Video Transcript for An In-Depth Look at the Quick Splices

Today we're going to take a look at the closed port quick spice self-stripping connector for a quantity of one.Now this closed port quick splice self-stripping connector is designed to splice into an existing wire without having to cut crimp or strip. Provides an open channel in the front for your existing wire and a closed channel in the back here for the tap wire to go into. This metal blade right here you can see is attached and that pierces the wires in each of the channels of the connector to make your connections. Pliers are required to squeeze down on that plate after your wires are placed in there. I'm going to demonstrate that in a minute here. This is for a quantity of one connector. Now this is designed to use a .. If you're going to tap a 14 gauge, 16 gauge, or 18 gauge wire to a 10 or 12 gauge existing wire.

The maximum power rating is 600 volts. And like I said, we're going to demonstrate here.So here's your . This is the larger 10 to 12 gauge existing wiring. So what you'll do is in that front open channel, you can just push this into your open channel, your existing wiring just like that, and then you can tap this smaller gauge wire right in the very back here. And it's a closed port, you can see when you insert this in and push it, it's closed off so it only allows it to go so far.So with both of those wires in there, what you'll want to do is take your pliers, put it onto the blade right there, push them together just like that, and then you can see once there, make sure it's totally pushed down.

Once it's like that you made your connections, you tapped your wire into your existing wire, then you can push your cover on it closed, and see right there it'll clip on. That cover will protect your connection also. And then you're all ready to go. You've tapped this wire into your existing wiring. But that should do it for the review on the closed port quick splice self-stripping connector for a quantity of one.

  • Comparing Curt Trailer Hitch C13411 and C13294 For 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE43 AMG
You are correct that both the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13294 and # C13411 are confirmed to fit your 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE43 AMG. Both hitches have a hidden crosstube meaning that only the receiver itself will be visible once installed. I do however recommend the # C13294 as it has a slightly higher tongue weight rating at 750lbs, and a slightly higher trailer weight rating at 7500lbs. For wiring you will first need to install a 4-way connector using # 119250KIT. With a 4-way...

  • Installing Wiring for Truck Cap Stop Light on a 2014 Chevy Silverado
On your 2014 Chevy Silverado, there are a couple of options to connect your Truck Cap stop light to your truck. The CHMSL (center high mount stop light) on your truck is one location where you can tap into the wires with Quick Splice Wire Connector # SWC501925-1 on the power and ground to run # 16-1-1 wires to your cap light. Another option is to tap into your fuses using the lid of the fuse box or your owners manual to determine the fuse location for the CHMSL or Stop Light. Another...

If you don't install the reverse lockout solenoid # T4748800 that came with your actuator, then unless you have free backing brake assemblies, you will not be able to back up without activating the brakes immediately. This solenoid basically works like a valve not allowing the hydraulic brake fluid to move through the brake lines to activate your brake assemblies. • Installing a Brake Controller on a 2016 Isuzu Q Series With No Stoplight Wire
This is something that has come up with the N-Series Isuzu trucks before. With that being said, you will want to get the stop light signal from a different source. If your vehicle has a center high mount stop lamp, or CHMSL, this will be a great place to connect the brake controller's stoplight wire. The CHMSL can be used to gain a stoplight signal regardless of if your vehicle has separate or combined brake/turn wiring. However, if you do not have the CHMSL, you can simply splice the...

Since you have no power for the reverse light function on your 7-way, I recommend first checking your ground as a seemingly good ground can often cause one function like this not to work. You will want to ensure you have a clean bare metal to metal connection free of corrosion and debris. Then you will want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to trace that wire probing the insulation every couple of feet to find a short and replace as needed. I don't have a wiring schematic for...

I think I understand what you are asking. For your 2015 Jeep Cherokee, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118605 will give you the basic trailer functions as you stated and then you can add the reverse feature alone using the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat - Vehicle End # C57187 and simply use the quick splice to tap into the reverse light at your tail light on either side. • Will The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System Work On A 2010 Toyota Tundra?
Thank you for being our customer. I reached out to my tech contact at Hopkins and the Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera and Hitch Aligner System, # HM50002, absolutely can work for your vehicle. The reason why they may say incompatible is that the quick connects were put on the Tundra in 2014, so the older models don't use the quick connects.
