I recently ordered two self adjusting brakes and wire. Through error on my part I ordered the wrong butt connectors. That's okay when I place my next order I will order the correct ones. The brakes were easy to install thanks to all the videos e trailer provides. I will be placing more orders before my 1965 Serro Scotty is completed.
Good quality connector. However recommend using connectors that heat shrink for trailer applications
These worked great for what I needed, ad so far its been a year and everything is still holding.
What is the best part was that etrailer was great on the phone, provided great customer service when ordering and even checked back in a year later to be sure the product was still working. Fantastic service!
I really like this brake controller, It was easy to install and the light display lets you know how much your brake is working. The only problem I came across was that I had to order a special wire adaptor which they don't tell you when you place your order.
The Tow Ready Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Nissan - 20266 and the 12-10 Gauge Butt Connector - 05732-2 were a perfect fit for the prewired harness on the 2013 Nissan Xterra S.

While we dont have butt connectors designed to be water tight, we do have heat-shrink butt connectors like part # DW05744-5 as well as primary wire heat shrink tubing # DW05451. The heat shrink design is intended to help keep as much water as possible out of the wiring connection.
