I haven't used it yet. The receiver seems solid, well made and came with the installation hardware. It also arrived earlier than expected, which was nice. Price wise, it was on the expensive side, but oh well, I guess I didn't compare that much. Lesson learned.
Great hitch! It shipped on time and installation was very easy, took less than 5 minutes. I will use it to tow a 4X8 trailer. Very straightforward and simple process. Etrailer website made it easy for me to make sure the hitch fit my vehicle (2006 Dodge Dakota).

Very easy to put on less than 10 minutes to hook up excellent product very well pleased with my purchase would buy again. Looks great pulls great I have fold my 16' dual actual landscaping trailer fully loaded no problem pull the 18' professional basketball no problem excellent hitch highly recommended.
This is way better than paying $342.56 for the dealership to put one on for me when i bought my 2011 dakota 4X4. I timed myself when installing this hitch. just under 9 minutes looks great, works good too. Wou will not be displeased with this buy!!!
Previous posts complained that 3/4” ball hitch flange bolt was hard to thread in to receiver. As a precaution I chased the threads of hitch with bolt prior to mounting. I found it easier to fasten down loosely bumper bolt and then put in frame bolts.
Top bolt threads a little difficult but. Greased it and then scrwwee down ok . fit perfectly. Great deal along with the tail light wiring. Easy to install
I bought one of these a year ago. I used it to pull my fishing boat back and forth to the lake. It worked awesome and I never had any issues with it. I would highly recommend!

This style of hitch was very easy to install, because it bolts right to the frame and to the rear bumper. And it is class III--hard to believe! That was why I bought it. This can be easily installed by the individual with a little common sense, except for one significant problem: the torque that is required for all of the bolts. I believe that although I torqued the center bumper bolt to about 260 foot pounds, and the frame bolts to about 185 foot pounds, the hitch will stay in place. The manufacturer calls for torques that are much higher. The average repair shop will not have a torque wrench that is adequate for the torque required by the manufacturer. I took mine to two different repair shops, and neither had a torque wrench that would go that high. Still I've used the hitch a few times, and it has performed well.

comments regarding this particular hitch receiver from other vendors and problems with the large bolts and threads. Not so with this product. All is good
and I am satisfied.

This is the third hitch I've purchased from etrailer and as with the others this installed with a minimum of time spent with great results. If I would have one suggestion it would be to Curt to send the hitch with a standard Class 8 3/4-10 hex bolt instead of a flat head as where the hitch mounts there is no taper to match the bolt. Other than that it was a class act.

been working great no problems
Had to chase the threads in the 3/4 x 10 hole. It was full of powdercoat. Other than that, easy install, and does its job correctly.
I received fast service and item was as described. I will use the hitch along with a bed extender to carry my 12" kayak in the bed of my p/u. Thank you very much!

It still works fine, heavy duty, high quality!
45 mins after it arrived by ups hitch and wiring were installed. Real easy install. Not to awful happy about the goofy Allen head bolt that goes through the bumper but it works I guess . Not much of a surface to hold its torque but we'll see after some use.

Very heavy rust hear at the beach powder coating was not the way to protect this item. A Good primer and epoxy paint would be much better.
Let me begin by saying that etrailer.com is one of the best places to order parts from online and this review is for the product that I ordered. This trailer hitch has a major problem!
I saw this hitch and was impressed on the ease of installation and such a compact size....not having to do a major installation was REALLY enticing. Received the order in a few days, went out to install it and then the nightmare began. Started threading the large top bolt and within the first two threads it became hard to turn. Checked to make sure it wasn't cross threading...no, it's good...turned some more and it was really tight. Okay, almost tight...bolt bottomed out before it seated! Grrrr! Removing it was the most difficult bolt I have ever removed! Almost stripped the alan socket wrench...breaker bar...penetrating oil...heat, you name it! Finally got it off and noticed that bolt threads on the tip had broken off and bunched up on themselves. Stripped the threads on the hitch.
Called etrailer.com and they confirmed that they have had problems with that hitch and would send out a new one. Got it within a few days, pulled it out of the box and tried the bolt again...started out the same way. Many phone calls, internet searches and just plain frustration lead to just buying a tap...not everyone has a 3/4-10 tap! Chased the threads and Presto! The bolt threads all the way to the end...what a concept! Why not have the guy doing the QC do it at the factory...Oh! No! Let's just let the customer deal with it...we need to get these out so we can go home and... Really!!

The hitch was easy to install. Makes a more solid towing area than just the bumper. But my truck is not up for pulling heavy trailers. But it is handy for smaller trailers or my car hauler when empty ,Or small camper trailers.
It is nice to just change the receiver to which ever one I need for that day or times use. It does suit my needs for this truck.
Great product! Quick shipping! It took longer to find the tools than to put it on! Can not wait to take my camper out!
