GREAT PEOPLE & GREAT SERVICE NEEDED TRAILER BATTERY, I WAS OUT OF TOWN NO BRAKES RUSHED MY ORDER TO ME.GOT RIGHT PART AND WAS TO ME IN 2 DAYS THANKS E TRAILER!

by:

I didnt like that you have to make sure to leave enough wire slack to be able to open the battery door since it has the indicator lights

by:

Great price, etrailer has always been a fast shipper. Fully assembled and ready to install.

by:

Looks like a nice unit and definitely an improvement over my 1984 Teshonka unit that does not have a charger. Haven't installed it yet, still working on other brake parts but will add the review when in operation. Shipping was fast and price reasonable - thanks!

by:

Great product and insulation was a bree ze.

by:

it works for my location on trailer

by:

The products r good but getting the product shipped out is a problem I have seen where it was a week before it shipped lets get that fixed most companies today if u call in before 2oclock it ships the same day

by:

Just installed the trailer brake emergency battery and break-away switch. Straightforward and simple. Brake electrical system working properly. Simple install, but understand the battery box has to be mounted to something upright with wire clearance underneath. I made a couple of simple L brackets from aluminum stock leaving about 1/2" of clearance.

Comments
Working properly with no problems.

Not sure why order was pulled checked and label printed on a Thursday but was not shipped until the following Tuesday, holding the order hoping next time the customer will pay extra for faster shipping?

by:

Very nice product I have ordered several products from etrailer very good customer service and good shipping arrives on time

by:

Works great, I've installed this on my larger gooseneck first and liked it so much I purchased another one for my smaller stock trailer. A lot better than standard break away batteries with aftermarket in line chargers. The installation is a breeze and finished results are very clean. Definitely will be installing on any other trailers I purchase in the future.

by:

Quick to install. Good value.

by:

Mounts easily and works like it should, self charging is convenient.

Comments

  • Troubleshooting Door of Bright Way Trailer Breakaway Kit Not Able to Fully Open
The front cover of the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802346 is supposed to swing out like you mentioned. I attached pictures that show the door open. I'd be willing to bet the hinge on the left side of the door isn't fully seated which is causing the issue. Check to see if you can pop the hinge back onto the posts of the section of the hinge that is attached to the housing. I also attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

The Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802346 was designed to attach to the outside of a trailer frame like you asked about so it would work well for you. It is weather proof so that it would do fine as long as you didn't submerge it under water.

  • Replacement Breakaway Kit Recommendation and How to Test Battery Charger
I think the best way to test the battery charger on your breakaway kit is to apply 12V power to the wire that connects to the 12V power wire on your trailer and then test the other wire on the module to see if there is power coming through. If power is coming through then I would guess the charger is okay but no power means it's broken. The only real way to test the charger though would be to connect it to a battery that is depleted and see if it regenerates the battery. You'll need to...

I do have an option for you but we don't carry Vision LED so the only option we could offer is a full replacement like the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit part # 3802346 which is a very comparable system. It has a side mount installation and push to test feature. There are only a few wires that need to be connected so the swap should be very easy and straightforward although it's not a plug-in-play. • Where Does Blue Wire Connect for Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit
The blue wire from the breakaway battery box for the Bright Way Push-to-Test Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802346 will connect to the switch for the kit. The switch is that smaller box with the black and blue wiring that tells the breakaway kit when to send full power back to the brakes on your trailer. The rest of the wiring shown on the diagram is a generalization of what functions are normally on those color wires so you'll have to test what you have on your trailer wiring and just match...
