This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will have to remove some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to the power cable stud on the driver's side and connect the wire using the ring terminal. Then insert the included 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in your trunk.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.I have a 2019 Volvo XC 90. It took about 2 hours to install The Drawtite hitch and taillight kit. Taillights worked perfectly. No programming the cars computer. Total price etrailer: less than $300. Volvo wanted $1,600.
etrailers sales person: home run. Very nice.
The directions are OK except you have to remove the "threshold" before you can remove the side panels. Also there is a little cap over the anchors that has to be removed to gain access to the hold down bolt. The battery on a Volvo 2019 is not in the engine compartment, but under the spare tire. Much easier to tie into.

I went to use it after a winter of not using it and all the lights on my trailer worked perfectly. I had a garage install it for me.

Be careful loosening the bolt to the negative battery terminal. The little box connected to the negative cable is only soldered or brazed together and while loosening the nut mine broke in half, rendering my car undrivable. Of course in the video, the nut is very easy to get off and there is no mention of the fact this piece can break.
I'm also not sure why the loop connector doesn't fit the battery terminal when this harness is supposedly made for the vehicle.

everything worked perfectly, i was very happy with how easy this was to install and how well it worked. it did not mess with any of my car sensors or anything so i am very please. i would totally buy again if needed. directions could be a bit better in the box but youtube had some quick and easy help to make it work well.

This was incredibly easy to install with the online video. The wires were all plenty long enough which is where a lot of companies cut corners since copper is very expensive. Thanks for selling a great product, it is appreciated.
Nicholas - 03/14/2019The wiring fits perfectly and is easy to install. I would have given 5 stars if the instructions were easier to read/see. I couldn't even tell what the pictures were because the quality was so bad. I had to take interior panels off and feel around to find where the plugs were.
