Hey everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the Thule JawGrip, and it's gonna be a great little solution of getting your tools out of your vehicle and onto the roof of your car. So whether it be shovels or a paddle or an axe, anything like that, we can go ahead, get them out of the vehicle, start saving us a lot of space and of course, make it nice and clean on the inside for ourselves. Taking a closer look here at the product, you guys can see exactly where those are actually be sitting. So we do have two cradles, we can carry two tools with us today. And of course, once we prop- appropriately space these gout- guys out and get them in position, we can go ahead and get us a nice, stable platform for ourselves.
Now how these guys mount on here is very, very simple. As long as we have a T-slot attachment on our crossbar, we should have no trouble at all getting these guys mounted. They just simply slide right into that T-slot, right to where we want it, then we can start tightening that hand up, hand knob down, giving us a nice secure platform for our tools to be carried on. Now, the only issue you might run into instead, if you have any kind of square bars out there, you may need a square bar adapter. Now Thule's have already gone ahead and made a couple and they are great.
As you guys can see here today, I've gone ahead and thrown it on our other carrier. And this just allows us to mount to those square bars with no trouble at all. A lot of times the square bars, aren't going to have those T-slots. So this becomes a great little solution for ourselves, and of course, to prevent any kind of sliding on our bars, which you definitely don't want to have happen as we are carrying them. So great little pickup there, of course.
Now these are sold separately, and available at etrailer.com. I highly recommend taking a look at these videos to see how to get these installed. Well, with a weight capacity of 15 pounds as well, we should have no trouble carrying almost any tools needed for our recreation or job requirements. The cushion rubber base does a great job of preventing any damage to both the carrier and the held tools. And the included straps are very easy to use to secure 'em.
All we have to do, simply press in right here on that lever. It's gonna go ahead and expose those teeth, allowing us to either loosen or tighten up on that strap. Makes it very easy to start securing. And of course, it's gonna have a nice little soft rubber around that metal too, to prevent any kind of damage to our tool. So, like to see that they're always worried and making sure that our tools are staying nice and secure for ourselves. Now talking a little bit about dimensions and specs. It is gonna have a handle diameter compatibility of an inch to two and one eighth inches. And also on the inside here, you are gonna see a little bit of a cutout here. Now, going from this port here across, just to give us an idea of how wide that actually is, is going to be an inch and a half to try to give you guys a little bit of an idea though, there, you guys can see exactly what we're working with here on that lower cutout going across. Now for our over- overall length though, is going to be putting us right at eight and one quarter inches there as you guys can see, just to give you guys a couple of different looks here, so my ruler isn't blocking you. So that it will be an eight and one quarter inches across for that length. The overall depth here going from the middle, which is our longest point, is gonna be right at an inch and seven eighths inches for ourselves. And that maximum height when is properly installed and on our roof bar system, is gonna be right at two inches for ourselves. So of course, nice that it's not gonna be taking up too much room on our crossbar system. Well, again, guys, the Thule JawGrip can be a great little way of getting those tools just out of your vehicle and onto the roof. I think it's gonna be a great little solution for ourselves. I'm liking how it's very, very easy to use. The straps - aren't too much to 'em, it makes it nice. I can go ahead, tie up my tools, and I'm ready to go. Well, guys, I think that about does it for our look at the Thule JawGrip here today at etrailer.com. I'm Bobby, thank you for watching..
