It is usually a straightforward process to replace an existing RV step unit with a new one, perhaps one with more steps or one with a different height between the steps, or even an electric one. The opening of the door and the threshold height are the two dimensions you need to pick out the correct Lippert Solidstep. Based on your doorway width of 25-1/2 inches and the threshold height of 27 inches the kit you need is the part # LC791572 which fits that perfectly. So there is not an option for a backplate/backsplash with the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps for 21-3/4" to 22-1/4" Wide Doorways - 2 Steps # MR86RR.
This was a design choice, however, much like the removable pins; the reason for that is to make it simpler to clean the steps. With steps that have the backplates, cleaning them and sweeping off the dirt that inevitably gets on them is a pain because you can't just sweep it off the back of the step, so dirt tends to linger.

To determine if manual pull-out steps # SMFP-2100 fit your 2017 Forest River Wildwood you can measure the mounting hole spacing on your existing steps. If they are spaced 24-1/2 inch apart on center left to right and 7 inches on center front to back then these steps will fit. If you have a different measurement let me know what it is.
