Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Malone standard crossbar pads. The foam padding wraps around your roof rack crossbars and protects boards and boats from damage. These pads provide a simple way to carry surf boards, stand up paddle boards, and other gear on the roof of your vehicle. The padding inside the material is made with a high grade EVA foam core and the material around the actual foam is a water resistant nylon sleeve. Now these are designed to fit round, square, and factory oval crossbars. It's a tool free installation.
You undo this strap right here. The pads open up, see that slit right there You fit it around your crossbar, secure it with the Velcro closure and then you have the shock cords on the ends. That also help at better security. These are going to measure 30 inches long by about 4 inches wide and both pads are included with this part number. I had gotten them because some of the reviews said they would work for 1.5” round bars, but they won’t unless you only want 2/3 of your bar covered. As soon as you load a sup they would rotate and have to be fixed every time. I’ll just get some pipe insulation and have the wifey sew them up in some waterproof canvas.
Would be decent pads for smaller bars, but probably still not worth the price.

Holding up well after one year. They could use more straps to keep them secure. Or just use some zip ties on each end.
Seem well-made but they weren't wide enough for my Erickson ladder rack. Check the circumference of your crossbars before ordering. The width of these pads are 5.5 inches. Circumference of my bars was 8.5 inches.

they do not fit the OEM crossbars on my 2007 Nissan Xterra. I’m not returning them because I figured out a way to make them stay on with bungee ties.
