Video Transcript for Inno Roof Rack Installation - 2019 Honda Odyssey

Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam with Today we're going to be taking a look at the INNO square bar roof rack system on our 2019 Honda Odyssey. So, this is going to be a great way to get a lot of that cargo on the inside of your Odyssey up and out of it onto our roof. A lot of the time, some people use cargo baskets in the hitch, but that adds quite a bit of length to the back of your vehicle. So, if you're not really wanting to do that, if you're going to be in some close quarter situations, or you just rather just have it up on top so you don't have to worry about all that, I do think that the system will be a good choice for you guys. But one thing that this is lacking is just the T slot type attachments that we can put on top of it. We won't be able to do so, but a lot of those attachments are just going to wrap around your bars, and these are going to be able to use all of those on them. So, if you're putting on, let's just say, a rooftop cargo box, a cargo basket, maybe even a couple of bike carriers, or even a kayak carrier, whatever it is, I do think that these bars are going to get the job done.

They are made of steel, so there are going to be pretty hefty, and they do have a nice coating on them to match our Odyssey here, but also just to help resist against that rust and corrosion over time.Another thing to think about is just the fact that we have about three rows of seating here. If we're going on a big long trip, that's a lot of people. They're going to have a lot of cargo, so being able to put this up on top here just so they have more leg room, it's probably going to be best. I know when I go on trips, the more room I have, the happier I am.So, let's just go ahead and do some measurements for you on our Odyssey. These are going to be the 58 inch bars.

So, let's do some measurements from our roof. The top of our roof to the bottom of our bar, it's going to be about two and a half inches. And then, from the top of our roof to the top of our bar, it's going to be a little less than three and a half inches. So, just to keep in mind, our sun roof, we didn't have any issues opening and closing that. And also, this doesn't really sit a whole lot higher than the antenna on our back, so I don't think we'll have any issues, in a low parking garage or even your garage, hitting the roof with any of our roof rack.

But always remeasure once you put an attachment on top of there, just to know how much room you have above your roof. So, we do lose a little bit of functionality with the fact that we don't have any T slots on top of our square bars here, but these will be able to get you about 220 pounds of weight capacity, which is a little bit more than what we usually see. Another thing that's cool is just the fact that we don't have to purchase some locking core separately. A lot of the times that's the case. We got to buy this roof rack system and then buy a separate locking core, and then we got to install them. These, we don't have to worry about that at all, and we get two keys with our kit, and it's super easy.A lot of other roof rack systems, you really need a tool.

Sometimes they're maybe even attached to your cap, but you still need a tool. This way, we just have a little flap here, and that's going to control the tightening and loosening of this bottom strap, and it just makes it super easy and a lot quicker. I just know I always lose things, so when it's attached to the product already, I always give it a thumbs up.And it is super easy to get to these bars up and installed. It only took me about 10 minutes, but let's stop talking about it, and let's just show you.So, the first thing that we need to do is obviously take our crossbar, and we're going to take our keys and take our cap off. That's step one. Now all we really have to do is just slide this on like that. You just want to make sure that this little tongue is facing out. I'm going to do that for the second bar, or second foot, too. Cap off. Slide it on. Just like that. And then we can take our tongue and just start twisting it counterclockwise, because we just want to get this rubber strap out of its little home there, and we're going to have to loosen that quite a bit. Well, we can either do that here or up on top there, but I already put our back one on.All we need to do now is just kind of put it up into place. Kind of just sit it up on there. Try to get it as lined up as we can. Slide the little rubber steel strap under like that. It'll sit really nicely, but like I said, we're not going to be able to lift it all the way up yet. That's why we got to just keep loosening this guy. What I like to do is loosen it enough to where I can get it up into that little groove there. And then, once we do that on both sides, then what I like to do is just make sure that they're nice and even with each other, and of course an even measurement between our front and back bar on both sides, just to make sure they're nice and straight, too.So, once it's all in place and everything's nice and even, all you got to do is just turn this little knob here. Once you get it tight enough, it'll secure this bar into the feet, and then you just slap it down and replace that end cap. And then, you can do the same for the cap on our bars. Then we can go ahead and just do that same exact thing for the other side.Well, everyone, that just about does it for a look at the INNO square bar roof rack system on our 2019 Honda Odyssey.

This product exceeded my expectations!! Fit my 2014 Explorer with no issues. Extremely easy to install- took about 15 minutes, these crossbars are sturdy and fit perfectly in the INNO feet that secure to the roof rails- I will be hauling 2 paddle boards and have no doubts that they will travel well. I recommend this product !!

Love this product -they still look brand new after a year - stored them over the winter and they are so easy to put on and take off. I am ready for paddle boarding.

Awesome rack for the money!! I’m sure there are better racks, but wind noise is low and it’s solid.

Rack works great with my 2014 escape carrying a heavy 14 ft old Town and a 10ft kayak. Service is great, was missing 2 endcaps called them up and they sent them out next day.

