Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball

Today, we'll be reviewing part number 19257. This is the Tow Ready Hitch Ball with the 1-7/8-inch ball diameter, has a medium shank, and it's rated at 2000 pounds. The diameter of our shank is going to measure 3/4 inch, so in selecting a ball mount, you need to make sure that it has a ball hole diameter of at least 3/4 inch. Our shank length is going to measure 2-3/8 inches, and this is designed to fit drawbar thicknesses of 3/8 inch to 1-1/4 inches, and our hitch ball has a capacity of 2000 pounds. Now, it has a really nice chrome-plated finish, so it's going to stand up well against corrosion and rust, and it also provides wrench flats on each side of the ball at the base. That way, we can securely grip it and torque it down to the specifications from the manufacturer. The way this would work is you would take your hitch ball, place it onto the ball mount, put the lock washer on, and then, you would thread on your nut. Then, all you would need to do is torque it down to the specifications listed by the manufacturer. That's going to complete today's review of part number 19257. This is the hitch ball with the 1-7/8-inch ball diameter from Tow Ready.

Right size, right fit etc but the key has been the great service from e-trailer's staff. I took a junky 300 trailer kit and with parts from e-trailer, larger wheels, winch, bearing buddies, spare tire mount, jack stand and made a darn good boat trailer for my daughter's sunfish. got great advice, great service, and fast shipping. Nice group of people at e-trailer.

I have a golf-cart that works like a lawn tractor with a trailer hitch that I use to pull trailers and other utilities. I recently lost the trailer hitch and could not use the golf cart anymore. I knew I had to replace it and had purchased items from etrailer before. After I waded through the ton of products they offer, I found my replacements. I just received them today and put them together. I was impressed with the solid construction. My prior hitch was a square tube, this one is one solid piece. I had messed up on my original order and ordered hitch and ball that did not match. The etrailer staff caught my error and instead of just placing the order they contacted me with my error. I did research and found a ball that was compatible. etrailer staff modified my order and shipped a solution that worked for my situation. You CANNOT GO WRONG dealing with personnel like this. THANK YOU EVERYONE AT etrailer!!!!!!

The hitch receiver looks great. I just have to install it---which looks also to be an easy job.

by:

Almost got lost in the UPS truck. It fell out a hole in the hitch box, and was rolling around his truck. He was smart enough to associate it to the "eTrailer.com" box, so he handed it to me, upon arrival.. Nice job UPS. Oh, by the way the ball is "high quality" and looks great on my new hitch.

by:

Customer service answered my questions promptly and professionally. The hitch order arrived promptly and I Installed it yesterday. The installation videos for the hitch and electrical wiring were very helpful. They were straight forward and seeing the install gave me the confidence to do it myself. Only possible suggestion is on the videos state the socket size of nuts, Trailer ball, and the ground nut/screw. Overall very good service & follow up!

I have used etrailer numerous times over the years and had many different sorts of RV and tow vehicles and every time I have been able to locate any and all parts that I have ever wanted. I have finally settled down with retirement and have only started a small project and needed a item and etrailer had exactly what I needed and the price so pleased me. Then to make things better I received my ordered item in less than 4 days. I have only ever had very good service and totally satisfied with everything etrailer.
