Expert Answers about Kia Sportage Hitch Bike Racks

  • Availability of Bike Rack with Ramp to Carry 75 lb E-Bike
  • The bike rack with the highest weight capacity that has a ramp that can be utilized is the Thule EasyFold XT # TH903202 but it can only handle up to 65 lb E-Bikes and I'm not sure if you'd be able to get your bike down that low. We do have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HLY74FR which would be able to carry your 75 lb E-Bike but this doesn't have a ramp so you'd have to muscle the bike up to the bike rack. Because of this, the best option for your application is to use a motorcycle...

  • Alternative Bike Rack to Kuat NV 2.0 Base for 2020 Kia Sportage
  • The Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA22B is probably my favorite bike rack that we carry, and part of that is because you can add the extension # BA02B down the road if need be. An alternative option that I like is the Yakima HoldUp 2 Bike Rack # Y02443 which is comparable on all metrics aside from that it can only handle up to 3" wide tires as opposed to 4.8" wide tires like the Nv 2.0 Base. You can eventually add the Plus 2 2-Bike Add-On # Y02446 and then if you want to match all of the lock...

  • Will Thule Hitching Post Pro Work With Class ll Hitch On 2017 Kia Sportage
  • The Curt Class ll Hitch # C12158 we offer for your 2017 Sportage is capable of carrying 4 bikes. The note about Class l hitches does not apply to the # C12158. The Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR will work with the 1-1/4 inch receiver you have on your vehicle. The bike carrier does have a weight capacity of 35 lbs for each bike. If you are planning on carrying bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes or women's bikes I recommend using an adapter bar like part # 64005. This...

  • Platform Bike Rack for RV to use with a Aggressive Frame Bike
  • Yes. The Thule EasyFold XT2 # TH903202 is a great choice to use with bikes that have aggressive step-throughs like the ones found on your cruiser bike. This is because it doesn't require any type of frame adapter like the Thule Frame Adapter # TH982XT, which you would need if you used a hanging style rack like the Thule Hitching Post # TH934XTR. The EasyFold has independently detachable arms that can be repositioned anywhere along upright frame to hold bikes by the downtubes or top tubes...

  • Easy to Use Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2011 Kia Sportage
  • I will be happy to recommend some bike racks so you can carry your bikes on your 2011 Kia Sportage. An increasingly popular rack is the BikeWing # LGA54FR. Since this bike rack holds the bikes at the wheels it will work with many different bike styles. It is also light weight at just 20 pounds so it is easy to maneuver and store. Bikes with fenders or baskets on the back will not fit though. One of the easiest bike racks to load is the Kuat Transfer, # TS02G, because of the U-shaped...

  • 4 Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2009 Kia Sportage
  • To carry 4 bikes at the rear of your 2009 Kia Sportage your best option would be to use a receiver hitch and a hitch mounted bike rack. One of our most popular 4 bike racks is the Thule Hitching Post, # TH934XTR, which has anti-sway cradles to prevent damage to your bikes or the back of the vehicle and can be folded down away from the rear of the vehicle for access when out on a ride. If you don't have a receiver hitch, the hitch I recommend for your vehicle is the Draw-Tite Class...

  • Recommended Hitch Bike Carrier for 2017 Kia Sportage
  • The best way to transport bikes on a passenger car is usually with a hitch-mounted rack, like the Thule Hitching Post Pro you referenced, part # TH934XTR. A video on this rack is linked for you. A hitch rack places the weight load of the rack and bikes on the vehicle's frame, its strongest part, instead of on its relatively light sheet metal the way trunk-mount racks do. For a new vehicle I definitely suggest you go for a hitch rack. This will provide the safest transport for your bikes...

  • Hitch Mounted Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2012 Kia Sportage
  • As long as you have a hitch installed on your 2012 Kia Sportage like the Curt Hitch part # C13120 the # 59403 would work well for you.

  • Can Bike With Long Handlebars Allow LiftGate To Open With Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier
  • As you said, the video of the Yakima HoldUp, part # Y02443 on a 2017 Sportage shows a bike with 9-inches from the center of the handlebar stem to the outside of the handlebar. In the video there is only a couple of inches clearance when the rear liftgate is opened. Since you have a bike that has much longer handlebars I recommend using one of the outer positions of the bike carrier. This would place the end of the handlebar further away from the back of the vehicle.
