T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located beneath your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

I was very happy with the products and service I received from this company. The product was exactly what I ordered and was delivered in a timely manner. I've already installed them on my trucks. I will definitely use them again in the future

1993 Ford F-150

Absolutely outstanding! Easy to install (less that 3 minutes) and worked perfectly. I could not be happier with the product and the service.

Quite well. It was not exactly the correct part for my vehicle and I had to make it work for me. However, I am satisfied with the parts.

Arrived on time. Easy install. Way better than tracing wires, cutting and splicing.

Well ordering from your site was really easy and quick. Also we received our order in just a few days after placing it. Now we are waiting for our appointment with our mechanic to install it. So I'll write another review after that, but so far pretty good.

Easy plug and play with simple installation and plenty of extra wire to go where it was needed

1996 Ford F-150

hitch and wiring harness worked well , installition was quite easy . but i am a mechanic by trade.but it would be quite easy for a novice to do .no drilling required on a 1996 f150.. Thank For a good product.

1993 Ford F-150

Wow. Works as advertised. Easy. Trailer lights work and took less than 5 minutes

Excellent Product.

1993 Ford F-250 and F-350

Great Brake controller.

1996 Ford F-150

I installed the trailer lights connecter adapter into the wiring harness at the rear of my 1996 Ford F-150 today. The wires were exactly were the instructions said they would be located. With some effort after engaging the relief clip I was able to pull apart the wiring harness. Installing the trailer light connecter adapter went easily. I only had to pull lose one wiring harness holder from the frame to give more slack in the wiring harness to make room for adapter to fit. After installation I tested the lights and everything (turns signals, tail lights and brake lights) all worked properly. The quality of the adapter looks great just like it was a factory original part. I expect to have properly functioning trailer lights for a long time now. Thanks.

Easy and simple installation. I am very pleased with using trailer wiring harness.

1994 Ford F-150

Website was best i have seen, great detail, product was easy-breezey to install, only trouble was cleaning dirt from under truck to keep out of my eyes, should of worn safety glasses

The products I ordered were received timely, installed easily, and were made of quality material. I look forward to years of quality service from these items. The service staff members at etrailer are kind, courteous, knowledgeable. I would highly recommend etrailer for your trailering needs. The only recommendation for improvement would be to tweek your on-line order tracking system. I received the items before I could track their whereabouts through the on-line order tracking system. Great site for quick reliable service!

The product worked perfect for me during the period I owned the vehicle. Sold the vehicle a few months ago.

Plug and play...couldn't have been easi er

1994 Ford F-150

This product is just what i needed to connect to my trailer harness. No cutting or splicing, so you get no corrosion. Just unplug truck wire harness plug in this in and you are ready to connect trailer lights. great product . couldn't find this in stores either. saved me lots of time. easy ordering and quick shipping only a couple days and I had the product. Thank You.

Im having trouble with the ground wire trailer lights intermitently work or dont work or some work and not others after investigating found the insulation on the ground wire coming from the product i purchased had come out of the plug at the trailer connection causing the wire to fray and corrode and a few strands of the wire have broke. i have had to add a seperate ground wire to help .

Perfect replacement for a damaged harne ss.

1995 Ford F-250 and F-350

I bought this connector for a 1995 F- Super Duty cab and chassis and it was an exact fit. Plug and play. Thanks etrailer!

1990 Ford F-150, F-250, F-350

A great way to update a trailer plug. No more tapped wire connections.
My taillights didn't work anymore and now they do.
I will recommend this to others.

It works great and I recommend it to any of my friends that pull trailers.

1994 Ford F-150

Product works great and installed perfectly just as the instructions said it would. Install only took about 5 minutes and was super simple. I didn't need any tools except for a Flathead screwdriver in order to release the old crappy clips that were on my truck wiring harness. My truck didn't have a trailer light hookup when I bought it so this item worked perfectly for what I needed and was way easier than splicing wires and making my own. Defiantly worth it and would buy again if I buy another truck and it doesn't have trailer lights.

Solidly made. Will hold up over time.

This thing is awesome! Took a grand total of 5 minutes to install and route to my bumper where it was needed. Don't forget to get a few zip ties to secure the wire where it needs to be!

Still working great! Im surprised the little plastic cap over the end is still in tact, but it is!

A waste of money and most important my time, Put it in my old bronco to keep the original wiring
Super easy to install just unplug and plug the T and good to go. never use my bronco to pull trailers had it only as an emergency so on December 2018 I need to pull a trailer for my kids quads the wire didn't work, ended up heading to Autozone to buy a universal and spacing my wires in my bronco. Really disappointed with your product.

Having an older truck that’s been temperamental about the rear lights lately, I was very pleased that this plugged straight in and worked right away with no disruptions. I was dreading replacing a previous owners abomination of electrical wizardry. All I had to do was snip the old 4 pin wiring away and clean it up so as not to short anything out, then plug in the adapter to the truck’s wiring harness and to the new 7/4 pin plug and I was done.

1993 Ford F-150

Perfect fit for my 1993 Ford F-150. Easily installed with no hassle. Works perfect and solved the trailer light issue.

Still working perfectly. No issues whatsoever!!!!
James E - 02/16/2018

Easiest wiring install in my life. Unplug one connection and insert the T connection. Plug it back in and voila! Had the bracket to install on the rear bumper, found a spot, drilled a couple holes and it’s there forever now. Couple tie wraps to clean it up and you’re done in 10 minutes.
Works perfectly and should last as long as the truck does.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 1996 Ford F-250
I am not sure what that plug is for that you found on your 1996 Ford F-250. It does not match what the custom harnesses we have available for your truck will plug into, and based on your photo, it looks like you found it near the truck's rear tail lights. The correct plug to install a wiring harness into should actually be located under the truck, along the driver's-side frame rail. It will be a round plug like the attached photo. Once you find the factory plug on your F-250, I recommend...

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Lights Not Functioning When Headlights are On
It sounds like there is too much amperage being drawn on your trailer when the headlights are on and it is too much for the trailer so everything shuts off. This could be because of a bad ground somewhere. First thing I would do is check the grounds on the trailer for any loose wiring and corrosion and fix as necessary. If the grounds are good you might need to convert your trailer lights to LED lights so as to minimize the draw on the trailer light circuits.

  • Trailer Brakes Engage When Headlights of1997 Ford F-250 Turned On
Since you've already tested the trailer connector on your truck and the trailer also has issues when connected to another tow vehicle it sounds like the problem is likely with the trailer's wiring. Check the trailer's wiring for any damaged points. You'll also want to make sure the trailer connector is clean, both on the pins and the back where the wiring is connected to it. The issue could be that the connector is wired incorrectly. I've attached a diagram showing the standard wiring....

  • Purpose of White Wire on Tow Ready T-One Connector # 118316 on 1989 Ford F150
The white wire seen on the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118316 is the ground. If you are needing a feed for reverse lights, your trailer will typically have a 5-pole trailer connector on it. You can use an adapter like part # 20036, and the extra blue wire would be tapped into the reverse light circuit on the truck.

The remaining wires would connect as shown in the diagram I have linked to below.
