Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove the tail lights to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.The parts are high-quality, but the video about the harness installation was a bit misleading. The process is definitely NOT "plug and play" as claimed early in the video. The work is doable for an average joe, But it irequired me to drill two holes in the body of the car, make multiple wire splices, attach terminals, buy and use a heat gun, and to snake 15' of wire under the car around suspension and exhaust components. There is no world in which it is appropriate to call that plug n play . Need to do a better job of setting expectations. But the product and customer support are very good.
Good quality products and hardware. My only complaint is the shipping policy... I got my parts in a fair amount of time, but because I didn't elect for one of the more costly shipping options, I saw my "order received" status for days and had no information on a ship date other than a potential 2+ week possible delay. I'll recommend the company and the product with this disclaimer. I appreciate the tutorial videos and the easy web site navigation. Please just get better on the shipping/processing communication.
This set up is easy to install, and has worked perfectly the entire time. I even purchased an adapter for the original 4 pin, to use it for 7 blades, and no issues whatsoever. The fun part of course is getting the black power wire all the way to the front of the Jeep. Now I will caution that I have at 5.7L Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and getting the black wire to the battery was a little tricky. I ended up using some fishing wire to get to the undercarriage through the hollow rectangular casing that protects the other sheathed wiring for the vehicle. I have attached a photo for simplification. The rest was as easy to install as the video showed.
The T-One connector for my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee worked great once installed. The installation of the wiring plugs, behind the tail lights went smoothly. The power wire that had to be run from the rear left corner of the Jeep to the under hood area was more difficult. It took me over an hour to find suitable locations to secure the power wire along the under-carriage so it wouldn't get burned by hot lines and exhaust pipes. The photos in the installation instruction sheet were very blurry and dark making them useless. Fortunately the online instructions from the etrailer web site were very clear. The Draw-Tight hitch was very easy to install. I used my floor jack to raise the hitch under the Jeep, which was backed onto portable ramps. I took me about 30 minutes to install the hitch and it looks great. I have enclosed photos of the four-way plug installed on the new Draw-Tight trailer hitch. Don't forget to order the four-way plug mounting bracket (P/N: 18144) as it is not included with either the hitch or the wiring kit. I highly recommend these products.
Went to the Jeep dealership and they wanted $800 just to activate the trailer lights! Went to etrailer.com and got the wiring harness for less than $100! Excellent instructions and took only half an hour to install the wiring harness. Will purchase future products from them and give them lots of referrals.
Easy to install hitch , very straight forward wiring harness
Moderate to Easy installation for a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee if you're a bit handy. Pick up extra zip-ties, I used twice as many zip-ties as they supplied. When running the power wire, I followed the tail light wire grouping from the rear to the engine bay and had about 1ft of wire to spare. To reach the engine bay I had to partially open the front passenger wheel weld to follow the wire grouping and run it through the wire opening.
The trailer wiring kit fit perfectly and it functions well.
Perfect fit for my 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Easy to install and shipped quicker than i expected. Will use these products for other vehicles in the future.
I bought this harness for a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The quality of the wiring harness is excellent. All the connectors are exactly like the OEM Jeep connectors. All the parts needed were included and fit exactly right. The instructions could be a little more detailed but were good enough to get it done right. The instructions said the battery was in the trunk but that is not the case. The battery was under the passenger seat. I ran the power wire inside the vehicle to the rear bumper and then down to the harness. The length of power wire was still plenty long enough and all the needed parts were provided. It took about 2-3 hours total to install this harness. I recommend this harness and would buy from etrailer again.

Wiring harness is a nice product but the route to take from battery to rear bumper was not for the novice. I’ve wired many vehicles from radios to alarms and I knew how to do this. The wiring route should be better described and pictures of attachment points clearer.

This is my second time I have purchased this product. With each new Jeep vehicle I buy this product.
Installation is involved but the instructions are clear.
All the supplies are included to complete installation.
Extra zip ties are helpful to have onhand to secure the wires to the wiring harness under the vehicle.
You need to be able to access under the vehicle - a lift would be helpful if you have access to one.
This wiring harness works well.
If there is a short in the trailer lights - it will blow the fuse (by design) so have extra fuses ready. Then trouble shoot to find which trailer light is causing the issue.

Installation took a little time, but the kit works perfectly and is as described. The online instructional video etrailer.com has on the website made install a breeze (even for an average DIY-er).
Great product! Worked as described. Love the “plug and play” aspect. Not having to cut or tie into factory wires and harnesses is a huge plus with today’s vehicles. Took about 2 1/2 hours to complete the install. The etrailer videos were helpful as well! Would definitely recommend these products!

The Curt Class III (C13182) trailer hitch was difficult to install on my 2018 eco diesel Grand Cherokee. I had to drop the DEF tank shield and the DEF tank--which was what I expected. What I didn't expect was the DEF tank shield would not fit back in place after the hitch was installed. You'll need a big hammer to beat the DEF shield back to where it belongs! Unfortunately the videos don't show an installation on a diesel and the instructions gloss-over a diesel installation, only saying the DEF tank and shield need to be dropped in order to install the hitch. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most difficult, I would rate this installation as a 6. After the installation was finally completed, the hitch looked good and it works good.
