Tundra a bit more harsh. The SumoSprings tend to have a softer ride which makes them great for occasional cargo loads but they have less of a weight rating. Since suspension enhancement kits just offer support and don't actually increase your weight capacity it basically boils...

You wouldn't notice the difference and the lower capacity option will save you a few dollars. The item # SSR-610-47 are confirmed to fit your 2001 Tundra. The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs - Rear Axle # SSR-610-54 you were looking at would be a great maintenance free option to support the rear suspension of your 2007 Nissan Titan when towing your 8000lb boat trailer. The # SSR-610-54 has a 2800lb load rating and since you are only have 750lbs tongue weight this kit would offer plenty of support. • Differences Between SumoSprings Kits for 2013 Toyota Tundra
The difference between the two SumoSprings Solos kits for your 2013 Toyota Tundra is the weight capacity for either.
