This combination of 2 heavy-duty 10-gauge wires, jacketed individually and then together, is perfect for installing a trailer brake controller on a vehicle.
Features:
One wire is connected to the brake controller, which carries the power back for the trailer brakes, while the other is connected directly to the vehicle battery for an auxiliary power supply pin in the trailer connector.

Today we're going to take a look at the Decca jacketed 2 wire 10 gauge brake wire and this is sold per foot. I have a sample here, this is just to show you that this combination of the 2 heavy duty 10 gauge wires. They're jacketed individually and then all together. It's perfect for when installing a trailer brake controller on your vehicle. The 10 gauge duplex brake wire made with the 2 plastic insulated primary wires are laid parallel and the wires are covered with this high quality plastic jacket that protects the insulated conductors. The conductors are color coded for easy identification.
You can see a white and a black. This does meet all the SAEJ1128 specifications up to 50 volts and the insulation is rated to 105 degrees Celsius. Basically what this is used for is one wire is connected to your brake controller which carries the power back from the trailer brakes while the other is connected directly to the vehicle battery for an auxiliary power supply pin in the trailer connector. What's nice is having both of these wires in the same jacket. It makes running them from the back to the front of the vehicle very quick and easy.
That should do it for the review of the Decca jacketed 2 wire 10 gauge brake wire and this is sold per foot.

Way to thick to be used for electrical brakes
good brake wire in a heavy duty jacket
Heavy wire, jacketed is perfect for under a trailer where the water spray, dirt and dust is heavy. I did shrink tube everything just so no corrosion gets in where it doesn't belong. Great wire!
These things are major time-savers! Bolt the whole assembly on, wire it up, and go! Can't beat the price either - would cost quite a bit more buying the parts individually. Made a huge difference in stopping power on my 18' Dively car hauler, 9990 GVWR. The brakes were 6 years old at the time, and had tens of thousands of miles on them - abusive miles too, with shoes seizing and dragging, electrical failures causing some to work 3x as hard as others, stop and go MA traffic, etc.
While I was at it, I also grabbed 30' of Deka jacketed 2-wire 10 gauge brake wiring, and redid the whole system from the plug back. I also removed the drums, had them turned at a local garage, and installed brand new bearings, races, & seals. The improvement in stopping power was nothing short of amazing.
I went from having my Tekonsha P3 on boost level 3 at 11 volts +, trailer UNLOADED, to running boost level 1 at 6 volts with 4,000 lbs. on the 2k lb. trailer! BIG difference in stopping power!
Hello, this is my second order from the guys at etrailer.com, and let me tell you they ship SUPER FAST, and the constantly keep communicating about your order. These guys don't play around, hats off to y'all. This product worked out great, i did have to cut about 1/3 of the 10ga wire though to get it to fit in my Bargman 7-way. But at least i wont get a current drop though. Very nice insulation jacket too. (Not the hard plastic crap) thanks again guys for great customer service
I appreciate the phone call to let me know the parts I ordered were on back order. Other parts were available immediately and so I switched up the order. This saved time in finishing my project and the parts worked perfectly. Excellent quality parts. Excellent customer service! Thanks
Very excellent customer service, took all the time needed to discuss my project and get the right products. Fast, complete shipping, excellent quality products. My project is finished and working perfectly, thanks to etrailer!
Arrived quickly and exactly what is nee ded.
The part recommendation worked great for the wiring of my 7 pin adaptor.
Great quality
Good prices, good service, quick delivery and good explanation of how to use the product. Very friendly and answered all my questions and returned calls. Looking forward to do more business.
My tow vehicle does not have factory connections for trailer wiring. Used this cable for trailer brakes and auxillary power. This cable is just what I needed to run from rear to front of my vehicle on the underside. The sheathing protects the wire from the elements. The shipping was quick.
This was exactly what I needed for the electric brakes on my trailer
Great wire! I used it to wire up a 7-way plug and I'm running fine!
Good brake wire
Wire is very good quality. Would order it again. The time it took from when I ordered and when it was delivered was somewhat longer than my previous orders. I was anticipating an earlier delivery to finish a project, but had to delay.
Although shipping took longer than anticipated everything bolted on a d took me about 4 hrs to do the job..quality parts and great value. Got my electric brakes on and legal for inspection
The products I purchased have preformed excellent thank you E.Trailer
10 gauge sends all the power you've got to multi-axle brake systems without dropping voltage. The larger size is harder to solder correctly though. Practice on a test piece if you need to.
This item was recommended to use with electric brakes. Made sense. When arrived, I found that the wire was to large to fit in the axle tubes and trailer conduit. Recommend that you check to make sure it fits before buying. The product is high quality, and would work great for the application if it fit.
Am following the advise from your video to use the 10 ga wire for brake hook up. The jacketed 2 wire is heavy duty to say the least. The gauge of the wire on the brakes is not 10 ga which makes me wonder if the 10 ga is necessary. But I have it, it is high quality, and I will use it shortly.
etrailer products and service are excellent! With their helpful videos and staff (plus a little help from Curt Manufacturing and our teardrop trailer manufacturer (CampInn)) I was able to install electric brakes on the trailer, and a controller in my vehicle by myself. I had never installed electric brakes before. Everything works perfectly!
Exactly what I wanted and needed. Company was very easy to work with and I will definitely make them a favorite on my computer
