Hey Alex thanks for the information! A Ram ProMaster 3500 camper van is considered a class B RV. While you can use the Kuat Piston Pro X Bike Rack item # KU98VR with it you will be limited to the lower weight capacity of 42 lbs per bike.
For two 63 lbs e-bikes, I recommend the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack item # HLY64FR which has a 80 lbs per bike capacity. This bike rack has rotating padded clamps that will secure your e-bikes no matter what style frame you have and avoid any protentional... view full answer...
I recommend the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack # Y02476 as the best option for your 2006 Starcraft Centennial camper. You will want to verify the measurement from the hitch pin center hole to the back of the spare tire is at least 9" to allow the bike rack to fit. This rack is capable of carrying 4 bikes up to 37.5lbs each and you will need an Adapter Bar # Y02531 if you have an alternative frame bike. view full answer...
First of all if your Class B camper did not come from the factory with a receiver the Curt # C13207 is my recommendation as it is made in the USA. This will bolt on underneath your 2017 Ram ProMaster 2500 chassis with no drilling required.
As you have the swing open doors I recommend using the Swing Away Adapter # SAR36VR which will allow you to access your rear doors without having to remove your bikes. For a bikes the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack # HLY64FR is my preferred rack... view full answer...
Hi Jackie,
You definitely made the right choice initially for a bike rack for your truck as well as a 5th wheel or camper by going with the Swagman Escapee RV Bike Rack # S39SR.
This is a 2-bike rack as there isn't a 1-bike rack with those same capabilities, and the Escapee does have the option of adding ramps as well for easy loading. For that you'd just need the Loading Ramp for Swagman Skaha and Escapee Bike Racks # S59SR. view full answer...
Hey Barbara, yes the Yakima OnRamp # Y88DJ can be used on both your camper and Highlander. It's a really great e-bike rack that is RV rated and if you wanted to add the swing away adapter you can too with the part # Y02483. It's not super hard to remove or install but it does have a bit of weight to it. view full answer...
Yes absolutely, Blaine - as long as the bike rack doesn't eat up the remaining 400 lbs of tongue weight, I'd say you'll be good to go. view full answer...
Hey Richard, I have a solution for you but the Hollywood Racks part # HLY66ZR is not rated for the rougher ride quality at the rear of RVs but we do have the Hollywood Racks RV Rider part # HLY64FR which is rated for this application and would work great. view full answer...
I did take a look at what we have for your Sportrack Hitch N' Drive 700 Deluxe Series, and while we do offer the Locking Knob with Bolt for SportRack Single-Arm, Hitch-Mounted Bike Carriers # SR0018 which does fit your Hitch N' Load bike rack, however the triangular knob you're looking at is not offered as a replacement.
Since this rack has been discontinued for some time now, replacement parts are going to be few and far between. With that being said, it may be a good idea to upgrade... view full answer...
We do have hitches available for campers like your 2019 Coachmen Viking LS Camper. These hitches mount to the frame, so you'll need to take that measurement into consideration.
I recommend the Curt Adjustable Class III, part # C13701. It adjusts from 18" to 51" and mounts to box frames, C-channel frames, or I-beam frames. It has a 2" receiver and can be bolted or welded on. I've linked to a video review of this below.
As for your bike rack, I was unable to find out if yours is compatible... view full answer...
Hey Mike,
The RockyMounts VanTrack for Fork Mount Bike Racks # RKY56FR is designed to be mounted to the floor so it hasn't been tested to work vertically, although one customer has tried this and even sent us in a pic with their review. Essentially, you can do it but you'd be voiding the manufacturer warranty.
SeaSucker offers the Hornet Rear Window Bike Rack for 1 Bike # 298-BH1302, which was designed specifically to mount bikes vertically. You'll just need a window on the back of... view full answer...
Hey Brenda,
We can get your GIANT electric mountain bike set up with a rack, and my favorite that you can use on your camper van is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY84FR.
