This is a Dexter OEM brake assembly, so it was manufactured per Dexter spec's and quality control.

Perfect replacement if you are experiencing fatigue failures on your brake hardware. Easy installation. 7000 miles since installing and no issues.

Ordered the parts by phone. Melissa was highly knowledgeable and extremely professional. Would recommend eTrailer to anyone that needs trailer parts or trailer hitches.

I have more problems this is the place to get parts. Good information on the sight. Prices are right. Will shop here and tell all my friends.

Always a pleasure doing business with

Quality parts. Great customer service and ontime shipping and great communication

I removed and reconditioned the axles on my snowmobile trailer. Salt corrosion damaged the brake assemblies. The replacements assemblies from bolted right on and made short work of the brake repair.

Still working just fine.
Jeff K - 12/22/2017

Fit right on to the four axle bolts as expected so it was a drop in replacement for what I had.

Came as described, packaged i a “ bulletproof” package & parts went on without a hassle. Delivery was quick. Only company to trust in trailer maintenence

Perfectly functioning, dead reliable product

I bought a new car trailer with brakes on only 1 axle. etrailer had the exact same brakes for me to put on the second axle. These drum brakes were really easy to install, wire and adjust / re-adjust. I'd really recommend brakes on both axles if like me you're towing close to 7000lb. I've made a couple emergency stops around town, and didn't have the feeling i was being pushed by the trailer at all.
I'd also really recommend getting a high tech brake controller if you're buying one. I had a cheap one that really sucked, i had to constantly readjust brake power every time my speed varied (to stop being pushed by the trailer at speed or jerking to a stop at low speed). Annoying and dangerous IMO.

I ordered a complete brake kit for my 6x10 wells cargo trailer (backing plates wiring, hub assemblies, junction box). The items were not packed well and the brake wire got shredded by the hub assemblies during shipping. A quick call to eTrailer and a replacement cable was sent out right away - great customer service! Installation of this kit was a breeze thanks to the instructional videos available on the eTrailer website. All the items are of excellent quality and everything fit together perfectly. One small wish would be to include the lock washers and nuts (4 per side) that are required to mount the backing plate instead of having to order it a la carte.

Great products and extremely fast shipping. Had excellent customer service with assisting me with what parts I needed to fit my application. Definitely will be recommended to contact Tim.

Used these electric brake assemblies to replace the hydraulic units which became useless due to the master cylinder in the coupler becoming rusted and frozen up. Everything about the units was top notch and they bolted directly in place of the hydraulic backing plates. Shipping was fast with detailed follow up provided by Etrailer (probably the best of any internet company I've dealt with.)

Packaging was more than enough with more packing material and staples than was really required. ( 15 staples in the box ends alone where 5 would have been more than enough) Unfortunately, the assemblies were "nested" back to front into one another which caused the brake shoe of one unit to cut off the wire leads of the other. "Back to back" or "front to front" would have solved this issue which has happened to other customers. Additionally, the one plate had dust plugs for the brake adjuster provided while the other one had none. Both of these problems were minor but kept the experience from being totally outstanding.

Excellent fit and finish, as usual from Dexter. Installed on a Lippert 3500# axle with no problems.

I'm in the middle right now because 2 of the shoes had a fair size piece of the braking pad portion break away from the rest. They were very fast to send replacements so I have nothing but praise for that. I have done business with these people before and have had very fine experiences. I suspect this was just a fluke thing. I will order from here in the future.

We bought bearings, seals, brakes and brake drums for our horse trailer as we travel around with are furry pet.We give a A+ for quality, service and price .will use trailer for all are future needs. Thank you

Just great. We bought wheel bearings,Brake shoes and drum.I just repacked the wheel bearings and everything looks new.Your great company and a good price 2 thumbs up and 2 happy horses.

About a year ago I replaced all my existing breaks on my camper with these. Swapping them out was painless (first time doing so.) After getting the adjustment correct on the brakes and the brake controller they’ve worked great! We have a lot of hills where we live and camp almost every weekend May-October and have had no issues. I will double check in the spring but as of when we parked for the winter there was no need for adjustment yet, plenty of pad left for another season or two!

very happy with service and product

I completely rebuilt my trailer. The brake assemblies ordered were easy to install. It was much easier than trying to rebuild my existing brakes. The instructional videos from made the installation of the breakaway kit a breeze. Shipping was upgraded for free and received my order very quickly. It was a pleasure doing business with

OEM Made in USA and Dexter original. Exact fit. This is the best way to service brake systems especially on tandem axle applications. Great price, great service. Best with new nuts and lock washers and new Dexter drums and did I mention made in USA.

Excellent product, quality and customer service.

Added brakes to my 6X10 Wells Cargo enclosed trailer. They are working great. Easy install. As always, new trailer brakes take some time to wear in before you get full "lock - up" level braking. I'd buy these again. As always, great order and order fulfillment experience with etrailer.

Product was as advertised. Form, fit and function were excellant. Assembly was a breeze, especially with the non-polarity of the wires. Just bolt them on, plug them in, adjust them, and go. Recommend buyers also purchase the 4 nuts that hold each backing plate onto the trailer's mounting flange. They do not come with the assemblies, and 7/16 x 20 (fine thread) nuts are getting difficult to come by. I went to my local Lowes to purchase 16 nuts and lock washers for the 4 assemblies I purchased.. They only had 17 nuts in the entire store.

A year ago I ordered 4 trailer brake assembly sets, brake drums and bearings. They arrived quickly and in good condition. Everything fit well and I had no problems when I towed my trailer across the country. I would definitely buy from Etrailer again.

10" Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 23-27 is quick and easy to install. saves hours of frustration trying to assemble brake lining and springs. I recommend to buy the brake drum that goes with the brake assembly also. No power tools needed for this job. View the provided on line instruction and viewing the video was very helpful installing this product. Thank ETrailer

Purchase from etrailer was simple and easy. The product was shipped quickly and the package arrived in fine shape. One of the brake assemblies must have been bumped around pretty good as the adjuster and spring were laying on the packing. A couple of minutes to reassemble the parts and all was good. The product fit as advertised with no problems. Adjustment was simple (follow youtube videos if you've never done this type of work before) and I'm only waiting for a test run in daylight.

As for what I liked about the product, they're made in USA and appear to be of superior quality over the OEM Chinese products they replaced. I try to purchase USA-made products when possible and etrailer made the choice simple by listing where this item was manufactured. I also like how etrailer followed up with emails offering help if needed. While I didn't need help, it was a nice touch and I will purchase from etrailer in the future.

  • How to Pick Out Brake Assemblies for Terry Resort Fleetwood 5th Wheel Trailer
Picking out brake assemblies for trailer axles is actually pretty easy but I am not able to determine the info I need from your trailer info since it's not something manufacturers keep records of. You do need to order a total quantity of 4 assemblies since To pick out the correct brake assemblies for your trailer you need to know a few things. If you cannot then you would also need to change out the hub and drum. To do that I would need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the metal of the bearings. • Trailer Brakes Not Performing Well After Installing New Brake Assemblies and Drums
The fact that a trailer brake won't lock doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. For best braking, you do not want the brakes to lock up. A skidding tire doesn't provide optimal braking. However, if you can get things adjusted so that the brakes apply to a degree just short of lock up, you'll have the most effective braking possible. Vehicle wheels can have different offset than trailer wheels. Offset is any difference between a wheel's center line and the mounting surface. Similarly, only special trailer (ST) tires are recommended for use on trailers; passenger vehicle tires should not be used on a trailer, or vice versa. I linked for you our main...
