Get improved handling with minimal sway and body roll for your vehicle with this suspension enhancement kit. Stainless steel StableLoad pads feature quick-disconnects and a hinged design so you can easily return to your original ride when not towing.
Features:
The lower factory overload springs on your truck are designed to help compensate for a large payload. When you are hauling a heavy load, your truck's standard leaf springs can't always counteract the weight of it. As a result, if you hit a bump when your suspension is fully loaded, the leaf springs will give and cause your truck to bottom out. The overload springs help keep this from happening by mounting beneath the leaf springs to provide points of contact for the stressed springs.
There is natural gap between your truck's standard leaf springs and its lower overload springs. This gap allows the upper leaf springs to flex a bit before making contact with the overload springs, but having this gap creates a situation where bounce (or jounce) often occurs. StableLoads are designed to fill the gap between your standard springs and your overload springs. This pre-activates the overload springs, ensuring that they are engaged from the start instead of engaging only when your leaf springs make contact, at which point you've probably already felt the jarring.
By enhancing your lower overload springs in the way described above, you will notice less sway and body roll. This is due to the pre-loading effect of the StableLoads, which helps to better distribute the weight of your payload over the entirety of your factory suspension. This is the primary difference between StableLoads and many air bag overload systems.
With air bag suspension enhancement, the load in your truck is being taken on by the air bags. Air bags are designed to level your truck, and they operate as intended when they're under a normal load. But if you are hauling or towing a particularly heavy load, this type of suspension enhancement can create some problems. In order to get the correct amount of leveling and to ensure that your suspension won't bottom out, you will likely have to fill the air bags to a very high psi. Doing this effectively removes the load from your factory suspension. As a result, your truck's suspension is no longer able to operate as it was designed. This can lead to handling issues, such as porpoising, sway, or body roll.
If you currently have this problem with your air bag system, you can add StableLoads to your suspension and get the best out of both products. StableLoads are effective on their own, but they've also been tested with aftermarket air bag suspension systems. The two enhancements work particularly well together if you have a heavy payload. By installing StableLoads between your lower overload springs and your standard leaf springs, you are already adding support to your suspension to help prevent bottoming out, which air bags work to prevent as well. As a result, you won't have to fill the bags nearly as full, which means that they won't take as much of the load off of your factory suspension, thus allowing your suspension to function as designed - only better.
Quick Disconnect
These StableLoads can be quickly and easily engaged and disengaged. The quick-disconnect design allows you to pivot the wedge pack - the piece that sits between the springs - in and out of position with a standard ratchet and 3/8" extension (not included). As a result, you can get a stable load when you're weighted down and then return to your regular ride when you're done hauling.
Tested and Proven Winner
TorkLift's StableLoads were tested against vehicles with no suspension enhancement and vehicles with air bags that were inflated to 100 lbs; and the results are clear. By adding StableLoads to your suspension your vehicle will ride smoother, causing less wear and tear on your suspension and tires. The trucks that were tested were loaded with 2,800 lbs. The degree of movement was then recorded, using an inclinometer, when the trucks encountered the 3 most common types of handling problems: side-to-side sway, porpoising, and body roll.
Side-to-side sway is triggered when your vehicle encounters uneven ground, such as a pot hole, and the suspension gives way when it cannot counteract the weight of the heavy load being carried. This creates a side-to-side bouncing motion. As you can see in the graph above, air bags provide an advantage over no suspension upgrades. But the StableLoads offer dramatic improvement over both the standard suspension and the air bag suspension.
Porpoising is the rising and falling action your vehicle makes when driving over an object like a speed bump. Having too much bounce can make you feel like you're riding in the back of a school bus. As you can see in the graph, there is virtually no difference in porpoising between trucks with standard suspension systems and those with air bags. Only the StableLoad offers improvement for this type of problem.
Body roll occurs when your heavy load transfers unevenly as you navigate a turn, causing one side of your vehicle to lean dramatically. In some cases this can lead to your truck's tires coming off of the ground and it could even cause your vehicle to roll over if it is too top heavy. Again, according to the graph above, air bags offer no help with this problem. It is only with the StableLoads that stability improves.

Get improved handling with minimal sway and body roll for your vehicle with this suspension enhancement kit. Stainless steel StableLoad pads feature quick-disconnects and a hinged design so you can easily return to your original ride when not towing.Thank you for package tracking and very quick delivery! I also appreciate the videos provided on your website that help to better explain how the StableLoad system works on the lower overload leaf spring, and how the stack of plates should be setup with the bolts and washers, etc. Thank you!
