Is this right For you? Product Expert Lindsey S says:
Yes, if you:
Grease zerks in the head make for easy maintenance
Basic, bar-style friction sway control will help push your trailer back in line when it sways
Everything's included, even a pre-torqued hitch ball
No, if you:
Chains don't provide much tension or stability, so sway is still bound to occur
Round bars don't provide as much ground clearance as trunnion, so you won't want this if you tow with a van or low-riding car
Can't reverse, use in inclement weather, or pair with surge brakes because of the friction sway control
Keep your trailer in line with this system that uses a telescoping bar with friction pads to correct trailer sway. Built-in grease zerks in the head provide simple maintenance. Includes an adjustable shank and pre-torqued 2-5/16" hitch ball. Lowest Prices for the best weight distribution hitch from CURT. Create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and trailer with a weight distribution hitch. Adding spring bars to your towing system applies leverage, which transfers the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer, resulting in an even distribution of weight throughout. The result is a smooth, level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your hitch.
Selecting a Weight Distribution System
The tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system you should use. If the bars of the system you choose are rated too high for your setup, they will create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. If, on the other hand, the bars are not rated high enough, the system will be unable to properly distribute the weight, rendering it virtually useless.
To determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight. Then add to that the weight of the cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. These two measurements make up the tongue weight rating for a weight distribution system.
Friction Sway Control
The included friction-style sway control unit reduces trailer sway caused by winds, passing traffic, curving roads, or sudden maneuvers. As soon as your trailer begins to move out of line, the friction pads inside the unit touch one another and create resistance to help prevent further side-to-side movement. To install the unit, simply mount the ball-and-plate assembly to your trailer's frame with the included self-tapping screws, and attach the sway control ball to the head of your weight distribution hitch. Then attach the bar to both of the balls and secure it in place with the included clips.
Forged Steel Spring Bars
The round spring bars are made from forged steel, giving them a distinct advantage over typical cast steel bars. Forging is a process where thermal and mechanical energy are applied to the steel, resulting in a finished product that is more resilient to impacts and is stronger in terms of shear strength. Simply put, these spring bars do a superior job of helping to hold your trailer in line because of their added strength and durability.
Built-In Grease Zerks
The system's head features 2 built-in grease zerks so that you can easily lubricate the spring bars without having to remove them from the head assembly. The grease zerks are located on each of the shafts that encase the spring bars. Simply use a grease gun (sold separately) to inject grease into each of the zerks.

Had to buy a longer drop shank, but this setup made towing my 34' enclosed across country safe and easy. Great product. I would buy again if i needed a weight distribution and anti sway for bumper pull trailer. Leveling and anti sway is great

Overall this is a good weight distribution hitch. I had a previous hitch but I needed a higher rating so I got this one. I stuck with the curt brand because I liked my old one so much. I have towed my campers from Ohio all the way to Texas, Florida, Colorado, and Maine. I will have to say I will stay with the Curt brand but there are a few things they could fix.
PROS: easy assembly
Torsion bars are easy to put in
Very sturdy
Sway control works like a charm(no creaking eitber)
CONS: Hard to pull on the release for the torsion bar
Very small notch where the chains sit and they keep slipping when i try to pull the chains up for tension

Works as expected, nothing over and above normal. The first time I used it one of the spring clips that retain the torsion bar in the sleeve broke and I was directed to buy a repair clip. Not impressed!

Pretty pathetic service from etrailer. Order place on Aug 25th with ETA of the following Friday (1o days). But nope, I wait. It finally (and supposedly ships) on Sept 7th (13 days later). On Sept 14th I received a confirmation that my items were delivered, but nope. Not to my house anyway. Avoid these folks if you want something to arrive when they say it will arrive.

This thing shipped so fast! The box was almost completely destroyed when it arrived, which is no fault of etrailer, curt should just invest in heavier duty cartons to ship their products in. All pieces were still there though and is exactly as ordered. As far as the weight distribution hitch itself, it's a great hitch and works beautifully. I personally use 2 anti sways to get the most out of this hitch since it's able to utilize two. One of the best budget friendly weight distribution hitches on the market.

Couldn’t be happier with this product. Works as advertised. I was told by some people that I would get what I paid for, meaning I needed to spend $500 to $600 to get quality, not in this case. I tow a 30 foot camper with a Dodge Ram 1500 with no issues at all. I wish I had a picture of the truck without the weight distributor hooked up....it’s not good!!!

It performs as expected. Took alot of the sway out of the trailer. Kind of bulky to rig up and the trailer frame rails don't provide adequate room to place the sway bar receiver. Does work well once setup.

I This hitch will work great on a 4 inch trailer frame. I had to go and buy longer chains to get this hitch to work on my 6 inch frame trailer. The chains that came with the hitch were to short for a 6 inch frame. Other then that, it works great.

Don’t know what I was thinking not having one of these.
My 1971 Avion pulls so easily with this I sometimes forget its back there.
It’s a must have.
The weight is balanced between the tow vehicle and the trailer and the anti sway bar is a much needed added bonus.
If you don’t have a weight distribution and anti sway bar you are asking for trouble.
These are trouble preventers.

Load leveling hitch and ball was as advertised, at the lowest price I could find anywhere (online or locally). Super durable heavy weight construction that made pulling large trailers a breeze without swaying, and level with vehicle even while using a standard 1500 Suburban with eBrakes.
Delivery was quick and painless.... I couldn't ask for anything more from an online purchase than what I got from etrailer.com
I would definitely purchase from them again for any product I need.

At the last minute I ordered this hitch to use with our new toy hauler, hoping it would arrive on time. etrailer said it would arrive on Friday, and we planned on leaving on a camping trip on Friday afternoon. I had it shipped to my office and it arrived as promised. Arriving home, my wife watched as I installed the hitch and reconnected the van to the trailer. Everything went smooth, the hitch worked flawlessly, and we are once again a satisfied customer. Thanks etrailer.

The reason you can't back up with the Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17063 installed does primarily have to do with the friction sway bar that's attached. The tension that would be applied to the bar when backing up could potentially bend/damage the bar which might also lead to damage on the spring bars. This technically isn't an issue if you plan on backing up in a straight line but since backing up a trailer isn't the easier thing in the world, and weight distribution systems aren't... view full answer...
A weight distribution system does distribute some of the trailer's tongue weight to the vehicle's front axle but determining how much it actually moves up there is a little involved since there isn't a way to show this on a tongue weight scale. To determine the amount you'd have to find a weigh station that can determine how much weight is on the front and rear axle of a vehicle. You'd need to put your vehicle on the scale and get a figure for the front axle with the spring bars attached... view full answer...
When setting up a weight distribution system like the Curt MV Weight # C17063 on a vehicle that has air suspension setup on it the key is to first to set the tongue weight on the vehicle first so that the air suspension activates and then once it's settled you'd need to go ahead and set up the spring bar tension of the system. view full answer...
The # C17063 Curt MV Weight Distribution System w/ Friction Sway Control is not compatible with your DO35 hitch. Unfortunately we do not carry one that is. From what I found after reviewing the DO35 hitch, you will need to get the adapter made for the DO35 in order to use weight distribution. The adapter is only compatible with a Hayman Reese Classis series WDH, not to be confused with Reese. Both of these are Australian made, just like your trailer, and not products we carry. view full answer...
I spoke with my contact at Curt and he said the lift bracket on the Curt Weight Distribution System, part # C17063, should be located a minimum of 33 inches from the center of the coupler down the tongue.
