Jesse has been in business since 1991. He started with small engine repair in a small garage while working fulltime for a farmer after high school. He entered a partnership in 1994 where he continued the repair business. The Partnership dissolved in 1997. He then moved his operation where he expanded to include auto, truck repairs and diesel specialty work. Theresa went to college after high school spending 2-1/2 years at MSU and later transferring to Mankato Technical College. Graduated from Mankato Technical College in 1990 with an accounting degree, Followed by an internship with Kitchenmaster Accounting during the 1990 tax season, was then hired by Crysteel Truck Equipment Inc in 1991 as the Human Resource Manager/Payroll and Safety Director. In 1999 she got her Insurance license and began a 10 year career with AFLAC as an independent sales agent. In 2007 began focusing much of her energy and time learning the Property Preservation Foreclosure Industry and chose to pursue this business opportunity. In 2008, Whirlwind Services LLC was found. During its operation of six years, Theresa found the industries profitability diminished, which brought her to Brake Away Trailers and Auto Care LLC in 2013. Working alongside Jesse, she learned to do oil changes, dismounts, mounts, balances, and repairing tires. Now their new building has four double sized repair bays with hoists. It includes a customer waiting area, a parts display area, an office, a customer check-out counter, bathroom and employee break room, and 5-acre trailer display lot. Highly visible, Brake Away’s location is ¼ mile west of the US Hwy 14 and US Hwy 71 intersection.