The # HLY84FR has an 80 lb per-bike capacity so it's more than enough for your ebike, is rated for use behind your motorhome/camper van, and comes with locks.
It has a hitch lock to keep the rack safe, the frame hooks which mount to the frame lock, and it also comes with a cable lock for a second way... view full answer...
Hello JoAnne,
I can't tell you outright if the Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack # S64671 will work on a Chevy Silverado 1500 with a Four Wheel brand pop-up slide-in truck camper, but I can't imagine there will be any issue. The rack measures 8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the rack, so if you measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest your camper extends past that and it's less than 8 inches the rack can work.
From what I saw those campers... view full answer...
Hello Erin,
I have a solution for you, but unfortunately we do not have a front mounted hitch for the 1994 Dodge Camper Van. Since carrying bikes on the front of a vehicle can impede your head lights and turn signals, as well as potentially add unneeded stress to your vehicle by restricting airflow to your engine, I would recommend another method altogether if possible.
If your camper van has a spare tire, I recommend using a spare tire rack like the Malone Hanger Spare T3 OS # MPG2147... view full answer...
Hey Brian, yes you will be able to tow your 2008 Forest River Pop up while using the Swagman Original Towing Bike Rack part # S64675 that you mentioned. With this rack you have a 3,500 lb towing capacity so your 2,300 lb pop up with bikes loaded on the rack would be no problem. view full answer...
As long as you do not exceed the tongue weight capacity of the # GY87VR it could handle your bike and bike rack. This has a tongue weight capacity of 700 lbs so it won't be a problem. However, if you think you might tow your popup camper and also carry the bike rack I would get the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount # 325-GH-504 or # 325-GH-305 instead. These are incredibly sturdy with a high capacity that can handle just about anything. view full answer...
I have a great solution for you with the Jack-It part # LGA55VR which attaches under your trailer jack mounting flange and gives you a 2 bike rack that carries the bikes above it. Using a hitch adapter ends up cutting the hitch capacity in half so it's not what we normally recommend. This is due to added leverage and movement created. The Jack It though gives you ability to carry bikes in same area, not have to worry about clearance issues, and does not cut capacity so it's the way to go. view full answer...
Hello Priscilla. The Yakima DoubleDown Bike Rack has been discontinued for over a Decade. According to Yakima this rack was not RV rated. If you need a similar RV rated 4-bike rack take a look at the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack # Y02476. This is basically the newer version of the DoubleDown. It can hold 4 bikes weighing up to 37.5 lbs apiece and it has a built in bike lock and hitch lock. view full answer...
The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY64FR is a great option for an RV rated bike rack that can handle 2 e-bikes. Another option for a bike rack that is rated for RV use and 2 e-bikes is the Yakima OnRamp LX # Y88DJ. The Yakima OnRamp also features an integrated ramp to help you load your heavier bikes.
If you are looking for the highest weight capacity per bike that is RV rated then the # HLY64FR is going to be the bike rack for you. Other wise, I personally... view full answer...
I'd be happy to help you find a roof rack for your camper, Todd!
We have a few different styles of roof racks and the correct one just depends on the style of your camper:
- Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack for Pop-Up Campers and Camper Shells # S80510
- SportRack Pop-Up Camper Roof Rack - Square Crossbars # SR1020 (Will not fit trailer roofs with rounded or curved edges)
- Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y02-490B
The Roamer LT and SportRack racks are stationary with... view full answer...
Hello Keith, thanks for reaching out. To answer your question, no, you cannot carry two 52 lb bikes with the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack # Y02476. This bike rack mas a max capacity of 37.5 lbs per bike and your bikes would be well over this weight capacity. The 150 lb total capacity is for 4 bikes only, not for 2.
If you need to carry e-bikes on the back of an RV, the Hollywood Racks RV Rider # HLY64FR is a much better option. It can carry two bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece. This... view full answer...
