No drilling or welding is required. The receiver portion of the hitch will sit just behind your front license plate. Your license plate can be easily mounted with the included bracket and magnet. Just pop the bracket off to tow and put it back on again for a from-the-factory look when you're done using the hitch.

The unit and instructions are excellent. If you have a small or complex path to maneuver your RV AND a vehicle that can support the front axle load this works really well. It made positioning our 37'(nose to tail) travel trailer into a slot next to our car port off a steep driveway a 10 minute job with 'no yelling'.
Fits well my 19 yr. old grandson installed it for me however the the receiver just clears the outside of my bumper on my 2018 Silverado so the pin hole is behind the bumper which is OK for me as I intend to use it for a winch so it ads a little security, But if you were making frequent hitch changes it might be a little inconvenient, the manufacturers might consider making one that is about 4 in. longer.
I GIVE THIS ITEM TWO STARS
When I opened the item the item I noticed it damaged. The license plate holder was bent at all the welds. The instructions are just copies that are very poorly written and unclear with pictures that you can not see. After I installed it I noticed that the pin on the receiver is behind the bumper and because the license plate holder was bent it would hit my bumper and I could not install the pin.
It was a very nice hitch. It took longer than expected, because of the cut out I had to make in the bummer.
