The MaxxFan Deluxe 12V Roof Vent # MA00-06200K will do a great job of moving air through your truck topper since it outputs a healthy 900-cubic-feet-per-minute (CFM) air flow. This vent should be able to cool effectively in your topper well below its maximum speed capacity which should mean quiet operation a long working lifespan.
Since this unit draws a maximum of 5-amps current you'll want to ensure you install it on either an existing lighting circuit that is rated for that much power... view full answer...
The Pop & Lock # PAL9772 will allow you to retain the existing handle on your Leer bed topper, as long as it meets the following criteria:
• Truck cap must have a frameless, bonded glass door with a 1-1/8" center hole for a rotary latch
• Truck cap or tonneau cover must have a cable-latch assembly
The vehicle itself (not the bed topper) needs to have power locks.
If your vehicle and Leer topper meet those parameters, the Pop & Lock # PAL9772 will work great for you. view full answer...
There isn't a specific formula for where to place your Thule Canyon XT # TH859XT cargo basket on your truck topper, but generally having your cargo centered on your roof provides you with the most stability so I would be inclined to move it as close to the middle of those tracks on your topper as you can.
It does look like you have quite a bit of room still so you may consider using the Extension Piece # TH8591XT which will add 20" of length to the Canyon XT so you can get as much cargo... view full answer...
Installation of tracks like those found in the Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty Roof Rack for Camper Shells # Y01-120B should be on the outside on your A.R.E. CX Classic truck topper. You want to position the tracks as close as possible to the outside edge of the canopy for maximum strength. view full answer...
For your 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500, the third brake light wire for your topper is already run and can be found under your dash in a bundle of wires. I've attached a video to assist you. The wire you are seeking for that topper is the orange chmsl wire (which stands for center high mount stop light). You will simply run a # 16-1-1 wire from that location to your topper center brake light. I recommend using the Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector # DW05744-5 for nice protected connections. view full answer...
When installing the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Module # PP20-702 you will need to connect the yellow wires to both the right and left turn signal (one signal to each wire), and then the green wire will wire into your 3rd brake light on your truck topper. This module can be used on either LED or incandescent bulbs. view full answer...
To wire a brake light only on a truck bed topper/camper shell you will need a dedicated brake light only circuit. Tow package wiring would not work because the brake light circuit and turn signal circuits are together.
So you would either need to find a wire under the truck that is dedicated brake light only or you would need to tap into the CHMSL (center high mount stop lamp) circuit. Check the owners manual to see if the CHMSL is fused by itself or if the fuse handles other functions... view full answer...
Unfortunately, your photo didn't come through, but we get asked this question fairly often. There is a bundle of wires under the brake pedal of your 2012 GMC Sierra that will have an orange wire that should be used to power the third brake light of the camper shell. This orange wire is in the same bundle as the brake controller wires in the photo attached.
If you want to capture the signal at your tail lights then you will use the Curt Vehicle to Vehicle Converter # C56196 to separate... view full answer...
To get the brake and dome light functions on your 2003 Dodge Ram to your camper shell or topper the easiest place to find both is at the third brake light. There you will have the third brake light signal and the bed light/dome light that illuminates the rear.
Use a circuit tester like Hook Probe Circuit Tester part # PTW2993 to identify which of the wires running into the light have power when you hit the brake and what wire has power only when the dome light is turned on. These will... view full answer...
You can install the bike and rack as you describe, but as a final step, you will need to pull the arm that secures the bike to the carrier toward you until you hear two clicks. This will ensure that the front of the bike tire is tightly held against the tailgate, as described in the instructions. I discussed this with my Thule rep, and she said getting the rack into place with a bike attached to it might be kind of awkward, but other than that, she had no problem with it.

Where you install the tracks on your Rhino Rack Heavy-Duty Bar Roof Rack # Y01-130B depends on the width of the bars that you're using in most cases, but you'll also want to make sure that the tracks are able to sit flat on the topper. The bars that come with the # Y01-130B are 59" long, and you'll want to make sure the bars overhang on each side the same distance. I've linked the instructions for installation, but there are not specific instructions for your Leer XR100 topper; you may... view full answer...
I do have an option for you that will allow you to not have to splice into your taillights, but we do not have a product that is similar to the Leer 300200 harness.
The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118384 will connect in line of the factory 7-way already on your F-150. This gives you a 4-way flat trailer connector. To that you can attach the Wesbar 4-Pole Flat Connector w/ Jacketed Cable # W787270. This cable gives you a place to disconnect your wiring if you need to remove... view full answer...
You will need to tap into the Silverado 7-Way trailer connector wiring (or find the wires tucked in around the spare tire if there is no trailer connector) to provide both brake light and dome light power. Please refer to the attached photo. These wires may be taped up together to protect them. I suggest you use a circuit tester like # PTW2979 to ensure proper identification of the wire functions. Often they are color coded but since there is no guarantee that the wire colors will correctly... view full answer...
The Bestop Supertop for Truck Collapsible Bed Cover part # B76317 does not lock, the zippers are all accessible from outside of the truck without the tailgate being down. I am not really sure how a locking version of this cover would work but I do have options for you. The first option would be to minimize visibility of your items inside the cover using the Tinted Window Kit for Bestop Supertop for Truck part # B7632835. The other option would be a hard tonneau cover like the Tonno Pro... view full answer...
We definitely have the wiring parts and connectors to help you out but you will need to do some splicing to accomplish this as there isn't a plug and play type adapter. Here are the parts I recommend:
- 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702
- Pollak Complete Assembly 2-Pole Connector # PK12200
- Deka Heat Shrink Butt Connector Kit # DW05744-5
- 18-Gauge 2-Wire Bonded Parallel Conductor Wire # SWC97FR (sold by the foot)

According to my research there is a yellow wire that terminates and is connected to the stop lamp switch just like the center high-mount stop lamp (CHMSL). Aside from that though I am not quite sure where it terminates or where you can find it routed. Sorry I don't have more than that for you to go off of.
If you aren't able to find it I do have an alternative solution for you though. You can install the Pacer Performance 3rd Brake Light Logic Module # PP20-702 which separates out your... view full answer...
I spoke to my contact at Curt about the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter part # C56196. They informed me that only one side (right side stop/tail or left side stop/tail) of the two wire system needs to be attached to the converter box in order to receive a signal at the brake light wire for the three wire system. Therefore, you will only need to attach the converter box to one side of the vehicle's taillights in order to stop the CHMSL on your Leer topper from blinking when the turn... view full answer...
On a 7-Way trailer connector, the brake lights and turn signals are combined on the same circuit so you cannot tap into the wiring there for a third brake light. If you did, the third brake light would blink with the turn signal.
Normally if you follow the wiring harness back (towards the front of the vehicle) you may find additional wires that you can test with a circuit tester like # PTW2979 if needed to see if there is a third brake light wire there.
You can also use the stop light... view full answer...
If you follow wiring harness feeding the 7-way trailer connector from the bumper up toward the spare tire and peel back the wire loom, you should be able to find an additional blue wire in the harness. The blue wire carries the 3rd brake lamp signal for your bed topper.
For the interior dome light, you can get 12 volt power from the black wire feeding the trailer connector. You'd want to install a switch on the circuit like part # PK34513.
One of the wires would be power, the other ground.... view full answer...
There are a couple of places you can get the correct circuit to use to wire up the third brake light and dome light for your camper shell.
You can use the stoplight switch at the brake pedal of your 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. You will need to use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 to probe the wires and find the one with voltage only when the brakes are applied. You can also consult the owner's manual for the location of the CHMSL (center high mount stop light) fuse and tap... view full answer...
