24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Easy to install took about 10-15 minutes and was able to hook up to Highlander with ease. Solid product!!!!! Enough clearance for brake lights and enough separation from vehicle!! Definitely recommend silent hitch pin.
Bought this to free up space inside the Vehicle and also to haul items I don't want IN the vehicle , it's preformed wonderfully. It doesn't take away from fuel mileage, not sloppy in the reciever. Nice clearance from the hatch .Highly recommend this item.

24x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
Easy to assemble, nice and solid cargo tray! Bought it with the hitch bracket. Note: no hitch pin included.
OUTSTANDING in every way! As a disabled veteran I was looking for a way to carry my snow blower and lawnmower with my 2020 Grand Cherokee to work and assist others outside my home. I found the etrailer website while surfing and their site offered more information and carrier sizes to chose from. The purchase process was easy and etrailer communicated with me every step after the purchase until delivery. It took about 30 minutes to assemble in my living room and the carrier is sturdy, easy to install and just what I was looking for. etrailer is the bench mark for businesses to model. Thank You

20x59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs
This carrier was super easy to assemble. It is a bit heavy but I was able to mount it onto my hitch alone. I’m using an anti-rattle lock and they work great together.
Easy installation and solid build! We assembled the cargo carrier and installed the hitch very easily! Took it on a trip and it did great, we love it. Thanks so much etrailer!

19x60 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Aluminum - Folding - 500 lbs
I was looking for a cargo carrier I could use to carry a few items on a longer road trip. I wanted one that would allow the back doors to open on a Nissan NV200 (when the carrier is unloaded). This one has enough clearance to allow the doors to open when you don't have gear on it. I was seeking aluminum for lighter weight. I like the design which has an aluminum tray but steel brackets.
Cargo Carrier is just as advertised well made and light weight. Delivered on time. Always nice doing business with etrailer.

Yakima SkyBox 21 Rooftop Cargo Box - 21 cu ft - Black Carbonite
I got this a month before our trip to be sure I was able to get it (assumed supply chain issues) before the vacation season. I didn’t actually travel with this besides a trip around the neighborhood. I’ll update after my 1k mile road trip in July. 1. Delivery - free! Wow. No where else had free. The box was damaged but the Yakima was fine. Also it came with 2 massive crates which told about a day to burn. 2. Install - so the hooks are tight for the VW OEM roof Rack but I got it to work. I do wish the adjustment screws were a bit longer but it goes on tight and won’t be moving. 3. Fit - I was a bit worried about the tailgate hitting when opening but the mounts are fully adjustable so no issues on my end. It isn’t heavy, but awkward. I did put it on myself but two people would be much easier. 4. Storage - I rigged up some anchors and a ratchet system to hang it on the ceiling of the garage. It’s big but it’s light. Just kinda awkward.
After researching several rooftop cargo boxes for family ski and beach trips, I settled on the Yakima Skybox 21. Etrailer.com had the best price and the fastest ship time (approx. 4 weeks). So far after one year of use the box has been a wonderful addition to our family trips. The box attaches to the top of my SUV very easily and can be accomplished in about five minutes once the latches are set to the span of the roof rack bars. The Skybox 21 holds an incredible amount of cargo. I've stored 5 sets of skis, poles, equipment bags and still had room for additional items if needed. I highly recommend the Yakima Skybox 21 and etrailer.com.

17x46 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
The Curt 17x46 cargo carrier was easy to put together, and performed very well. I cut a plywood floor for it and used it to carry a power washer over 120 miles between properties.
I was looking for a basket style hitch carrier that was not too big. Most carriers I saw were 60 inches long. This one is 48 inches and was just what I was looking for. I like everything about this carrier: the looks, style, size and weight. I will be using it to carry beach equipment during our summer vacations to the Outer Banks, NC. The assembly instruction page leaves alot to be desired as there is one picture trying to explain how to completely assemble the carrier. You can figure it out, but will take some time and multiple looks at the one diagram. It took me about 1.5 hours to assemble. Some other facts for those of you looking for a hitch carrier to use on a Jeep Wrangler. I have a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited with the factory installed trailer towing package & 2 inch receiver. You have to use a hitch extender with this particular carrier in order to clear the rear mounted spare tire. The JK Wranglers need approx. 12 inches out from the center of the hitch pin hole. Also, you will not be able to fully open the tailgate as the tire will hit the carrier. If you went with a flat carrier (not the basket style of this Curt one), you most likely would be able to open the tailgate and clear a flat carrier. Troop, the customer service rep who assisted me with my order was fantastic.

