I've attached the link to a video that shows exactly how it works; it's a pretty cool way to keep from having to worry about carrying a bunch of different keys.
If you send me a picture of they key of your vehicle I can verify with Bolt that it will work... view full answer...
The Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack TS02G is an excellent rack and by adding the Cable Locks and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack part # PTSCLK12 you have the ability to secure the rack to your vehicle and your bike to the rack.
This is as good of a security system as you will find on any bike rack. This works as a great preventative measure to keep your bike safe. If a theif really wants your bike though there are no 100% secure methods available short of taking them inside... view full answer...
I can certainly walk you through the installation of the Cable Locks and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 3 # PTSCLK13. These locks are specifically designed for the Transfer 3 Bike Platform Rack TS03G.
To install the cable lock, you will need to remove the black end cap on the end of the ratcheting arm. Once the end cap is removed, you will slide the cable into the ratcheting arm and the black cap will set in the end of the arm. You will then use the included hardware to secure the cap... view full answer...
The Torx wrench required to remove the integral cable lock on the Transfer 2 bike rack TS02G is not one commonly found in hardware stores, according to my contact at Kuat. But yes, this is what is required to remove the cable lock from the rack.
The reality of bike rack locks, and most other types, is that they all can be defeated by a thief with enough time and determination. The true anti-theft benefit of a lock such as the cable type included in the excellent Kuat Transfer 2 hitch... view full answer...
To ensure the Thule Cable Lock # TH538XT and Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device # THSTL2 have matching lock cores you can either order both of them at the same time with the Thule One-Key System # TH450200 (which comes with 2 matching lock cores), or you can wait to see what lock core numbers you get and if they don't match (which they probably won't) you can order a single lock core to match what you have. view full answer...
While there isn't a replacement pin lock or padlock that will work, B&W has told us the best way to lock the hitch head is by using a cable lock. For that I recommend an adjustable cable lock:
- Python Adjustable Cable Lock # 8419DPF
The reason I like the Python lock is because it lets you adjust the locking mechanism to the length you want to tighten it around the hitch so there is no slack. The lock is also heavy-duty, made with 5/16" diameter braided steel designed specifically... view full answer...
The Saris Freedom 4-Bike Rack # SA4414B is one of my favorites, and so long as you don't have any issues lifting up the bikes, it isn't difficult at all to load them behind the vertical post so your bike is closest to the hitch. The wheel trays are large and you will be able to easily place your bike right in.
You can also get fat tire adapters, but can't get the rack with just one set of wheel holders for fat tires, you do need to get them extra with the Fat Tire Adapter Kit for Saris... view full answer...
They do not make locks specifically for the Reese Q-Slot PS63138 but we have found that you should be able to use part # SA3022 to lock the bike rack to the hitch and part # e98891 to lock the bikes to the bike rack. The cable lock will need to be wrapped around each bike and then secured to the safety chain loops on the trailer hitch. view full answer...
The Yakima RidgeBack 4 Bike Rack, # Y02466, uses the SpeedKnob locking system to secure the rack into the vehicle's receiver hitch. As you turn the knob the anti-rattle wedge on the rack's hitch shank will expand to provide a tight fit inside the hitch.
The wedge is held on with Allen head screws, but with the shank in the hitch it would be impossible to remove. When tighten, the Yakima SpeedKnob can be locked to deter theft. When lock the knob will free spin. view full answer...
In order for the Yakima Lock Cable part # Y07233 to be functional you will need a lock core installed in it. This product is sold without a lock core for people who have other Yakima racks and want to install the same lock core number as what there other racks have.
If you don't want to have to mess with picking out and installing a lock core you would instead want the part # Y07238 as this come with a lock core already. view full answer...
I do have a solution for you, however there is not a lock available that can be added to the Threaded Anti-Rattle Pin # 59915 for your Rola cargo carrier.
At this time Rola does not make a threaded hitch lock that is designed to work with their carriers so your best option is to use a cable lock like the etrailer.com # e98891. What you can do is loop the cable through your carrier and then to the safety chain holes on your hitch to secure it to your vehicle. I have attached a short... view full answer...
Yes, the lock kit part # PTSCLK12 will replace the end caps of your Kuat Transfer TS02G and will give it a cable lock that will slide into the tube of the rack when not in use.
I attached a picture of the lock kit for you to check out as well. view full answer...
The majority of cable locks we offer are substantially smaller in diameter than the 3/4-inch size you are looking for. We do offer various lengths of 3/8-inch diameter cables (some on their own and others with locks) such as the Master Lock # 8256DAT. This is the largest diameter we offer in 8-foot or greater length. Perhaps two units daisy-chained together would suit your application. You would just need to connect one end of one cable to the lock of the other to end up with a total length... view full answer...
The ROLA Dart Cargo Carrier 59550 has a different thread count than any of the other carriers we have (I don't know why everyone avoids a universal solution) so to lock your carrier to your vehicle you'll need to use a cable lock like the Master Lock # 8218DPS and thread it through the carrier basket and the safety chain loops on your hitch receiver. view full answer...
While there isn't a specific lock, what you can do is add a cable lock to secure the Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack for Crossbars # RR42114BF.
You can wrap the cable lock through the Pioneer # RR43164B and around your crossbars or raised side rails if your vehicle has them, which will add security. I recommend going with an option from MasterLock, the Master Lock Tuff Links Chain with Integrated Keyed Lock # 8291DPS.
This will add an extra layer of security for you to... view full answer...
The top support portion of the Cable Lock and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 1 Bike Rack # ATSCLK11011 is indeed made of plastic. I can't say definitively if a thief can quickly break it off with a hand tool as that's not something we try, but it is indeed mostly a deterrent.
For something that doesn't have the same type of lock that can be broken off, RockyMounts has a cable lock that can't be removed with a hand tool, and would be difficult to cut due to its hardened steel, 5/16" width... view full answer...
We do have locks that work for your Camber but no, the Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock with 8 foot Cable, # HRLHPC1, will not work with Thule bike racks, because the Thule bike racks have a uniquely threaded shank for their specific Snug Tite Hitch Locks and Anti-Rattle Devices.
For your Thule Camber, # TH9056, I recommend going with the Snug Tite Hitch Lock, # THSTL2, and the 10 foot Long Cable Lock, # e98891, to secure the bike rack and then secure the bikes to the rack and safety chain... view full answer...
Yes, the lock core that comes with the Cable Locks and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack # PTSCLK12 is the same lock core that comes with the # HLT. If you have a Kuat Transfer TS02G this kit will allow you to lock the rack to the hitch and the bikes to the rack. view full answer...