For a future video idea for the StableLoad product: could you have an an overload spring removed from a vehicle (from a Ford F150 for example), and then show close ups of how the StableLoads should be attached? That would be very helpful for the customer to confirm they have them installed correctly. Just an idea....
Adding the Tork Lift stable load suspension really helped my truck from sagging when I load up the in-bed camper. The ride is smooth and the truck handles very well. The installation was generally easy and the instructions were spot on. I highly recommend these if you want a stable ride and no sagging.
I purchased this item to use on my 1999 Chevrolet Silverdo 1500 which I suspect had spent most of it's life hauling a fifth wheel trailer all over America. The springs seemed weak so I first tried installing coil over shocks on the rear. These proved to be defective and instead of going that route again I found Stableload. The installation was simple and quick and I am happy with the results. I leave the Stableloads in full time because I find my truck to be much more stable with less roll on curves and corners. I believe I have much better control of my truck during my daily commute over a rough, twisty backroad.
This product has met my needs, it is simple to use. I installed them on my F250 and I pull a 37' bumper pull RV. My only complaint is that sometimes when disengaging the Torklifts they can be wedged pretty tight, I use a pry bar to spread the springs to help with this.
Fantastic. I found a local shop to install them on my 2017 Colorado Diesel for 2 hours of labor. The difference was amazing. Previously I felt my boat was going to push me off of the road. With the TorkLift installed I am much more relaxed. It seems my truck is more relaxed too because I saw a 2mpg increase while towing.
I didn't realize that to disengage them it would require me to jack up the truck, but they are not bothersome driving around town while engaged.
So glad I bought these. I feel like it saved me from purchasing a new truck.
Installed the torklift stable load suspension kit on my Ford F-150. Was very easy to do following the instructions included or directly from the website. Once installed solved all of my suspensions sway by lifting the load and putting more weight on the front wheels. Immediately corrected the steering problems and distributed the load evenly so the truck was level. They are also very easy to engage or disengage from the leaf springs. No more airbags, or air shocks for me.
Performing as designed. Reduced sway and porpoise. Tip from Etrailer staff: had to use a small crowbar to spread the leaf springs during installation.
The stable loads function as advertised.
By engaging the overload spring the rear of my truck has almost zero squat when I load my camper. I belong to several online camper forums. Most of the members seem to push air bag, but constantly complain issues. The stable loads have functioned well and my trucks suspension works as designed.
Stableloads have helped tremendously with sway
I received yesterday but need better packaging for the parts, I opened box and 100’s of screws, washers, bolts etc were loose. The ziploc baggie is not sufficient for all these parts. I will spend today trying to see if they are all there… there was plenty of gap in the shipping box for these to fall out. I’ll be surprised if they are all there. 2 star for packaging.

Goodness, I will share this review with our shipping department. Customer service will be in touch to make sure that you have received everything.
I thank you guys for installation videos and the ease at which things can be installed. I thank you also for great customer seervice and support. The TorkLift Stabilizers work incredibly well and I am very happy for what little effort it took to install them!
Work very well, add air to air bags then engage them and release air. Very easy to use and a real noticeable difference
I am totally satisfied with the way the product installed and how it performs on my 2018 Ram 3500 dually with the Lance 1172 slide in camper on it. Would totally recommend it.
The torklift stable loads are easy to install, easy to engage and disengage as well. When I tow my 33 ft. 8000 lb travel trailer the engage the overload leaf springs and help to keep me le el.
I don’t notice that much of a difference with these. Although I did notice a reduction in left to right sway when they were engaged. I was originally running these with 5000lb air springs. We had so much porpoising when towing that I thought my wife was going to jump out of the truck on the highway. We tried all levels of air pressure to no avail. I took the truck in and it was advised I switch to the 2000lb bags and remove these shunts. The porpoising was significantly minimized. Not sure if it was all the bags or if these shunts contributed to the problem. I did not test the shunts both ways while towing.
Our setup: Truck - 2020 Ford F150 with heavy duty tow package. Travel trailer 600 lb. + tongue weight and 4,800 lbs dry weight and Anderson No-Sway Weight Distribution hitch.