23x59 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
A good size and very strong. I like the fact that it has a grated bottom, as opposed to a few bars like many of its competitors. There are many holes and notches present for any customization desired. Also makes for a great chair to relax. I also ordered the anti-rattle pin so as to fasten this tightly to the hitch. IMO that should be included with any of these trailer-hitch-Mount accessories.
This is a nice, versatile carrier; however, we did take it to a welder to strengthen the expanded metal platform a bit based on how we thought we would be using it. We also added reflective tape, and added bicycle mounts for 2 bikes (Thule Low Rider Bike Mounts). We've used it to carry wood, camping equipment, and our foldable kayak + accessories cross-country, to take our bikes out for bike rides in areas away from the house. So, for the price, it's a decent carrier; with a few modifications, we are pretty happy with it overall.

Yakima SkyBox 16 Roof Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black Carbonite
This box is great. After owning it for a year I have been able use for summer roads trips and winter ski adventures. Easy to load on top of a Honda Pilot with OEM roof racks and rails. The dual sided opening makes it easier to tie down everything inside.
After one year of owning and using the The SkyBox 16, I have no complaints. As a family of four, the box holds our luggage, which is the size of carry on luggage for airplanes. The SkyBox 16 is about one inch wider than the Thule 16 cubit box, but the Thule is about one inch taller. I am glad that I went with the wider box than the taller box. The width allows for some stuffing room around luggage. Also, if the box were one inch taller, I could not pull into, nor out of, my garage due the height of my garage entrance. The box fits perfectly on my 2013 Subaru Outback, allowing the hatchback to open and not protruding over the front windshield. The box installs easily on the cross bars and locks securely in place. A feature of the Yakima is that when the locking handle of the box lid is closed, the box lid is fully closed and locked. You do not have to worry about the lid being partially unsecured. This gives confidence when traveling at interstate speeds. The quality of construction and the material is very good. The box does cause a reduction of MPG's of about 2-3 gallons. This is not the box's fault; just physics. The only negative is that the floor of the box is not a smooth/level surface due to the locking knobs that clamp the box to the cross bars. This is more of a nuisance than a problem. Even with that caveat, I still give the SkyBox 16 a five out of five stars. I should also add that purchasing this box through etrailer was the best decision I made; good prices and excellent customer service.

20 x 59 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - 500 lbs
This product is good to go! It's been a year now. It's been thru two deer seasons and a couple 1k mile round trips. I've stood on it with no problem (stay on the bars and not on the mesh obviously). I recommend picking up a hitch-clamp to put on it to entirely eliminate any rattle on the hitch.
Very nice quality. Took one person and two wrench about 15 minutes to install the cargo carrier from box. It is very sturdy and the finish is very good. I really like the added height this specific carrier provides.

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
This was a much needed addition for a drive back to Tucson, AZ from a three month stay in Portland. ME, as we had acquired some extra things and needed more space than our 2015 Honda CRV provided. This fit on top of the rhino vortex aero roof rack I also purchased from e-trailer perfectly. The cargo box functioned as expected, and although we ultimately could have used a slightly larger cargo box, this one worked great for giving us extra space in our car for the drive home. It was easy to mount and opened easily, although it was a bit tricky to load, a step ladder would have helped. It was tough to close, we had to move some stuff around to get it to latch, but I appreciated that it would not lock unless the latches could fully engage, which made me feel like it was going to remain closed while traveling. We wasted no time putting stickers on it, and added more along the drive home, which was fun. We traveled through many different types of weather, it was late spring and was rainy in the beginning of our trip, and very hot towards the end of our trip, and the contents were in perfect condition when we arrived home. There was zero water damage inside, and nothing was damaged from being in the heat. Of course there was some reduced gas mileage and added road noise when traveling, but nothing too unbearable. Also, service and shipping from etrailer was excellent.
The 16 cu ft cargo box fits perfectly on the 2018 Toyota Rav4. Literally takes about 5 minutes, 10min at the most, to set up on the rooftop, and was able to do it without the help of a second person. The box itself weighs very little.

