Just purchased a new to me 2020 Ram 3500. Surprisingly, this truck had no towing components other than just a receiver hitch. I ordered the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer hitch and Hopkins wiring harness. Super easy to install yourself. I want to give Amy at etrailer a huge shout out for her excellent communication starting with the ordering process to final delivery. etrailer will definitely be be my go to source.

2014 Dodge Ram Pickup

I have a 14 Ram 6.7 without the convenient in bed plug-in for connecting my 5th feel connection. Always had to drape it over the tailgate.

A medium sized hole saw, some zip ties, and this harness did the trick

Josh did a great job! I had a few questions and he was very knowledgeable. I had something that was on backorder and kept me in the loop. He has also sold me a set of Firestone air bags. I installed it alm this weekend and everything we talked about was correct. The bags reduced my sag and I am more than happy to tell all my friends about Josh and how he’s been my go to guy! Thanks!!!

2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

Worked as expected. Would like it better if the harness was offered in shorter lengths. The self-tapping screws are very light weight and strip out very easily. The zip ties are too light weight to be of any use, especially if you have 5 feet of extra wire to tie up.

Most of the 5th wheel wiring for the 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 we offer is about 10 feet long like this one however there is part # 20110 from Draw Tite that is 7 foot long. While shorter it does not have the 90 degree connector like the Hopkins one has

by:

The harness is simple to install with a few tools. Plug and play type of system. So much better than cutting into wire harness the old fashion way. Clean and simple.

Ford

Installed this when I bought a truck camper. It was plug and play at the factory Ford end. I needed a 7-way at the front, driver's side of the bed for camper hookup. A little drilling and some hardware install and it works great at the front of the bed. I cracked the cover, no fault of Hopkins brand.

After a year, this product has been great. Worked as described and was plug and play at the rear factory Ford end.

2024 GMC Sierra 3500

Used it to add a plug for our 2014 Lance Camper not really designed to work with a 2024 GMC pickup. This fixed the issues. Camper works as designed.

2003 Chevrolet Silverado

Very satisfied with the quality of the product, installation was straight forward, more than enough wire if you install at the rear of the truck bed.

by:
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Great product. Installation time was ten to fifteen minutes even with cutting the hole in the box. This is an excellent kit overall. The zip ties that came with it were a little small, so I used my own. It would be nice if the kit came with the ground screw. I would recommend this product to anyone. I installed it on my 2004 Chevy 2500 HD.

2013 Ford F250.
Easy install.
Installed
on side of bed.
Won't have to worry about tight turns and pulling on the plug or pulling it out. It was previously mounted on the under the bumper.
Everything went together smoothly.
All parts and accessories were in the box, didn't need anything extra.
Had the entire install done in about 20 minutes.

Thanks for a super product.

I have been using the connection for a year now and it has held about to a vigorous use. I remain satisfied with the product.

I used this harness to bring power to the front corner of my bed. Then I shaved down the wires for the lights and soldered on the wires from my 6pin Lance harness for the lights. I then ran the 8gauge Lance wires to the battery. Works perfectly.

2014 Dodge Ram Pickup

It's actually long enough! 2014 Ram 2500 crew cab long bed w/factory hitch, and I installed this plug in the *front* corner of the bed.

Have a truck camper, and its trailer plug is in the front left (driver's) corner. The cord is only about 2' long, so I needed to install a plug in the front of the truck bed. Before ordering, I measured from the factory plug at the trailer hitch over to the rear corner of the bed, then made a 90 degree turn and measured up the frame to the front of the bed. From there, took another 90 degree turn and went vertically to where the plug would hopefully be in the bed. About 12'. Since 10' is the longest I could find, I thought that perhaps I could run the cable more directly and shave off a few feet, and it ended up working. Far easier than custom building a wiring harness.

The final installation route went across the top of the spare tire to the back of the fuel tank, then along the frame until reaching the front of the bed. From there, it traveled up to where the new plug is installed in the bed. There were plenty of points along the way to secure the cable with zipties so it's neat and tidy and not apt to get caught on anything like the rear suspension or spare tire. The cable ended up having a bit of extra length, not much, but a little ... I was glad it wasn't pulled taut!

The install was simple and pretty painless. As others have noted, the zipties that come in the package are a bit too small to really be useful.

This is the second item I have purchased from Etrailer and couldn’t be more happier. The first was a front Jack stand for a fith wheel. Works great, looks great. This new one is a wire harness for a truck bed, side wall mount plug for my fith wheel. Thanks to Julie it was a easy installment. Julie was a very big help. Thanks for all your help.

2011 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Great product easy install plug n play. Installed on 2011 Chev 2500 hd to pull 5th wheel trailer plugged over tailgate when first bought but got extremely tight on turns and almost unplugged from truck installed in bed of truck no worries now would highly recommend. Great price also 20.00 dollars cheaper than RV store

by:

Arrived quick and installed it today. I bought the ten foot due to using it for a truck camper. Installed on my 2021 Chevy 3500 dually (8 foot bed).

Easy to follow directions and I was able to run it all the way up the driver's side to the new location.

Scariest part was cutting a hole into my brand new truck.

I sprayed the hole with spray bed liner to coat the edges that were just cut. It comes with metal screws that I sprayed black also.

Took about an hour to install.

I had it installed within an hour of delivery. Great job e-trailer!

by:

Etrailer has been flawless for many purchases. Highly recommended.

by:

Piece of cake install after reviewing some [online] videos. Approximately 1 hour to install. Did the install on a 2019, Dodge Ram, 2500, Bighorn. 2 1/8” hole bit did the trick for mounting in the bed, and dropped the spare tire to run the wire harness. Did come with dielectric grease for the connections!

Easy install, works as designed, works with the trailer brake controller

Use it with our truck to tow our fifth wheel trailer.

  • Troubleshooting Brake Output Circuit that Stopped Working After Install of 5th Wheel Wiring
Sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the Hopkins Fifth Wheel 90 degree harness part # 41157. It sounds like one of the connectors of this harness wasn't all the way engaged and the movement from you towing allowed the connectors to work themselves loose enough that you lost the brake output circuit. Try reinstalling the harness again making sure that each connection is fully seated and it should work. Also visually inspect the pins of each connector to make sure there are...

  • Why Is Fifth Wheel Truck Bed 7-Way Wiring Installed on Driver Side
That's a valid question, but I'd say the main reason that same "keep everything on the passenger side" philosophy isn't applied to truck bed fifth wheel wiring is that you could climb into the truck bed from the passenger side and get to the wiring without having to be on the traffic side if you were on the highway. Yet if you weren't on the highway and wanted to quickly access the wiring while hitching up you wouldn't have to run to the other side of the truck.