Quick and easy. This roof rack was shipped quickly. Installation was super easy and it looks like it was made for my truck. Holds my canoe perfectly. Thank you!

by: Alberto11/22/2022

Really great value! No need to spend a lot on Thule. Even those these are square shaped I actually don't hear much road noise. Besides, you're gonna have music playing or riding with the windows down anyway. I would definitely buy these again.

2016 Ford Focus

The kit etrailer put together contained all the parts I needed. It took a little figuring to determine how to put it together, but in total only about 30 minutes from box opening to mounting. Now that it is all sized and spaced, it should be much quicker to remount in the future.

I installed it on a 2016 Ford Focus hatchback. I am planning to carry a Thule Cascade 1700 XT rooftop carrier.

So far it looks good. The price was excellent. While driving, it has a bit of an humming noise, but it is not loud or annoying. I like that it has a full set of keys.

All told, it seems like a good product at a reasonable price point.

After 1 year, I am quite happy with my roof rack. I have used it for many cross-country trips, camping trips, and one move. It continues to perform well. I am glad I bought it. I have made marks with a dark red marker on the door frames to mark where to align the clamps. You cant see them without a bright light at the right angle, but they make alignment fast and easy. Now I can rig the bars and carrier in about 20 minutes, and be certain everything is in the right spot.

Bars are solid - durable and strong with straight forward installation instructions. Only knock is that they are extremely noisy, especially at higher speeds.

etrailer made it easy to find the right product for my car, had fast delivery, fair prices, and good customer service.

First and foremost… YES! I would recommend this product to anyone, so def. read further. Price wise… well below what the more known name brands wanted for a similar setup. Product is well made , but if I had to point out one defect… the rubber shoe the rests between the factory roof bar and the inno feet detaches easily during install (see photo). I will figure out how to securely attatch it when I remove it, because (IMO) it's not one of those units that remains on perminantly.

Still satisfied… good buy… definitely recommend.

Just finished installing on my 2021 Toyota Tacoma. Do not waste your time with the cheap paper tape measure that’s my only negative complaint.. other than that the price was right and it looks great! I had to wait a couple months for back order parts but we’ll worth the wait! I have not driven with it yet so I’m assuming there will be wind noise but I’m used to that with having a Jeep renegade as my last vehicle with the cross bars. I’m excited to haul my kayaks!

Rack detached from my roof on the highway at about 70mph, taking my cargo container with it. Luckily, no one was behind me as it would have very easily caused an accident. Customer service was terrible and didn’t accept a return. Damaged the contents of the cargo container.Do not buy this product or from this company as they will not help.

There are a lot of factors involved when installing and using a roof rack. For the 2018 Ford Focus Sedan the roof rack capacity is 120 pounds although you would want to also check that the manual says for the vehicle. Before tightening anything down you will want to look at the instructions to find the proper spread between the bars and also the feet. Once that is down you will take the included Allen tool and tighten down the bolt. Next you will install the fit kit which will have you start with the foot pad. The foot pad will line up with the holes at the bottom of the foot. These will push into place and are numbered so that the right pad lines up with the right foot. To install the clamp you will remove the screw from the outside and loosely tighten it up to hold the clamp into place. The next step is to measure from the center of the doorjamb you will get the measurement to the center of the bar. You will find this in your instructions. Repeat on the other side. Then you will take the tightening tool and snug it up against the door. You will do this on the passenger side as well. Then you will go back and forth from drivers to passenger side giving about five or six turns each time until its completely tightened down. When it makes the clicking sound you will know its completely tied down. You do not want to over tighten it.

Would have given 5 stars but the rubber feet on the bottom are kind of a hassle. They tend to fall off when the rack is not on the roof rails.

Perfect fit for my '22 Kia Sportage. Works great, took a kayak trip out on the lake 10 minutes after installing. Initial setup was simple and easy. Once all the components are configured and you're familiar with setup, all future removals and re-installs will be a breeze, won't take more than 5-10 minutes to install or remove.

I've had Thule bars on my cars for +30 years (Honda, Toyota and Subaru) using both fixed point and clamp on foot packs. This side rail set is better than any Thule branded foot pack I've used. Still using the same square Thule bars I've had since the 1990s. Everything just went together without any fuss. From out of the box to onto the car took 15 minutes. Wanted to add a photo, but the "add photos" button isn't working.

by: Lynn07/21/2021

Easy to install. I’m happy with the product. Shipping took agile but worth it! I added kayak racks and now I’m able to enjoy my life a little more.

Kia Sportage

These racks are great, I did a ton of research to find something that would work for me since I didn’t have roof rails on my Kia Sportage. There are a lot of small pieces so installation was a little intimidating but it went smoothly. I’m not planning on using them for a ton of weight and more for looks. I’m not sure how they’d hold up as functional racks.

by: Lonnie02/18/2019

I’ve had this roof rack system for about a year now and it has worked consistently well for the entire 12 months and I believe will continue to work well for me for the for seeable future. I gave it four stars initially and four stars now because I do think the fit and finish of the system could be better. That’s not a dealbreaker for its function because it’s excellent in doing the work it’s designed to do but it just isn’t the prettiest.
Great rack, buy it... it will work hard for you.

