The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.
Surface-mount lights install flat against the surface of the trailer, so a hole does not need to be cut into the trailer for the light. This type of light is installed using a flange or bracket that has mounting holes. And mounting hardware is used to secure the light to the trailer.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a sealed, six inch oval LED trailer utility light from Optronics. This unit features a sonically sealed waterproof design. It features a surface flange-mount design, so that means you don't have to worry about cutting out a panel or anything. Mounting hardware not included, but it does have four pre-drilled holes for mounting. On the backside it does have a foam mounting gasket already installed on the back of the light.It's a hard-wired design so we have the two-way female plug directly on here. If you don't want that, you can actually cut that off, strip back the wiring for hard-wired applications.
But we do have the two wire design, white is for ground, red is for power, and it runs into the two-way female plug.This is a low profile light, it's great for not taking up much space, it's only about 9/16 of an inch thick or deep, and it is a full LED system. LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights, they last longer, they burn brighter, they're more efficient. With LEDs you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments.We have a nice, durable polycarbonate lens and housing. Clear lens with white LEDs. We're going to go over the measurements real quick and then we'll hook it up to power and turn off overhead lights os you can see it in a lower light setting.Measuring edge to edge, going in this direction, is about 7-9/16 of an inch long.
Going this direction measures about 3-5/16 of an inch. The mount holes, side to side, are separated on center by about 2-3/4 inches and then going this direction center on center, the mount holes are separated by 6-15/16 inches.All right, we're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. I'm going to take the male plug and hook it up. I'm going to turn off our overhead lights. You can see in a low light setting it's a very bright light.
It sends out a clear, consistent signal. It has a total of 10 diodes or 10 LEDs. So the multiple LEDs or the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. It's got clear white light, power draw at 12.8 volts, is 0.054 amps, and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.That's going to do it for today's look at the Optronics sealed six inch, oval LED trailer utility light.