20x47 Reese Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" Hitches - Steel - 300 lbs
This is great cargo basket: solid and secure, easy assembly, well designed. The angled neck keeps the basket well away from the ground; I haven’t had any problems with it bottoming out. My first use was actually on a trip back from Florida following Powered Paragliding training. I was intending to bring back just a Paramotor (which would have stood vertically inside the basket), but ended up bringing back a whole Trike assembly! Mounted it on the basket as shown, and it rode just fine back through four states. Got a lot of looks on the way home! I concur with an earlier reviewer that a neat trick is to use a stabilizer strap from the hitch to the corner of the basket. There is plenty of slop in the receiver when the neck is inserted, and a short ratcheting tie down cancels the rattle effectively. I’m very pleased with this purchase; and while I don’t plan to haul around anything as big as that trike, I look forward to many more years of use from it!
First look - not yet loaded up. Ordered this because the less expensive Curt (C18110) was out of stock. It seems like a worthwhile upgrade anyway, with rounded corners and better tie-down options. Finish seems high quality. Significant play exists in the hitch receiver (Curt C11276 - gap visible in photo) to the point that I ordered a hitch immobilizer and don't plan to test the carrier with a full load until that's installed.

Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket - 47" Long x 35" Wide - 165 lbs
Greetings, I am giving these items 3? Because I was offered alternative products that did not fit together. Originally, I intended to purchase a roof rack cargo basket type and a spare tire holder from Yakima manufacturer that go well together, but one of them wasn’t in stock. So, after 3 weeks waiting time, I was offered alternative items via etrailer website, and I accepted them…after all, they are the experts. I got the recommended items through UPS, then I assembled them by myself. The roof rack cargo basket fit well on my car, but the spare tire holder was not compatible with the roof rack cargo basket. They couldn’t be assembled together. I submitted my claim to return the spare tire holder. Now, I have not achieved my goal to carry my spare tire. Understanding the needs and expectations of your customers is critical to maximize customer satisfaction. I am sure both products are good, but they are not compatible together, even though they were manufactured by the same company. Distributors should know better! I returned one item and I hope to be refunded.
It was a breeze to install on my 2018 Ford Explorer. Two reasons why I bought this. #1 the price for the size of the rack #2 The ability to adjust the universal mounting brackets from front to back or length wise. I had tried another brand rack but the mounting brackets were from side to side and did not line up with my fixed cross bars. I used silicone to seal all the connection points. I have not seen any rust as of yet. I like it so much that I might sell this one locally and upgrade to next size up.I've had compliments on the appearance also. with the plus up sized tires and the rack. It has given the Explorer a sportier look. I definitely would recommend this rack to anyone.

Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Carbonite
I replaced an old Thule box with this. My opinion is that the locking mechanism, the clamping system, and the hinges are superior to the Thule's. Especially the locking mechanism. I used to have to wrestle the Thule box to get things lined up so that I could close and lock the box. And the bonus is that this box was less money (than an equivalent Thule) and eTrailer shipped it for free!
Love our Skybox! It has made camping so much easier - it fits so much stuff super securely. With 2 kids it was a no brainer. I admit it is slightly too long for my 2015 Subaru Outback, but it still works just fine as long as we remember to program the lift gate so it doesn’t open all the way. (Just gotta remember to duck!) Very quiet too, if it wasn’t for the gas mileage, we wouldn’t even know we had it on our car.

Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket - 62-1/2" Long x 37" Wide x 4" Deep - 150 lbs
Surface rust and paint discoloration after one year. One of the plastic hand-nuts started stripping/spinning, so I had to run down the opposing one to get it to hold, which means that the stud sticks into the cargo area. Wind deflector isn't even. The wind noise is very loud, I can't open my sunroof while driving anymore. All told, it's probably worth what I paid, but it's not exactly a premium product.
Very sturdy & strong, didn't quite fit the factory supplied roof rails that came with the vehicle but I got it to work. I did try to contact etrailer about it via email & never got a reply so was disappointed with that. Rack is recommended, filled it full side to side & front to back with luggage & no problems. Little time consuming to install but not bad.

As we said the aluminum construction is really causes this to be a nice lightweight carrier, it might be a good choice if weight is going to be an issue for you. To do the test fit we'll just slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch and we'll line up our pin hole with our hitch pin hole. Once we have those in line we are going to take a standard five eights pin, slide it through and secure it on the other side with the clip.
What our customers are saying:
"The trailer hitch mounted cargo carrier is an outstanding accessory. It allowed us to bring so much more on vacation. The side rails made securing things really easy and the auxiliary taillight kit plugged right into my plug. The service was so great that I just ordered a trailer hitch cover for the winter. Thanks!"
