The hitch was received a bit scratched up but that wasn't a huge deal to me but something to note if you are a stickler. I was able to ask my partner to help me install it and he used the help of his brother and sister to get under the car and help him lift the hitch up and secure everything in place. A year later and its still on nicely and intact and I have no complaints. Wish I could post a picture but I cant find my phone at the moment, but this is a real review if that makes you feel better. This was applied on my RAV4 LE 2021.
Jenny N - 04/05/2022Had difficulty with the left side bolts because of how the vehicle is manufactured. Had to buy a torque wrench extension and then do the math. Fun! Toyota has all the tools so it's no problem for them to do this kind of install. However, the hitch is good and has worked very well for hauling my 4x8 trailer.
This is the third time I've ordered the same receiver hitch for my bike rack, each for a separate car. Initially, I started ordering from Etrailer because they were located in Wentzville MO and since I'm originally from Missouri, I liked being able to promote the community of my home state. However, since I've purchased the three receiver hitches and Swagman XC2 bike rack from Trailer, I've been extremely impressed with their timeliness in shipping and additional service available after the fact. Once I get this receiver hitch installed, I will try to provide pictures of receiver hitch upon our RAV4. Until then, this review is geared towards Etrailer and the excellent service they provide. just received and unboxed , box was kind of messed up , however it's a tow hitch , not an expensive set of crystal ! thanks for speedy service , considering the state of bidens economy .
Hitch fit perfect. Some of the holes needed a little "persuading", but [online]l was able to install it for me for a reasonable price. Hitch works & performs just like I expected.
Product was as expected. However, with only ordering one item from etrailer, and the product reportedly in stock, it took over a week to ship. I know that everything is getting hammered due to COVID, but I wish that retailers would start setting customer expectation where it needs to be, in reality, instead of taking the order and sitting on it for two-weeks. Bad for customer relations..
Had to remove the tow hook on the car. The muffler removal tool was very handy to have. Didn't need the tap for the weld nuts. Couldn't use the crow foot tool on the passenger side. Only a box wrench would fit. Used my floor jack to hold it up to install the bolts. Fit like it was made for the car!

Brooke M - 08/04/2021The product arrived on schedule. I read the instructions and got my tools out. I ordered the exhaust hanger removal tool. This was a great less than $20 investment. I have never removed the hangers with such ease. Everything went as planned as I got the two top bolts into the hitch. Then there was a problem. The hook installed on my 2020 RAV4 did not allow the hitch to swing all the way up to put in the final two bolts. See the pictures. I had to go find the right socket and remove hook. Then I was able to complete the installation. The hitch cannot be installed with the factory hook on the passenger side. Hopefully I'll never need the hook. The hitch frame can probably serve the same purpose as it could be used to tie something down.
I watched the video. It was very helpful. Although this is really an easy job with a little help from a second person I was able to install the hitch myself on the floor of my garage. A second strap to help hold up the hitch made it work.
Michael - 03/23/2021Hitch receiver has not been installed yet on my 2020 RAV4 but I will assume it can be installed properly and that it will work properly similar to the hitch receivers that I bought from etrailer in the past when I had different vehicles. Note that one end of the hitch receiver was protruding extensively through the shipping box when UPS delivered it. The driver said that "this happens all the time during shipment of these things". I could envision that the heavy metal of which the hitch receiver is composed and especially the end that was sticking through the shipping box could do damage to other boxes and the items they contain on the UPS truck. Paint was rubbed off at one spot on it so I assume it did articulate with something else during shipment. Maybe you (etrailer.com) need to think about packaging it better so that it does not end up potentially damaging other items and boxes during shipment.
This looks like a well made product, That being said the packaging and shipment were terrible. The hitch was packed in a box that it fit into without any packing material. It came to my house with three areas of the box open and the edges of the hitch exposed. The three areas exposed were missing paint and will need to be touched up. I have not installed the hitch yet.
Tyler M - 04/23/2021Very easy to install. It took a little bit of work but I had it installed in about 1 hour. I did it in my garage and, other than a ratcheting box wrench and socket wrench, I only needed my car jack to help with lifting the hitch to fit one bolt in place.
This is my second time I have gone to E trailer for a hitch for a vehicle. Both times a quality job at no cost for installation! I’ve enjoyed using my hitch for biking
I have no issue with the products. What I wanted to comment on but had no questioned about was the packaging. The hitch was scratched/damaged and the packaging failed. In my opinion your packaging gets a “1”. Fit and usefulness of the hitch is fine. I would give that a “4”.
I was buying a new 2020 Toyota RAV 4 and needed a trailer hitch. I found this on line and what a great deal. Made to fit and was installed at my dealership on my new car at no cost. Wonderful!

Serge L - 05/26/2021The receiver was delivered promptly but had a few paint chips due to handling by UPS. The fit is perfect. Installation was done by me alone but it would have been helpful if the video and/or instructions indicated the rear tie down hook has to be removed before installing the unit.
The hitch arrived in a slightly bedraggled box. The UPS obviously had issues with its 40+ LBS of weight. The good news is that everything that should have been there was, due to the serious packing mojo of the etrailer folks!
The install video differed from my vehicle as there was a tied down point that Toyota added (I believe it was for the trip from Japan). The Drawtight instructions failed to mention it, but when the etrailer folks looked at the Curt instructions it said to remove it. Once that was out of the way I was able to slip the hitch right into place and bolt it up.
Then today I tackled the 4 pole light assembly. In this case there was no Curt instruction video so I watched the T-One that etrailers made and it showed me how to get the rear side panels off without damaging them! Since my Rav4 is a hybrid, the power wire was a snap to run and connect up.
Hats off to all of you etrailer folks that put up with my phone calls and emails for the past week or so, it is much appreciated!
Installed my hitch with no problem. Overall quality and fit is great.
It will allow me to attach my bike rack to our new RAV4.

Customer Service was awesome after the first hitch arrived trashed and was sent back. New hitch arrived shortly, and it was also in sad shape but I need it so on the truck it went. etrailer stood behind its product, but needs to take another look at the carrier or how it is boxed
