Today we're going to be taking a look at the Redline Locks Wheel Lock Set. This is designed for use on a single axle or, on a tandem trailer, it'll work on one side. You'll need two if you're going to do both sides. This is a set of chrome wheel locks. It's designed to fit on half-inch wheel studs. It's got a special pattern to it that a standard socket just isn't going to get onto and won't remove. You're going to have two locks and the special key.
The special key is going to fit right onto your lock in the right spot and prevent theft. A great thing, or something I think is really ingenious, is they've got a two-step here. There's a 3/4-inch on the top and a 13/16th here on the bottom. That's going to work with the standard size wheel lug nuts that you already have. You're not going to require a special tool or anything like that. Installing them on your trailer is an extremely easy process. We need to first remove a lug nut.
With that off, we want to thread on our lock. Always get these started by hand, whether it's a lock style or a regular lug nut. You never want to have them cross-threaded before you put a tool to it. With that started well, we'll just bring in our impact again, run it down and, of course, we'll want to torque it to specification. That's really all there is to it.
It's very easy to install. One thing I do want you to note is when you buy your lock set, it's going to come with a white piece of paper like this. It says, "key number." Right on the end of this key it says, "354." We would write that down, right here on that line, and we're going to put this somewhere safe. The reason being is if we we're ever to lose this lock, preventing us from getting our wheels off our trailer, we can easily send this piece of paper in to the address listed here and they'll send you another key out. The instructions are right there on how to do it, but it's a nice and easy way to safeguard to know you're not going to come up short and won't be able to get your tires removed. Now that we've had a good look over the Redline Locks Wheel Lock Set for the half-inch wheel bolts, that will complete today's look at part number RG01-150. .

Hunted/shopped around for the product that was originally on trailer. These are the identical locks they previous owner had on (just not the key). They measure; inside 1.138", outside 1.264". They fit perfectly on these alum wheels.

I tape the key to my tire iron to keep it from getting lost.

One of these nuts were binding when I installed it. On inspection, it had a burr about halfway down the threads. I had a tap of the appropriate size and pitch and was able to clear the problem myself. After that, the nuts installed smoothly. In the meantime, etrailer offered to replace the defective part. Customer service is good! I'm sure this was a one in a million defect. They seem heavy duty otherwise. I torqued these to 110 lb/ft with no issue. I'd buy these again.

Got these to protect the mag wheels and upgraded tires on my boat trailer. They never let me down.
A must for any trailer that is parked or stored outside, and not behind a secure fenced area. Easy to install and remember to write down the key code because if you lose the key tool you are in trouble. I do wish the Company would sell them in sets of four all keyed the same, as the bulk of trailers are dual axle and even for those who have single axles, you still could put more than one per wheel to slow them down.

One more level of security, going with the wheel lock and tongue lock I installed one year ago. All came from etrailer, and all showed up quickly, installed easily and have held up perfectly for one year so far. I've been very pleased.
I put these wheel locks on 1 year ago, because I had just purchased New tires for my van, and I did not want the tires to disappear. So far they seem to be working well.

Not an infraction on etrailer, but I had to get three packages of locks before I got a good set. The first 2 sets stripped out- But I will say that 2 years ago I bought these for a trailer I had at that time and did not have a problem.
This time there must have been a bad batch- But etrailer worked through it and made sure I was completely satisfied.
It is refreshing to deal with a company that puts its customers first.
Great product, I wish you all would have a set of 4 in a package with one key, so one could order one box, two lock nuts for trailer and two lock nuts for the attached spare.

Chrome wheel lock set...maybe the key isn't chrome! Locks work and look good, five lug 15" Steel Wheels. After installation and torque noticed the "chrome" was peeling off the key. Haven't noticed any peeling on the locks...time will tell.
Well made and fit as expected.
