Everythings great except the butyl tape. It was smashed badly. I hope i have enough usable to complete the job.

Oh gosh, I hate it when it shows up like that. Was there enough usable tape for what you needed?

by:

As usual, my order arrived quickly and complete. I paid 15% more over a nationwide RV chainstore because time and time again etrailer has proved to be a better value. The Maxxfan 5100 and installation kit required only a couple of hours to install. Most of the time was spent erecting a safe support system to get on the roof of my teardrop trailer.

by:

I gave this order 3 stars because whoever shipped this order put the vent and the installation kit in the same box. The roll of tape was damaged, but I think everything else look okay. I have read other reviews saying the same things I encountered happening and somebody is not paying attention to these reviews. Also the plastic piece of the vent should of been packaged better as they were laid in there to flop around. I am surprised that nothing else was damageed. etrailer is better than this I would think.

We always take reviews about the packaging seriously. I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

8/27/2024

ok the metal vent is a lot better than that old cheap plastic vent that was on there

by:

This kit is mostly complete. The only thing missing is a guy to get up on the roof of my camper who can use a heat gun to soften all of the old sealant and yank out the old vent. Seriously, the kit has everything I’ll need to install the new vent.

Daryl

Now, I can add a comment about the install materials have stood up: Very well! No leaks!

by:

Poor packing by your shipping department. The installation kit was crammed into a small box not suited for the length of the caulking tubes resulting in the tips being severely bent. I can only hope they will still work. The butyl tape is distorted as well. The box used to ship both items was grossly oversized for the two boxes it housed. The box shipping the installation kit should have been bigger. The vent appears to be in good shape.

I am sorry that the installation kit arrived this way. We will be in touch with you and will replace anything that is damaged or unusable.

by:

Nozzles were damaged but I think they’ll be fine. These were a replacement for sealant tubes that were damaged/leaking.

by:

It’s been one year (1/4/23) since I purchased and installed these products on my 1994 Airstream Trailer. The complete kit was more than adequate for my job given that the trailer had a few other areas requiring attention or needing the self-leveling sealer. I waited for the ideal conditions (weather, temperature, and time of day) before applying the parts and sealing a few other external components. We’ve had several rain events and temperature swings and these products have held up very well. The trailer serves more as an office now which increases the importance for not having leaks!

This was a great choice to select these projects and particularly, from this vendor. They were very responsive and quick to get the order out.

Thanks to George and his Team!
Happy New Year 2024

by:

Excellent service, fast delivery. My husband installed this in less than 2 hours. Everything needed is included in the kit, very good product!

by:

The ventilation kit is okay. I ordered it along with the electric vent. Getting the kit saved me from having to go get materials.

by:

There's a generous amount of goo here to go with the butyl tape, maybe enough to do two hatches. My question is about the screws they send which in my case are redundant. They're all slot headed so will have to be pre drilled and installed with a standard blade manual screw drive driver ensuring a labor intensive install or removal.

by:

I bought this kit to make my roof vent install water tight. The butyl tape and self leveling sealant were exactly what was needed. The kit comes with two sets of screws (which weren’t included with the roof vent), however I didn’t use them as one set was slotted (flathead vice Phillips) and the other (better) were hex head/slotted. I prefer Robertson (square drive) screws and that is what is stock on this trailer so that’s what I used. I would have given 5 stars if the screws that came with the kit were better quality (i.e. weren’t slotted). Regardless, there is no doubt it is water tight. Good kit.

by:

Always pretty satisfied with etrailer. The only reason I didn't give a 5 star this time is the butyl tape was smashed because of the way it was packed for shipping. The product otherwise arrived in good condition upon initial inspection. I haven't installed the fan yet so can't yet speak to function.

by:

This kit was not put together in a box. The screws were literally thrown in a very large box and so were the other 2 items. One nozzle of the caulking was bent, and if used the caulking would have come out near the tube itself. We were supposed to get 30 metal screws and 8 wood screws. We were missing some of both. Not a happy camper. I called the company and more of what we needed were being sent out. We shall see.

by:

Shipment showed up with Staples all over the entire box, for no reason, stabling the goods on the inside to which some were cloth goods

I am sorry that this happened. We do use staples with our boxes so I will let our shipping department know. In the meantime we will reach out to you and make sure to replace any items that were damaged.

