Excellent Kayak supports for my Malibu 2XL.

Product looks great, exactly as advertised. My only concern is that the installation instructions cautioned against mounting the kayak pads over a sunroof, which I will probably ignore since my kayak is only 46 lbs. nonetheless, I wish the ad had mentioned this about using without a roof rack.

Only a few minutes after I placed the order for my Deluxe Kayak Carrier, I received notification that the 'wheels are in motion.' I see the names and photos of the people who are preparing my order. Instantly, this personal touch tells me that my item is being handled carefully and efficiently. I've never seen anything like this. Why aren't more companies doing this? A few days later my product arrives safely at my home. You would think that I'd have paddling on my mind after it arrived. Instead, I kept thinking about customer service. I only hope my kayaking trips run just as smoothly.

Product was as expected but the service from Ashley E was outstanding.

Everything looks great. Arrived quickly. Works as they should.

Trailer has been great towing our kayaks but have a issue backing it up. Probably because
the tongue of trailer is so long, but I can un-hitch and move with ease.

Easy to install and looks very nice on Mazda CX-5
Have used it twice to carrie 13.5 feet kayak and it did the job with no issues

The product arrived quickly and meets my high expectations. The 4/5 stars is because of one issue. I wondered why the instructions say the green straps go through the vehicle and not just around the side bars. My first time using it, I ran the straps through the vehicle, and later it rained buckets. When I got into the vehicle, I found the rain had channeled along the green straps and dripped enough water to soak sections of the four seats. Perhaps running the green straps through the side bars provides less security or makes more noise, but I'm going through them next time.

Arrived earlier than expected!

Worked well...easy to use..recommend

Great price, good quality, why shop anywhere else

Works adequately for carrying a kayak occasionally.

  • Recommended Method to Transport 2 Kayaks on 2011 Subaru Outback to Retain Rear Hatch Clearance
For the most flexibility in placement of two kayaks on the roof of your 2011 Subaru Outback Wagon you could use a foam block type kayak carrier such as Malone # MPG152 directly on the roof itself, bypassing the front crossbar. The front block could be positioned more forward on the roof to still give you a wide front-to-back stance for kayak stability while giving you the ability to shift the kayaks more forward for a bit more room at the back end of the car. I cannot guarantee that you'd...

  • Roof Rack and Kayak Carriers for Use on 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited 4-Door Hardtop
The solution I recommend for you to potentially transport your two kayaks on your 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport Unlimited 4-Door Hardtop is a lightweight, low-cost foam block type carrier like the Malone # MPG152 that does not require a roof rack at all. I make this recommendation since your hardtop's weight capacity could be too low for two kayaks depending on their size and design. Using a lightweight foam carrier without a roof rack will save you both the cost of the roof rack and the loss...

For transporting two kayaks on the roof of your 2005 Ford Explorer you can choose between two different strategies. One option will save you a lot of money. As you note, many roof rack crossbar shapes can have compatibility issues with a specific kayak carrier. Adding a roof rack also can represent a significant additional cost. If you do not need a roof rack for other purposes then absolutely your lowest-cost option is to use a foam block kayak carrier that requires no roof rack at all....

  • Could Malone Deluxe Foam Kayak Carrier Mount Permanently to Naked Roof
I wouldn't necessarily recommend permanently mounting the Malone Deluxe kayak carrier # MPG152 to the roof of your vehicle as that's not how it was intended to be used and we don't have a way we can recommend to accomplish this that we know would work well. That said the blocks are very durable. If you get back to me with the year/make/model of your vehicle I could recommend a roof rack that would make mounting and using this rack easier with one person as well.
