Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the floor covers, cargo trays, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, you will have to route the harness through the jack storage compartment to the center of your vehicle. Afterward, locate the fuse box under your hood and insert the provided fuses.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.I received my package with everything I ordered and the hitch receiver seems to be well built thankfully. However when I received the package it was severely damaged and open. It appears that no packing was added to the box to take up the dead space around the hitch. I would hope in the future etrailer would do something to remedy this.
The wire harness was packaged in a box and inside a larger box containing the trailer hitch that I ordered. Both boxes were damaged and somehow the wire harness was removed from it's own box and laying inside the hitch box. I did not notice any damage and haven't installed yet to see if the harness is working properly. I would strongly suggest packing the smaller items in a separate box to eliminate this issue. Ordering, delivery, and communication were outstanding from etrailer.
Jenny N - 05/05/2022Great harness and it looks good with the bracket to keep it in place. My only problem was being unable to locate the back up sensor wiring to connect to the harness. I’ve watched your videos but none of them include locating and connecting the “blue” wire harness. I dug around and followed my truck’s sensor wire but I was unable to locate the connector. My guess is it’s buried behind the jack holder which makes it inaccessible unless you remove the entire panel, not just peel it back like in the videos.

I am not fussy because the receiver is below the plastic facia on the bumper. The "estimate" from the dealer for a "Factory" hitch was over $2K'
I figure I had a pretty good payday yesterday!
The ONLY part I had a problem with, was getting the 4-way flat to mount in it's associated bracket. The principle is good, the "Chinese Fingers" thing, but the nibs on the flat were a but too much, or conversely, the shoulders on the bracket were a bit close. Maybe younger and stronger fingers could get it done. At any rate, a little dish soap and carefully pulling with pliers got it done, I think!
I had dealer install a transmission cooler so as to not void my warranty. Yes, it was pricey, but, still less than having to void warranty as the cooler is required for trailer towing capability. Electrical was simply a plug in job. Took longer to get the panels off the inside than do the job, Nice!
It was nice to see fuses in the kit, however, using only the 4 way flat, they weren't necessary.
Overall a very nice accessory.
A very solid and beefy tow package. My mechanic had no problem installing it. I did not give five star because the carton the tow bar, wiring harness and the locking package came in was punctured on three sides with the wiring harness box was mangled beyond belief. I read some of the low reviews and when my box came it was what they said it was, holes everywhere but all the pieces were there and it looks clean. For the price and the quality I would recommend this product.
Straightforward instructions. When removing the screw under the metal cargo hook, use a socket with a screw head to begin to loosen it. I stripped the head and ended up just installing the harness without pulling the panel off. It can be done and it is a bit of a hassle as the connector is an inch away from the opening and you need to connect the two pieces with one hand. Just feel for ridge on the connector and marry that to the harness. Everything else can be done easily without the panel being removed. No need to use the included screw to drill another hole for the ground. The video has a good location for it with a preexisting screw.

Paul. - 04/14/2022Box came damaged is an understatement (see photos). I'm hoping none of the bolts were lost or the wiring kit was damaged. But it is a bulky item and it's typical for damage to box. Off hand, I'm thinking everything is ok.
The etrailer.com website was easy to use and had helpful installation videos. The trailer hitch and wiring harness arrived quickly, within a few days. I highly recommend etrailer.com!
Great purchase as usual. This us the second hitch/wiring harness that I have purchased from etrailer. The resources on the website make installation simple even for a novice like me.
Installed as per instructions even though I could not remove one of the suggested screws (cable tie down - not suppliers fault). Still figuring out what to do with the 4 pin connector as no suggestions or accessories were offered by supplier hence minus one star.
Wire harness works great. Name of product is misleading as it is for installation in a vehicle that does not have a factory tow package. The how-to video is amateurish with several errors in it. Like all how-to videos this one omits the single most difficult procedure, in this case, releasing the car's white electrical connector so it becomes accessible.
Sierra K - 01/21/2022Great product $800 cheaper than what the dealer wanted to charge me. Was easy to install with the video on the trailer hitch and wiring harness. Was stated that the foot sensor for the tailgate may not work with this trailer hitch but on the 2021 pilot AWD the sensor is offset so it still works. work Sensor is located at parked in pic. I think the sensor is only offset on the AWD models.

This is amazing. The video was extremely helpful. Lucky for me, I didn’t have to drill any holes to insert the wiring for the lighting harness. This system is perfect!
Straight forward installation of hitch and wiring harness on our 2022 Honda Pilot if you just watch the videos for guidance. Some have mentioned that the wiring harness didn’t include all the necessary fuses, but this one did (30a and 2 20a).
Box was destroyed by UPS, but the trailer hitch arrived intact.

Super easy for someone with very little mechanical experience. Watched videos on YouTube but the one on y’all’s website was the most informative. Took an hour for hitch and harness and that was because being very careful since this vehicle is new
