Could not use. This is not the correct part for the T-One vehicle wiring harness (118266). The website stated this one fit my Frontier and the part number called out in the wiring harness did not, so I ordered this one. etrailer order checker did not catch it either. I was able to find the correct bracket locally.

Comments
I have seen that part # PK12711U
Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware - Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End
$5.72
is a better alternative to this bracket. The oval shaped holes make it more compatible with more harnesses. I am glad to know that found something that worked for you.

I read several reviews beforehand that stated the bracket is a little thin and would flex when connecting the trailer lights, so I ordered two of these and coupled them together to make it a stronger bracket. (Just have to open up the corresponding holes in one of the brackets so the screws will still feed through. Now it's much stronger and won't bend at all when making a connection. I decided to mount the bracket sitting on top of the bracket weld of my Draw-tite hitch so that it didn't hang so low below the hitch and risk getting damaged coming off a curb or hitting a low spot in the road. I have a 2011 Toyota Highlander and used an Exacto knife to cut out some of the plastic body panel so the harnessed wiring would fit through. Looks almost factory style to me. And it works great!

Works great!

Disappointed! The suggested bracket does not allow mounting of my 7 pin plug. Holes do not line up and overall the bracket is too small to even drill me holes. This has stopped my install completion. I am being sent another bracket, but who knows when it will arrive. I was told it could not be expedited.

Purchased this to use it with product #118275 7-way harness and the holes did not line up perfectly. With a little dremel help, enlarged the holes and installed it beautifully.

I modified the bracket to facilitate installation of 7 prong adapter on 2006 Expedition. Had to use some heat to change the angle to 45 degrees, and cut a couple slots for the clamps, but works when nothing else did. Clamped directly onto the tow bar, and still sturdy after 800 miles.

The mounting bracket that we recommend for part # 118290
Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector
$104.81
which is the harness for a 2019 - 2022 Subaru Ascent would be part # PK12711U

$5.72
.

Does not fit the Tekonsha T-One 7-Way that it is recommended for. You get one screw at best.

The holes for this bracket are two and a quarter inches apart. The 7-way wiring harness part # 118290
Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector
$104.81
for the Subaru ascent holes measure two and nine sixteenths apart on center. I recommend bracket part # PK12711U

$5.72
for a better fit.

A simple part… however, I have ordered hitches, wiring harnesses and other odds and ends. I buy from etrailer because they always have the right part, great installation instructions and videos. The quality is always spot on and the service is fast and helpful. Why go elsewhere and hope things are right when buying from etrailer you know it’s going to be.

- 18138
by:

This part is good in itself but there is another bracket that was not included that I needed. Pointed out on the packaging but not very plain on the website. I cut this one, drilled some new holes and got it to work.

Comments
If you are not wanting to deal with the drilling, we do have some additional brackets that do not require drilling. These brackets part # 18140
No-Drill Mount for Electrical Mounting Bracket - Short
$19.68
and part # C57202
Curt No-Drill Bracket for 6-Way or 7-Way Round Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket - Long
$18.91
would be installed on along with the bracket part # 18138.

Comments
I have gotten some measurements of this bracket and some of the harness that you had purchased [part # 118287
T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector

]. The brackets mounting holes are just slightly off from the mounting holes for the harness. I suggest purchasing part # PK12711U
Mounting Bracket and Installation Hardware - Pollak 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector - Vehicle End
$5.72
instead. This bracket has room for adjustment when mounting the harness. I have also sent your information over to our customer service department for them to better assist you.

This mounting bracket was suggested on your website, but it really doesn't work with the harness I purchased (Item 118275). Only one mounting hole on the bracket lines up with the face plug of harness. I would have thought it would have been a better fit. It's just a universal bracket that still needs quite a bit of work,

Comments
Most of our brackets are universal so that they fit a variety of wiring harnesses. You can try this item, #C58000, as it is known to work with item 118275.

This bracket does not have a matching hole pattern for the Curt connector. Had to drill four new holes in bracket to make it work. Not sure witch connector it is compatible with because there is no info in description.

Prior to ordering the wiring harness and mounting brackets for my truck, I called etrailer.com to ensure I was identifying the right products. The customer service person I spoke to was very knowledgeable. The shipment arrived on time. The wiring harness worked and continues to work well (easy install). The bracket however had a slight issue with fit. I spoke to etrailer.com again and they quickly rectified the issues and sent a new bracket at no cost. Things don't always go right, but it is how we respond to issues that matter. These guys have it together. Well done.

  • Replacement 7-Way Connector for 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS
Usually a 7-way connector on a vehicle will be mounted either to a tab that is built in to the hitch or to a cut-out on the vehicle bumper. There are also separate mounting plates that can accept a 7-way connector which you can place as you prefer. One example is # 18138 from Draw-Tite which comes complete with hardware for mounting both the bracket and the 7-way. The linked video shows installation on a 2005 Santa Fe.
