Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness. The connection point for the 4-way tow harness is located behind the rear bumper, on the driver's side. The ModuLite plugs into the factory wiring harness within the driver's-side storage compartment in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the ModuLite, insert the included fuses and relays into your fuse panel as indicated in the instructions.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

This kit was perfect and easy to install. Truly "plug and play!". With the bracket that etrailer.com also carries, I made a small mod so the original cover plate still fit and I could use the plug cap. But the kit is really all you need

Product was Quality and installation instructions were good. The only improvement is when connecting the Tow Cable Harness it’s best to detach the Vehicles Cable from the frame (Pic) to release the protective cover due to there being 2 Tabs that release different ways in different directions on the Plug Cover. When I plugged the cable into my trailer’s the lights lit up like a Christmas Tree, Great Job!!!

The harness for the trailer lights was very easy to install and seems to work great. Only took abot 20 minutes to install.

Item arrived in a timely manner. Instructions were easy to follow. Installed in about 30 minutes. I notched the removable cover where the 7-pin RV socket would go to allow room for the wire to come over the top for a clean install.

"That was easy".. Worked like a charm. Glad I went this route instead of the dealer. Saved a lot of $$. The only thing was trying to figure out which one to get on the website. I was confused. I knew I needed a 4 point connection. My vehicle had a hitch but no harness so when it asked for a tow package I wasn't sure what to select. I ended up going with the product that seemed to be used the most and had the most reviews. I made the right choice. The directions were real clear... Getting the plug off the wire harness on the vehicle was a little tricky. You have to detach the plug on the vehicle by pulling the clip out of the hole in the frame. Then the clip thats attached to the plug needs to be removed (don't break it just unsnap it). This will release one end of the plug. Then on the other side is a little snap you have to press. Once you plug in the new harness you can reconnect the snap to hold the two connections together and reattach to the frame. I should have taken pictures. Maybe someone else that reads this could do this in the future and share.

1 year follow up - I havent used it much since last summer but the only problem I incurred were a few burnt fuses. It wasnt anything wrong with this product which I thought initially but the trailers had bad grounds. I had to test the harness on other trailers to narrow it down to the trailers. After fixing the trailers grounds I didnt have the problems again.

Carrol, I will wait for my ultimate review because I don't usually just comment until I have the entire experience so for now i will just rate it as average. With that your timing couldn't be better so depending on how your company responds to this message will altimatly decide how I rate your product. It came quickly good. I installed it today and the instructions were garbage. Not one photo or quantity of the relay or dues placement was correct for my vehicle. It was more suited for a Honda Pilot. I have a 2014 Honda Ridgeline. The directions were very inconclusive and even though I believe it is installed correct. It took a tremendous amount of guess work. If the instructions were clear the entire installation would have taken about 30 to 45 minutes but since they were not it took me two hours and I still have questions. With that if you have a technical person I can talk to so I know the placement of the relay and fuses are correct I would appreciate a one on one conversation with this individual. Just to clarify a few things. If i get that I will give you a good rating. If not it will be a very poor one. Thank You

The Trailer Wiring Harness works like it suppose to. It was a easy and fast hook up. The price is so much less than buying a manufacture part from Honda. I would recommend buying this product from etrailer.com , it would save you a lot of money.

I have a 2010 Honda Pilot and I purchased a 4 Flat wiring Harness so i could tow a log splitter. The wiring harness was very easy to install. The printed instructions that came with the kit alongwith the video on etrailer's Product page made it a snap to identify and install the relays and fuses. The plug that attaches behind the bumper was also easy to attach. All in all, I was impressed with this kit and will happily say that etrailer did good by me. Thanks, etrailer!

I was skeptical if this would work, my 2011 Honda Pilot came with a receiver hitch but no wiring connection for trailer lights, go figure anyhow i went ahead and ordered this wiring harness kit and i must say that this was so simple to do that my 14 year old son installed it within 20 minutes and that included screwing the item #18144 (Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat) (which is sold separate) to the bumper. Was very impressed with how easy it was, my Honda already had everything in the wiring to "plug and play". Thanks again E-Trailer for another fine product and also thanks for shipping it out so quickly.... You guys rock *****

I put this in a 2011 Honda Pilot. Very easy job. The attachment of the mounting bracket (#18144) which is sold separately was tough just based upon screwing the self tappers into metal. The 4 pin connector needs some work to go in and stay in the mounting bracket but it will does stay firmly in place. Videos are great. I wish every company put the effort into their products and support that etrailer.com does.

Have a 2010 Honda Pilot, part arrived quickly. With the Youtube video it was a breeze. I was picking up a trailer at [retailer] and actually put this part on the Pilot in their parking lot. They wanted to charge me 130 to install this 4 prong piece. Saved close to $80 bucks doing it myself. Like most people getting the cap off took some effort at first. You really need to remove the blue clip before removing the cap. After removing the clip the cap came right off. Just snapped back in the blue clip and put it back into it's spot. 1 minor issue: the set came with 2 - 20 amp fuses' and 1 - 7.5 amp. Needed 2 - 7.5 amp fuses for this kit and 1 - 20 amp fuse. I had a spare fuse available so it wasn't too much of an issue.

2011 Honda Pilot

As others have said, Honda wanted an incredible amount of money for their harness kit. I saw this online and read the great reviews and decided to give it a shot. Let me say this is probably the best product for the best price I've seen in a long time. The kit came very well packaged with clear instructions. I watched the video online once during the week, but it wasn't really necessary with the included instructions. I completed installing it myself in about 20 minutes on my 2011 Pilot, and it works perfectly. The only suggestion I can offer is to try and make the pictures in the instructions a bit lighter. They are dark and kind of hard to see detail. I had to count the fuses in the picture and compare it to what I saw in my car to figure out where everything went, but it was a minor complaint. All in all, this is an excellent product and very well-made for an excellent price. I'd recommend it to anyone regardless of technical knowledge or level of experience. One tip for the would-be buyer: remove the harness plug from the blue clip under the bumper to remove the harness cap. That way you can pull it down and remove the cap much more easily than trying to do it while it's still attached.

2011 Honda Pilot

Purchased this for my 2011 Honda Pilot and installed it myself. I encountered two difficult problems durning the install. Removing the protective cap on the factory harness was tough as was getting off the cap on the auxiliary fuse box. It took me hours along with a couple of phone calls to etrailer but I finally got both of them off. You just have to keep working at it. My suggestion is have the Honda dealer remove them for you becasue the rest of the install is pretty easy. The viedo is very helpful but if you have a 2011 Pilot it takes a 20 amp fuse in the engine compartment fuse box that is not part of the viedo but the instructions show you where to put it. Shipping was fast, the price very good and the product worked. I got a lot of satisfaction out of doing this myself and did not have to pay Honda $300+ as referenced in other reviews for something they should have included as standard equipment.

  • Fuse/Relay Locations for Tekonsha T-One 4-Way Wiring Kit on a 2013 Honda Ridgeline
Thank you for the question! I reached out to my contact at Tekonsha who gave me some really great insight for the T-One # 118491 on your 2013 Honda Ridgeline. Basically this kit was built for a Honda Pilot and afterwards they ended up finding out that it also fit some model years of the Ridgeline which is why the pictures are for the Pilot and the instructions for the Ridgeline are a bit vague. Since you have the 4-Way kit you actually only need 2 of the 20A fuses and 1 relay. The...

The Wire harness I recommend for your Pilot is the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118491.
