Detail K2 Plow Length

The Detail K2 Elite snowplow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch for fast, simple mounting. Easily raise and lower the plow from the comfort of your cab with the remote-controlled wireless actuator. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain.

Simple, Hitch-Mounted Installation

This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.

Detail K2 Hitch Mount

To install the Elite snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.

Detail K2 Caster Wheel

The Elite snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.

How to Plow

Detail K2 Adjustable Plow Position

Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.

To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.

When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.

Smooth, Controlled Lifting with Electric Actuator

Detail K2 Elite snow plow actuator

The electric actuator on this plow allows you to lift and lower the blade using either a toggle switch that installs in your cab or the included wireless remote control.

To raise the plow, use the switch or remote to activate the actuator. As the actuator moves along the internal screw, the arm on top of the actuator will pivot, raising the plow blade by pulling the chain that is attached to it. This simple, chain-lifting design has fewer moving parts than other plow-lifting devices, so the setup is less complicated and there are fewer parts to have to repair or replace.

This actuator lifts and lowers the snowplow blade smoother than an electric winch. In addition, fewer amps are required to run an actuator than to operate an electric winch, which means that the solenoid on the Detail K2 Elite will last twice as long as the solenoid on a plow that uses a winch. There is also a built-in clutch that prevents damage to the actuator if you try to raise the blade too high or drop it too low. The electric actuator is built to withstand extreme temperatures and wet conditions with its completely sealed gearbox and housing.

Detail K2 Features

Detail K2 Skid Shoes

The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.

Detail K2 Blade Stiffener

Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.

Detail K2 Trip Springs

Shock-absorbing springs allow the plow to dip forward in the event that you hit an obstruction. This flexibility protects you and your vehicle from impacts.

Love the plow.
Only downside is the outside
bottom corners have bent backwards while plowing. I will have to straighten and reinforce those areas. I plow six different driveways. I was using a 4whlr plow for these before and it would take me several hours to all day, with this plow its less than 4hrs including driving time and I have vehicle heat. I've had many people looking, commenting and asking about this hitch system. I recommend it and give them the etrailer site for information and purchasing advice. This system is very impressive. Thank you.

This thing is well built, it fit perfect, This will come in handy for my needs. Instructions are very clear. If I was to rate the install on a 1 to 10 scale it would be a 5. Fishing the bolts thru the frame with the wire provided was much easier than I expected. I do recommend this hitch.

2006 FordF-150

the install went very good but i do have one suggestion and see if your maker can put a notch in the middle hole to look like the tow hook it would make the install way more user friendly also had a little problem with one of your bolts after i had fished it down the hole the treads were burred and the nut wouldn't go on all the way so i had to fish it back out what a pain that was but got it done and replaced with one of the other bolts that you supplied me with and it went on great. now i have a ? about the hitch height mine only sits up at about 11 inches and change will that work with your snowplows that say they need 13 inches or will i have to do something different? but thanks for the great turn around time in getting it here quick.

by: James10/23/2023

This plow does not stand up to much use. I used it for my long gravel driveway and I was dissapointed in the durability of the plow. The plow bent near the cutting edge and twisted when I accidentally bumped into a rock when turning around. This plow is for light use only and it does not back drag snow well since it is light and does not have any down pressure.

by: Luke T>06/28/2017

This thing has been just fine. It's been a great mount for my winch. Only problem is I've been too lazy to put my bumper back on.. :)

Well made and easy to install. All of the necessary parts were included and the video on the product page made it a breeze to install. Working on my driveway with no lift. I am 73 and used a floor jack to lift it and hold it in place until the first two bolts were in place.

by: Mike B.08/04/2014

This hitch mounted up in less then 10 minutes. I love it and it looks great.

by: Donald 10/30/2023

It has been a good send for moving a trailer around especially in close surrounding

by: Pat09/08/2022

this item bent down to a point that the receiver part is barely off the ground. i contacted you guys and you told me that this was because of the plow itself and was not built strong enough to hold plow up during plowing. very disappointed with this since you sold me both items. cannot plow with it like that. i sent you pictures but you seemed not interested.

Please keep in mind this hitch is designed for only 500 lbs of vertical load. Most plows weigh close to 300 lbs without the weight of the snow.

by: Billy 01/04/2024

Easy to put together, easy to put it on and take it off my truck, works like it should

by: Bob07/22/2019

The hitch seems to be excellent. I have not yet been able to install it because the bolts, etc supplied with the hitch are useless because there is no way to insert them through the frame rails due to the slot id too small to accept the bolts. I am tempted to use the factory bolts, but I am fearful of allowing the factory nut assembly to slide away from the holes making them inaccessible.
I think the better application would be to supply and use stud bolts which would allow installation without risk of inaccessible nuts inside the frame rails. This is what I intend to do when I can purchase the studs

I did want to let you know that this front mount hitch is designed to use a fishwire technique where you route a wire through other holes in the vehicle frame, and attach the correct hardware, then pull the wire back through to place the hardware in the correct location for installation. We do have a an installation video on a similar vehicle for your reference, I have provided a link to this video and the installation instructions for your reference.

I purchased the Front Mount Trailer Hitch because of the tricky parking of my trailer. It has performed flawlessly - if you call saving our marriage while using it to park the trailer by the side of the house. Haven't had to call a divorce lawyer yet!

