You are correct, Nick. You will need to add transmission fluid to the system when installing a transmission cooler such as the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13503 which is confirmed to fit your 2008 Nissan Altima. I cannot give you an exact amount of fluid, but what I would do is add a little bit, check the fluid level, then repeat as needed. Sometimes adding a cooler will require 1/2 to a full quart depending on the cooler and the length of the hose. Also, it... view full answer...
Hey Chris,
An 1/8" difference between the factory lines and the lines included with the Derale Transmission Cooler # D15902 isn't going to be an issue as long as you properly secure the lines together with the appropriate coupler. view full answer...
Hey Mike, the Derale Transmission Cooler part # D13960 that you referenced actually came with a 180 degree thermostat so you shouldn't need to get an additional one. view full answer...
I confirmed with Derale the Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 is going to be your best option for your 2014 GMC Yukon XL with 6.2L engine. This cooler has a fan to help push more air through the cooler at low speeds. view full answer...
Hey Spencer,
Good question, and you should be able to keep the filter the same on your 2000 Ford E-350 van when using the Derale Transmission Pan Cooler for Ford E4OD, 4R100, 5R110 and 5R110W # D14208.
Derale added a filter support to account for the different filter height locations. Additionally, the # D14208 filter will not have any negative implications in cold weather. view full answer...

I took a look at the online version of the owner's manual for your 2015 Cadillac SRX and it states that if you do not have the factory trailering package then the SRX has a maximum towing capacity of 2,500 pounds. With the factory trailering package the capacity increases to 3,500 pounds.
I wasn't able to determine what exactly is included with the factory tow package but I can say that installing aftermarket enhancement parts like a transmission cooler will not increase the towing capacity... view full answer...
The first thing you are going to want to do is consult the owners manual for your 2008 Dodge Nitro to determine what the capacity of the vehicle is and that is the capacity you need to go by. I have it on good authority that the standard towing capacity is 2,000 pounds and with the factory tow package it increases to 3500 pounds and up to 5,000 pounds with weight distribution and the factory tow package. There may be other things in the factory tow package like different engine tune or... view full answer...
Hey Andy, so you don't generally have to worry about restricted air flow to the transmission cooler or transmission of your vehicle when it is being flat towed because since it is not running and powering itself it is not capable of actually creating any heat that would need to be cooled off. All of that stress would be on the tow vehicle instead. But for the Encore GX it is a problem so you can't do it.
If the owners manual does state to disconnect the battery you would need to do that... view full answer...
The Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan # D15200 is a universal design so it will fit your 2002 Toyota Tacoma with the 3.4L V6 engine. We have not had a 1st gen Tacoma in our shop to have this or a similar engine/trans cooler installed so I can not give any specifics on the installation. You will want to ensure you mount it in front of your radiator where it can get plenty of clean air to keep the fluids as cool as possible. view full answer...
Hey Jay, I would recommend making sure that you aren't over the towing capacity of your 2019 Honda Pilot as I looked it up and it could have a 3,500 lb if it's FWD or 5,000 lb capacity if it has AWD.
So your trailer could be over your capacity so it would be a good idea to verify the weight of your trailer as well as the capacity of your vehicle. view full answer...
Hi Mark; we don't carry Mishimoto so I don't know a lot about them. I did a little research it looks like some people love them and say they are high quality while others have the opposite opinion. I didn't really see a lot of consistency saying they are the best or worst. Based on that I'm willing to bet that the performance of the Derale # D13403 is about the same as the Mishimoto equivalent so I would save myself the money and get the Derale. view full answer...
Hey Michael, yes the Roadmaster base plate kit part # 1556-3 is correct fit for your 2010 Honda Odyssey but it needs to not have the factory transmission cooler which would be located in front of the AC condenser.
The tow package would mean there is a trailer hitch at the rear of the vehicle as well as trailer wiring. You can also look it up with the VIN of the vehicle at a Honda dealer or if you had original window sticker. view full answer...
