The all-weather Rain-X Latitude wiper blade provides superior visibility in rain, snow and sleet. The contoured, beam-style frame applies even pressure along the entire length of the blade so that it tightly conforms to your windshield. Today on our 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser we'll be installing RainX Latitude wiper blades, part number RX5079278, on the driver's side, and part number RX5079277, for the passenger side. These latitude wiper blades have a UV inhibitor integrated into the rubber to help it withstand the damaging effects of harsh sunlight, as well as having a rubber coating covering all metal parts to keep it from rusting. The beam is also contoured, which allows it to apply equal pressure across the blade to allow for a clean wipe every time. The blade's aerodynamic design helps reduce wind drag and lift while at highway speeds. Now that you know a few things about the wiper blades, let's go ahead and install them. We'll begin on the driver's side. We need to remove the old wiper blade first off the wiper arm.
To do this you'll lift up on the wiper arm, squeezing the tab on the old wiper blade, and removing it from the arm. Now that you have the old wiper blade off, you'll need to install the new wiper blade. To do this, you just slide it over the J-hook part of the wiper arm and pull down. While pulling down, you'll hear the locking tab engage and a small click. We'll go ahead and repeat the same step for the passenger side. That's all there is to the installation of our RainX Latitude wiper blades, part number RX5079278, on the driver's side, and part number RX5079277, for the passenger side, on our 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser.