The hitch was a snap to install using the clever install 'wire' to place the bolts in the exact position. I'm getting old and don't get up and down to easily but installing this hitch was done before I broke a sweat.

Excellent product with easy install - a complete win.

by: Eric04/17/2013
2004 FordF-150

This is a great quality hitch that was easy to mount. Probably would help to have a buddy help hold it in place while mounting, but it wasnt that hard by myself. I finished in less than 1/2 hour and It didnt require any modifications to my 04 F-150 s-crew Lariot 4x4. Its nice to have the option to push a trailer from the front if its ever necessary, but that wasnt my motive for purchasing. I bought it to hold a bike rack and possibly a small motorcycle when towing our travel trailer. Works great, but if you have something extended out low in front of your truck, like a cargo rack, or tires from those 3 bikes, always remember they are there and drive accordingly. Even approaching a steep driveway can be a potential issue depending on your rack design and specific situation. Clearance should not be an issue for average light duty users. Great product and fast shipping from etrailer.com.

I like to tackle these kind of DIY projects but often find myself in over my head. Fortunately I have a couple of friends who bail me out without too much grief. This trailer mount arrived before I expected -nice- and I figured it would be a couple evenings work. One to remove the current fasteners and tow hooks and the second to reinstall w the mount. To my great surprise I had everything done in about two hours. It went together exactly as the video showed and there were no, none, zilch issues. The heads of the fasteners on my truck were 15mm and reusing them was easy. And I did not have to trim the plastic under my bumper!
Great job etrailer.com, thank you!!!!

Well I got time today (6/22/2013) to put this front hitch on to my 2008 F-150. The installation was simple. The only trouble was the Bumper. I Had to take it off but that really wasn’t That bad. The only thing is that the Hitch hangs too low. It is the lowest thing on my truck now. I would like it if it was welded to the top of the cross member instead of under the cross member then I would have needed to cut a hole in my bumper but that would be OK with me. This is a nicely made product and good welds. It will work just fine just wish it was not so low.

2007 FordF-150

Fit the truck perfectly. Shipped quickly and in strong packaging. All the necessary parts were included. The video on the website was awesome and made the install so much easier. I ordered a separate hitch for my car from another company since it was a few dollars cheaper and I am still waiting for it.
I will be (and would recommend) sticking with etrailer in the future.

I can't say enough about how great this hitch was packaged. Nice box, no rattling parts. Installed in about an hour on driveway. Everything went together smoothly. This is a front mount hitch for my F150. I can now use my hitch mount winch on front and rear. This is my 2nd or 3rd purchase from etrailer, would recommend to anyone.

by: Tom W.02/22/2012
2008FordF-150

This product is perfect. Took longer to get my tools out then it did to bolt the hitch to my 2008 F-150. Everything fit first time, without modification. Didn't even need to get out my big hammers! The glossy paint job looks really nice too.

I ordered the hitch and it arrived the next day! Spooky. Almost supernatural like customer service. If the shipping had been any faster it would have arrived before I ordered it! Their web site is massive. Any outfit that puts that much time and money into a web site is serious about doing it right. etrailer.com is definitely a keeper.

by: Ron C.08/18/2016

Worked perfect for my application, I use it to mount a motorcycle rack on the front of the truck so I can also pull my travel trailer!

by: RON H.02/07/2015

I began searching for a front mount trailer hitch receiver and went to a couple of RV supply stores to inquire. The cheapest store was Camping World which I am a Good Sam Member. Their Member price was $199.00 + $16.92 Tax plus Shipping charge between $49 To $69. Worst case would have been $284.92 and I would have to pick it up at their Store. I went online and found the exact same receiver at etrailer.com For $159.00 total price. No Tax and free shipping to my door. It was delivered 4 days later. Easy installation & great service! I just placed another order from them for an excessory I wanted. I highly recommend E TRAILER.COM first for any RV or Sports equipment you need.

by: Rich07/17/2018

With this monster trailer I have, the front hitch is the only way I can get the trailer back into its parking spot. Great purchase and was a piece of cake to install.
Thanks for asking

  • Is Fascia Trimming Required for CURT Front Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2004 Ford Expedition
  • When installing the CURT Front Mount Receiver, # 31352, trimming of front air dam or fascia may be required for hitch installation. Since the Eddie Bauer edition may included some additional appearance panels in the front, it is likely that some trimming will occur. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to take a look at and compare to your Expedition.

  • Front Mount Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Chevy 3500
  • I do have a front hitch that will work on your 2014 Chevy 3500 Silverado, but the Curt hitch # 31352 that you referenced is not a confirmed fit for you vehicle. • Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2006 Lincoln Mark LT
  • The installation instructions for Curt front mount receiver # 31352, see link, do not specify any vehicle modification for installation on your 2006 Lincoln Mark LT. The receiver will sit below the front fascia. I have linked videos and instructions for both hitches for you.

  • Front Mounted Hitch for 2003 Ford Expedition 4x4
  • The Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 31352 is not a fit for the 2 wheel drive 2003 Ford Expedition. It will only fit the 4x4 model. Unfortunately we do not have a front hitch fit for a 2WD 2003 Ford Expedition currently available from any of our manufacturers. The best option is to use something like the Curt Adjustable
