Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - 63853 Review
Today we're going to be reviewing part number 63853. This is the tow-ready hitch ball with the two and five sixteenth inch diameter. This is the packaging that it's going to come in so this is how it's going to come to you. Here on the back of the package, it's going to have all the information you need when installing. It's going to have step by step installation instructions and it's also going to list the torque ratings on the back of this packaging so you want to make sure not to discard this right away. We'll go ahead and take this out of the packaging. That way we can go over a few measurements.
Now again, this is going to offer a two and five sixteenth inch ball diameter. When it comes to the diameter of the shank of the ball mount - which is this portion right here - that's going to give us a shank diameter of right at one inch. Now keep in mind that the mounting hole in the ball mount must not exceed the shank diameter by more than one sixteenth of an inch. The shank length, measuring from the bottom of the ball platform to the end of the threaded portion, is going to give us a measurement of two and one eighth of an inch. This hitch ball is designed for drawbar thicknesses from three eighths of an inch to three quarters of an inch. It's going to offer a capacity of six thousand pounds.
It's made from a stainless steel construction so it's going to last a really long time and it's going to resist rust and corrosion. Here on the sides of the actual hitch ball - this portion right here, these are going to be your wrench flats. It's going to make it easier for installation. You can get a wrench around there very easily and also achieve the proper torque rating as listed by the manufacturer. Really simple installation and operation. All you have to do is place this through the hole on your ball mount.
You're going to get the lock washer that's included as well as the nut. So you'll put those pieces on, tighten it down and then you'll need to get the torque to the specifications listed by the manufacturer, which again, can be found on the backside of this packaging. Once you have that fully assembled and installed onto your ball mount, you can hook up your trailer to the hitch ball. Again, it's going to offer a diameter of two and five sixteenths of an inch. That's going to do it for our review for number 63853. This is the tow-ready hitch ball with the two and five sixteenth inch diameter.

A++ product at great price and fast shipping, it's a one stop shop all you need in one box and with the video makes it easy to install on my 2015 nissan altima with the bolts thru the trunk and didn't even to remove the mufflers by sliding the hitch in one side and pushing up the other end while pulling the one muffler to one side I was able to install quicker and the plug and play wires makes it easy than trying to decode wires.