Purchased all late May 2020 and took a number of relatively short camping trips and found the front end of truck to feel light which affected steering and front end sway. Had a 3,000 mile Yellowstone trip planned for early September 2020 but considered cancelling it due to what I felt to be an unsafe handling situation. Semi's would really pull and push our setup when passing us. After researching towing issues and products we choose TorkLift StableLoad Suspension upgrade. After installation we took a couple of late August trips to test the results. I was amazed on how much improvement theses small devices made in handling and stability. We took our Yellowstone trip and all went well. No concern over handling so we felt so much safer than prior to installation. In all honesty, if the handling had not improved we would have cancelled our long journey. What we learned through our experience is that it is so much about reducing rear-suspension sag. The TorkLift upgrade did in fact significantly reduce that sag which put weight back on the front suspension thereby improving steering and handling. Once installed the TorkLift devices are simple to engage and disengage. Note, that this review and our experience includes the use of a weight distribution hitch which I consider essential to a complete travel trailer towing package.
Our only suggestion is that the installation instructions were of better quality. Not much to ask considering the price of the product (but well worth the $$ given the results).

A year later and a number of camping trips. Product continues to provide improved handling as described in our original review.
I have a 2015 F250 diesel super duty pulling a 13,000lb 5th wheel. I found that there was only a inch of remaining travel before hitting the overloads in the back and there was a significant drupe towards the back.
I looked at air bags, extended bump stops, Air bags are expensive and can have reliability problems with age, extended bump stops make your ride stiff when not pulling your trailer.
Then I ran into this product. The fact that you can disconnect the mechanism when not towing, is relatively low priced, the stainless steal version handles the northern states salt corrosion problems, and it is reviewed to be reliable until your leaf springs start drooping.
Well so far after a year of use, I found they do correct my problems, are easy to swatch over from loaded to unloaded in about 1 to 15 minutes, did not require any drilling in my Ford (other manufactures I have heard do require drilling 4 holes thru the leaf springs). It was easy enough for a 65 year old to install with a wratchet and some wrenches in 3 or so hours.
Yes I would buy it again.
The forklift stable load suspension upgrade kit works very well. The material and workmanship are top notch. I recommend this upgrade and I would buy it again.
Parts look strong. They did arrive with damage to the paint.
I've been looking at these StableLoads for a few years for my 05 Silverado 2500. I use the truck to pull my 5th wheel. e-trailer is always easy to order from and helpful with any issues. The StableLoads were fairly easy to install. I haven't hooked up my 5th wheel yet, but I anticipate it not squatting so much from now on.
I installed these on a 2016 F-350 short-bed crew cab pickup truck, on which I often carry a Lance 855S which nominally weighs about 3,000 pounds. I expected them to reduce side-to-side sway, which was a non-trivial issue in our travels, especially in gusty crosswinds at highway speeds. So, they DO in fact make a perceptible positive difference in the way the truck rides and handles under load. That said, the nature of the leaf springs on the F-series trucks from about 2010 onward severely limits the potential utility of the whole StableLoad concept. Why? Because there's hardly any space between the bottom (short) leaf and the next (full length) leaf! If you don't have some easy way to lift the truck off the axle (AirLift shocks or a pair of really tall jacks), you can only fit ONE of the StableLoad's 3 wedges into place. So, instead of adding 3/4" (3 wedges) to the point at which the bottom short leaf engages, you can only add 1/4" (1 wedge)! That one wedge makes a perceptible but not very significant difference in the truck's handling under load. So, I'm not sorry I did it, but I DID expect A LOT more benefit per dollar spent and per hour invested in installation (a soap opera for another time; make sure you have a 4' pry bar before you start the work) than I actually got.
Got the TorkLift StableLoad Lower Overload springs in November 2019. They worked great with my 2013 Ford F-150. They corrected a sagging problem with the stock suspension while pulling a 31’ travel trailer. Leveled the truck & trailer very well. Used them for several thousand miles; sold them a couple of weeks ago on eBay & got 2/3 of my money back after selling my F150; replaced it with a new F250.
Useful, but very expensive for what it does. It will let your truck sit a bit more even under load, but it won't make a 150 into a 250. It's a spacer that let's your overload springs become a part of the regular suspension. I have a truck camper designed for a Ford f150 weighing 1700 pounds. These spacers helped, but had to go with air bags also to get the truck even. On the positive side, you can easily slide these out of the way when not hauling for a better ride.
I put it on a F150 for hauling a slide in camper. But sold the slide in and got a bumper pull. Even without the equalizer hitch , these held the back up pretty good. Without them it would have dropped about another inch in the back. I tried it both ways. While we had the slide in, it took alot of the boat in the water feeling away in turns. It was a good investment.
Love this product! Works exactly as advertised and you don’t have to worry about screwing around with airbags. Simple and ingenious. Recommended them to a couple of buddies who love them too.

Have used this product for a year now. Would not put a load on my F150 without engaging the Torklifts as they help that much and provide a great deal of confidence. I spent the extra money for the stainless version and would do it again.
