Whether you're hauling heavy loads in your bed or cargo area or towing a trailer, you will often see the rear of your vehicle sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but also more of the vehicle's weight. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.
The Timbren system comes with custom-fit brackets that are bolted onto each frame rail above your rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the leaf spring sits, 1" above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.
Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping your vehicle level.
Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's-side or passenger's-side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you are hauling off-center loads.
Because your vehicle handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer and this helps to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or a passing semi) because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to your vehicle. This also works to make the sway subside more quickly.
Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Timbren's Suspension Enhancement Systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. And more elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

6,000-lb Capacity. These hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your vehicle. They also provide a more comfortable ride by absorbing road shock and improving roll stability. Easy to install and use.Good product so far, works as expected on my 2013 Suburban LTZ w/ air ride suspension. A little difficulty installing them... but got them in securely the second try. First time around I was too eager and didn’t clean the cup side on the vehicle well enough so the Timbren didn’t sit in the receiving cup all the way. Second time I cleaned the cup with parts cleaner and wiped with a rag. Next I sprayed white lithium grease On both the receiving side and the Timbren to help it slide into place. Also, on the second time around I installed it initially on a slight angle (see picture) so that when I set the vehicle down with some 2x4s under the Timbren to push it into place it went in level. First time I tried to install them straight in and not on an angle which caused them to get pushed into the cup on an angle. That’s why I had to pull them and try again. Worked like a charm after spending the time to clean everything and grease them.
After installing them the vehicle sits with about 1” of airspace between the Timbren and the axle stop.
These helped stabilize and assist the factory air ride system on our 2015 Yukon XL when pulling a heavier load. But you give up the soft cushy daily ride comfort. Trade off works for me but maybe not for others.
My Chevy Avalanche has 68k miles. Because it has coil springs, whenever I hooked my camper trailer to it the back would drop so low that I had to jack up the truck and trailer in order to connect equalizer bars. The original bump stops where cracked and breaking off on the ends. Timbren device went in easily once I lowered the vehicle down with a block of wood.
It’s a definite improvement over stock equipment. Two trips out west, one with stock and one with Timbren suspension. Gas station pic is with Timbren, mountain background with stock suspension. Suburban handles better now, even without a trailer. Still, it doesn’t handle great with wind gusts, but likely that’s because it’s a cute SUV and isn’t a heavy duty truck.
Work fine. Seems to alleviate some sag in the rear when towing travel trailer.
Really not sure it's doing anything. No noticeable difference when towing my camper.
Bought the timbren rear suspension bump stops to help with rear sag in our 2011 Suburban. We pull a 6000 lb travel trailer. Half way through our 8000 mile trip out west, the automatic leveling system failed. Dealer wanted $xxxx. to fix. Decided to finish the trip Without the repair. No issues. Actually we still haven’t repaired the leveling system and taken two additional trips to Florida and North Carolina. Need I say more. The Timbren stops work great.
Just installed these yesterday. very tight fit but I guess that is the way they are designed. MUCH stronger than the factory version which were very flimsy. Picking up my new 7400 pound travel trailer on Thursday. I am anticipating these are going to make my ride much smoother and safer.
I have used etrailer several times and they have the best customer service I have ever experienced. Great Web Site!!
I installed the Timbren Aeon Spring System Vehicle Suspension a year ago. It took about 20 minutes to do the whole installation. I'm really impressed with the overall construction. It didn't negatively impact the ride and I can now put anything I want in the bed of the truck, while hauling a travel trailer, with no concerns.
Recieved the part's in a timely manner and installed them, but they were not has easy to install, has some of the review's said. They were very hard to get set in the cup's square. Pulled a travel trailer with them on and could'nt say there was any improvement's in the handling on a 1500 suburban.
The product was definitely high quality but it did not resolve sagging issue as suggested. It would be nearly impossible for the truck to sag far enough for these to make contact with the axle. Very expensive no fix.
Built to last.
Easily installed on my '08 suburban.
Not sure if they are going to do what I was made to think they'd do.
I believe there will still be a sag in our suburban.
I have my doubts due to the large space between the Timbrens and the axle.
I installed them for a 5,000 mile trip we will be taking next week. We are a family of 6, we will have the suburban packed inside and on top, we will be pulling a 2500+- lbs pop up trailer from eastern PA to Idaho and back.
Also think they are a little salty for the simplicity of the product.
The true test will be on the road.
As Advertised. Gave me the extra margin of needed suspension capability to comfortably tow a 4500 GVW travel trailer over varying road conditions with my 2010 Chevy Suburban 1500.
The Etrailer video showing how to install these bumpers was very helpful. I had these installed on my 2010 Yukon in about 1 hour. A suggestion to make install easier - after removing the factory bumpers clean the pocket that the bumper presses into and apply a thin coating of dish soap to the leading edge of the new bumper. That will aid in getting the new bumper seated easier.
Turned my Suburban into a true truck. Also added a weight distribution hitch. The combination of the two products doubled my hauling capability and totally stabilized the dump trailer I haul. Heavy loads in soft sand at dirt/sand lots are no problem. I could not be happier.
I used these on my 2002 Chevy Suburban, made a little different but not allot. For the price you would expect the difference, but I didn't. Pulling a auto trailer
AS advertised, used a wooden block and the vehicles weight to press in. A small amount of liquid dish soap also helps . Much stiffer than the original, will find out in two weeks when traveling west with the trailer attached. A+ so far.
A few days before we were were scheduled to leave on our RV trip, we did our usual pre-trip vehicle and trailer inspection. When we hooked up our RV to our vehicle, we noticed it was sagging way more than we thought was safe- and we were not sure if there was a product out there that would help. The etrailer staff had the answers we needed in order to purchase the correct product, which thus far has indeed reduced the sagging.
The service we received from etrailer staff was second to none! When one etrailer staff person didn't know the answer to some of our specific questions, she quickly told us and referred us to another etrailer staff person who she said would call us back. A knowledgeable etrailer staff person did indeed return our call and provided us with the information we needed to place our order-and our call was returned just minutes before the etrailer service office closed! Our order was placed that same day and we received it within a couple of days. Because of this excellent service, we did not have to cancel our trip! Thank you etrailer!
So far they look great. I will put on this weekend and see how they work with my travel trailer.
Quick shipment! Easy install. Affordable option for your haulin needs. Would order again from this place. Very quick shipment. Thank you and the box was in tack great shipping packing.
It was easy to install, once I pulled up a youtube and watched it. Simply cut a 10" 2x4 and use it as a wedge to push the Timbren in, but jacking up the axle to get closer to the Timbren. It is easy this way.
Very satisfied with the results, and the customer service. The first set were. incorrect. After calling etrailer, they got the correct one right out to me.
Product has worked flawlessly for 1 year. Install was a breeze, especially with the video and other DIY help on the etrailer site!
Fits great, easy to install. They were installed on 2010 chevy Avalanche with rear air springs
compared to factory very satisfied on the materials provided, made a difference on the sag of my suburban when loading the trailer.