Still comes in handy! I purchased this kit for a project trailer I work on in my spare time. This kit, a year later has been very handy to have. Everything applied easily, worked well and didnt suffer in quality over time. Living in CA you cant say money well spent on much anymore, but I am happy with this purchase.

by:

Worked out fine

by:

Exactly what I needed. Replaced roof vent on my 1964 Shasta and the self leveling sealant worked just as described. I applied it when temperatures were in the 50s and nights got down to the 30s so it took a couple days to dry. I’ve had no issues at all.

by:

Great product! Wish shipping was faster to Hawaii by plane not boat

by:

The screen that snaps into place does not stay attached very well. Upon further investigation one of the plastic snaps was broken, but it was to late to return it as I had already mounted the unit on the trailer. However the kit was great. My trailer will now seal correctly. Thank you.

by:

Used to seal the replacement roof vent (old one was damaged from tornado). Followed instructions. Took our time and installation went well in 73 Deg weather. After a year, sealant is still good. (Trailer is stored under open sided shelter).

by:

The items arrived unscathed and in good shape. Waiting for the weather to warm a little to make the install. I removed the old vent and it matches the dimensions of this unit, so the install should be easy. Metal lid should last a lot longer than the plastic ones.

by:

Excellent as always

by:

Everything was perfect! Very efficient service! Im vey pleased with the quality of what I ordered. I would most definitely order again from trailer. Thank you again for the fast delivery.

by:

Great product
Easy to install

by:

What I'd like to know is how ETrailer got my Roof Vent stuff to me so quickly. Not only that, but I get a note right after I ordered referencing a prior order (for the same thing...different trailer) and I'm saying to myself, "These folks take customer service to another level." Everything ordered was in the box and delivered intact.

  • Could LaSalle Bristol Roof Vent Install Kit Work with MaxxFan 7000k Roof Vent
Hey David, we've used the LaSalle Bristol RV Roof Vent install kit part # 344270KITW to install several MaxxFan RV roof vents and it's worked well so it would also work well for you. This comes with everything needed so it would be a great choice.

  • Comparing MaxxFan 7500K And 6200K Models. Do I Need A Voltage Regulator?
You are right that the # MA00-06200K and the # MA00-07500K are very similar vent fans as far as most of the internal components. The main difference is that the 7500K uses a remote and has a powered lift. The 6200K is manual control and manual lift. Other than those features they are effectively the same. We get a large majority of good feedback on both models, and I would not expect any noise issues with a brand new fan. As far as the voltage regulator, we have found in most cases they...

Good morning, Don. The 3/4" wide butyl tape is exactly what we recommend for installing a roof vent such as the MaxxFan # MA00-07000K. We actually sell a roof vent install kit part # 344270KITW that comes with sealant, screws and a 30' roll of 3/4" wide butyl tape.

  • What Measurement is Needed to Replace Trailer Vent
Not a saint, but I should still be able to help you out! I believe you are asking about a standard square roof vent on your trailer, and you really just need to know two things - the size of the cut out of the vent opening and the (approximate) depth of the opening. Good news is, square trailer vents are almost always a standard 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" (give or take a smidge), so that's likely what you have, but you'll want to verify. If if is, you can use either a vent without a fan or a vent...

All trailer roof vents nowadays fit what is referred to as a standard roof vent opening, which is described as "roughly" 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" so the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent # V2110SP-24 might be able to squeeze into a 14" x 14" opening but in reality it is pretty situational as most openings aren't exactly 14" x 14" or 14-1/4" by 14-1/4" because of the minute nature of the measurement.
