- MPG152

Everything looks great. Arrived quickly. Works as they should.

- MPG152

Trailer has been great towing our kayaks but have a issue backing it up. Probably because the tongue of trailer is so long, but I can un-hitch and move with ease.

- MPG152

The product arrived quickly and meets my high expectations. The 4/5 stars is because of one issue. I wondered why the instructions say the green straps go through the vehicle and not just around the side bars. My first time using it, I ran the straps through the vehicle, and later it rained buckets. When I got into the vehicle, I found the rain had channeled along the green straps and dripped enough water to soak sections of the four seats. Perhaps running the green straps through the side bars provides less security or makes more noise, but I'm going through them next time.

- MPG152

Arrived earlier than expected!

- MPG152

Worked well...easy to use..recommend

- MPG152

Works adequately for carrying a kayak o ccasionally.

- MPG152

  • How To Carry Kayaks On 2015 Ford Escape With Naked Roof and Moonroof
Yes, the Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier # MPG152 can be used on the naked roof of the 2015 Ford Escape with moonroof as long as you do not put the foam block directly on the glass. If your moonroof is small enough to where you can place the blocks on either side of it and the kayak does not touch the glass you are good to go. It includes the straps and tie-downs to ensure that your kayak stays in place during transport. If your kayak is larger you may consider adjustable SportRack part...

  • How To Secure an Inflatable Kayak to a Bare Roof
If you wanted to use the Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs part # MPG152 then you would need to secure the foam pads to the roof in addition to running a strap though the pad to secure the kayak because the bow and stern tie-downs would most likely not provide enough force to keep the kayak secure. That said, we do offer the SportRack Foam Block Roof Kayak Carrier part # SR5527 which is designed for bare roofs. The other option you have would be to use the Malone HandiRack...

Yes, the Malone Deluxe Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG152 referenced in your question will work well on your 2015 Subaru Outback that features the raised factory side rails. The rails won't interfere with the straps and can even be used as an attachment point instead of running them through the vehicle. I have attached an image from the installation manual that addresses this. This kayak system includes 2 of the foam blocks, 2 block straps, and 2 ropes to anchor the bow and stern...