Picture provided features Curt basket with Rino Bedliner treatment.

I am a fifty-four year old single woman and being able to install these roof racks by myself makes me feel empowered!!
I watched a video emailed with my delivery confirmation of an installation on a similar vehicle all the way through first, and then watched it again as I did the steps myself, pausing when I needed to.
The products appear to be of high quality, were packaged/shipped neatly and it was easy to organize everything for installation. I couldn't be happier!

Waited till I put the new rack to work before review. Used it the first time today and it worked Great. Seems like a very durable rack system. Love that everything is rubber coated so it doesnt scratch the paint on your car. Installing instructions where a little confusing but found YouTube videos from etrailer on how to install exact rack system.

by: Brian 07/29/2022

Very surprised by this rack setup! For the reduced cost compared to other brands I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but I got it installed today and it looks/functions great! Fit was just right for my car. Third vehicle I've outfitted with etrailer and they killed it once again.

Great product so far! Just installed the roof rack on my 2015 Ford Fusion and everything was straight forward. I’m excited to use it while kayaking and traveling!

by: Ben05/05/2019

I did the research for a while looking at many different brands for a good quality crossbar at the right price. I came across this one a Japanese brand. As I read more about the brand it has been popular in Japan. I know Japanese product are top quality.

The crossbar, the footing and keys are made with high quality material. Instruction was very clear. Installation took about 10-15 minutes. I love that no tool required to do the install. No wind noise that I can hear at low speed. Have not tested at high speed yet. Overall, highly recommended to anyone looking for a crossbar from a great less polular brand but half the price of other more popular brand.

Hi, awesome roof rack, I took me a while to find it. Like the design and so far so good, still looks like new

by: Natalie06/16/2021

Missing 2 screws and 2 nuts. The instructions flyer needs to be re-written graphics awful. Looked at a few different Your Tube installs videos no good luck. Inno you must improve the lens quality and lighting when filming. Up close images when installing could help. I did purchase the square crossbars, YES there is some noise. Why did I purchase that style bar is due to the over-inflated price $$ for the aero style bar. I will remove the rack after summer, it's functional and accommodates a luggage rack nicely. The company did a SUPER Job in shipping that item to me in a timely manner. Customer Service gal easy to talk with and dedicated to providing superior customer service.

  • What Feet Can I Use to Mount Older Thule Square Crossbars on My 2012 Toyota Sienna with Raised Rails
  • I have the part you need! Since Thule discontinued their old feet that are compatible with the older square crossbars without a bottom channel, Thule doesn't make feet that are compatible. However, Inno uses the same exact square crossbar dimensions 7/8" tall x 1-1/4" wide as Thule. Also, since the Inno crossbars do not have a bottom channel, they work perfect with your older square crossbars. The feet you need to complete your setup on your 2012 Toyota Sienna with raised rails is the

  • Parts Needed to Install Longer Crossbar Roof Rack on 2020 Toyota Sienna
  • I have a 54 inch crossbar solution from Inno that will work great on your 2020 Toyota Sienna but since the tracks on the bottom of the aero Inno bars that attach them to the rack feet only goes so far across the bar you can't go with longer bars in this style than what's recommended. However the square bar roof racks from Inno attach in a way that does not limit the length of the bars at all. So you could install the 54 inch square bars part # INB137 on your 2020 Toyota Sienna but you'd

All of the roof rack systems made for your car are shown on the linked page. These include racks from Inno that use one of three different attachment components

  • Recommended Inno Roof Rack Feet For A 2020 Mazda CX-5 With Flush Mounted Rails
  • Since your 2020 Mazda CX-5 has flush mounted rails the Inno Feet for Square Crossbars # INFR you referenced wouldn't be able to slip under the rails for mounting. Instead, I recommend the Inno Through Feet for Aero Crossbars - Fixed Mounting Points - Qty 4 # INXS350 and Custom Fit Kit for Inno Roof Rack Feet # IN53FR. These two components will allow you to install some Inno Aero Crossbars # INXB115-123 so that you can complete your roof rack. I've attached a short video below where

  • What Feet Can I Use with My Older Thule Square Crossbars on My 2008 Volvo XC70 with Raised Rails?
  • If you have older Thule square load bars that do not have the bottom channel, there is a way to use a different manufacturer's feet with your 2008 Volvo XC70. For that route, I recommend using the Inno Feet for Square Crossbars # INFR. These feet are designed to fit Inno square bars that measure 7/8" tall x 1-1/4" wide. Since the Thule square load bars have these same dimensions, you can use the Inno # INFR on your vehicle's raised rails. We've had dozens of neighbors who have used this method.

  • Inno Square Bar Roof Rack for 2003 Mercury Mountaineer
  • In order to get the longer bars, you'd order the parts separately. You'd need the roof rack feet, part # INFR and the # INB147. There won't be a cost difference by ordering the feet and crossbars separately. You might also be interested in a fairing like # INA260 would make the rack more aerodynamic, reducing the wind noise. I've linked you to some product description videos for some of the parts I mentioned.
