  • Recommendations for Exhaust Sound on 2002 Ford F-150 Lariat 5.4L V8 Triton Short Bed SuperCrew
  • Adding an exhaust tip like the MagnaFlow 4" Exhaust Tip - Stainless, Clamp-On for 2-3/4" - 3" Tailpipe # MF35212 to your 2002 Ford F-150 won't drastically change the sound but it will make a difference. It will make your exhaust louder because the cone shape is like a cheerleader megaphone to amplify the sound waves so it will sound a little more aggressive but it won't really change the depth of tone much. If you want louder this will definitely help. If you want the deeper rumble,...

As long as your factory exhaust piping is between 1-3/4" to 2-1/2" in diameter then the above exhaust tip will work well for you. In order to really increase the sound of your truck, you will want to install either a new muffler or cat-back exhaust system....

  • Could Magnaflow Quad Exhaust Tip be Painted Black
  • While we don't have a version of the # MF35228 in black you could pretty easily paint this black if you used a high heat black spray paint. Unlike exhaust components closer to the engine the tail pipes don't get hot enough to prevent paint from sticking around. If you paint headers for example the paint will not last as the metal just gets too hot. Exhaust tips are far enough away that the heat not as bad and a high heat paint will do really well.
