This was to replace a "American" light, its a "clone" but slightly different sized Metric. Had to make some "adjustments" but in the end it was very good.

Is the Bulb Replaceable in Optronics Rectangular Tractor and Utility Light # TL46FS
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Optronics Rectangular Tractor and Utility Light # TL46FS to determine if the bulb is replaceable. Since it is an H3 bulb, it is attached to a base and it has a wire lead. The bulb itself is not replaceable but that whole assembly is. The best option is # CM93395 which is 2 bulbs (so you would have a spare). However, these bulbs are not tested with the Optronics housing. But they will fit and they are the right size.

The 55-Watt Halogen Utility Light, item # TL46FS, draws about 4.5 amps per light. There is an equation we can use to determine amperage when watt rating and input voltage is known. Amperage equals Watt Rating divided by Input Voltage which is typically 12.8 volts in automotive applications. So 55 watts divided by 12.8 volts equals 4.30 amps and your specific charging system may output slightly more than 12.8 volts. Does Optronics Rectangular Utility Light Have A Hollow Stud For Wires
The Optronics Rectangular Tractor and Utility Light, part # TL46FS, you referenced, does have a hollow stud that the wires are run through to allow easier installation without the hassle of making another hole for wire routing. This light uses a 5 watt halogen bulb that has an H3 base.

Recommendation for a Flood Light Intended for Outdoor Use
The Custer High Performance Utility Light, # S072, can be used for outdoor applications, such as to illuminate a truck bed. It will cover an area like a truck bed. This light works on a 12 volt system and uses a 55 watt H3 halogen bulb. A better option for a flood light would be # TL35FS, which can be used outside. Or you can use # TL46FS.

How to Ground Optronics Rectangular Tractor and Utility Lamp # TL46FS to Horse Trailer
For best performance, you would want the ground wire to attach directly to the trailer frame. It would also be acceptable to ground the wire to a piece of metal that is directly connected to the trailer frame. I would not recommend grounding to the interior of the lamp housing.

How to Charge Trailer Battery and Power Trailer Exterior Light
You would need to connect the 12 volt accessory circuit wire from your 7-way connection to the positive post of your trailer's battery. This will put a maintenance charge on the battery when you are towing. Then to power the light you would also need to run the positive wire of the light to the positive post of the battery. This will allow the battery to charge and will allow the light to be powered by the battery.
