Video Transcript for Draw-Tite 50 mm Hitch Ball Review

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Ball, but this one's a little unique. So this one's gonna be a 15 millimeter size. So this is basically just for your European style trailers, but if you do have a multi-fit coupler, it's gonna work with that as well. Again, this is kind of a niche-y thing. So if you're looking for your standard sizes, 2 5/16, 2 inch, or 1 7/8, this one isn't really gonna be for you. But if you do have a European style trailer or whatever the situation is, let's go over some specs.

This thing is gonna have a pretty decent weight rating, 3,500 pounds. So it's gonna be able to haul some of those larger trailers that you have. It's gonna be a 15 millimeter, of course, but when it comes to the plate of your ball, the ball mount, we want to make sure it doesn't exceed any thicker than 3/4 of an inch. And the sink is about an inch and a half long. And the hole that goes through, it has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches.

So we want to make sure the ball mount has that same exact size hole, because if it's any bigger, there's gonna be a lot of play there. And you really don't want to do that, especially when we're hauling some trailers and such like that, the least amount of movement the better. So just want to make sure you pair it up with the right ball mount and then of course, just make sure you have a 50 millimeter coupler to be able to use this guy. Our ball does come with a lock washer and a nut, and we do have a cotter pin that comes with it too, so we can lock it into place there. So that's always good.

That is kind of a little unique to some of the other balls that we've been messing with today. They usually don't come with the special nut and the cotter pin, but this one does. So if you have an application for the 50 millimeter ball, this is gonna be a really good choice for you. It has a stainless steel construction with a nice chrome plating on it. So it's gonna resist against rust and corrosion.

This is pretty much your only option when it comes to 50 millimeter trailer balls. So that's basically it for our look at the 50 millimeter trailer ball..

Works perfectly for my set-up: European-built Iron Baltic Pro 1000 forestry trailer hitched to Polaris Ranger.

I purchased this ball for a trailer I bought from GB ( England).
They use different sizes than we do. That was the size to use
for the coupler on the trailer. Couldn't buy it at WalMart. But
you had it in stock. It works just fine. Thanks

Thank you! 5 stars for you

Needed a 50 mm ball to go with a European hitch. Etrailer's site and service were excellent. Delivery was super quick.

Ball is sized correctly. But be for-warned if you plan to use with a Clamp on European Style BIKE RACK (which are lighter, foldable and more transportable than American bike racks). American shank is round and not fused to the mount so the ball will rotate some while driving. Thus your bike rack will rotate while driving, causing your bike to rub against your vehicle and damage the paint. I wish I could find a 50MM ball already fused to the mount so It cannot rotate that fits standard American 2" hitch. The bike rack clamps firmly to the ball and does not rotate at the rack/ball point.

I installed this ball to fend off idiot drivers here in Brooklyn, NY. I never used it to tow anything. Nevertheless, after a few months it's all covered with rust. Not so good :(

These Tow balls were very well finished and exactly as described.
It was great finding a company carrying both metric and imperial products.
The staff and shipping were superb.
I will certainly deal with this company again.

Product seems fine. Customer service however was above and beyond. I ordered 2 items that were incompatible (without knowing). Within 30 minutes, I received a phone call from a very nice lady who asked if I knew they wouldn't fit together, when I told her I didn't know, she found a similar item for the same price and changed my order before it shipped.

Exactly as ordered. Would have been totally awesome if Etrailer would pre-install the ball to the drawbar. Thanks!

Need the product fast and etrailer delivered! Shipped same day and was here on time. 50mm isn’t on every street corner so I appreciate this being in stock! finish looks great can wait to hit the open road with my travel trailer!

It was the perfect product and fit. Its installed and working. Thanks for the fast shipping service!

Very fast delivery. Received just what I ordered. Excellent product. I needed a 50mm ball to fit the coupling on my dog trailer. Fixed my problem.

Excellent transaction! Shipping was faster then expected since etrailer upped my shipping in there own....

Shipped on time. Product was as advertised. eTrailer gave me great advice in picking the right product.

So far it's working great on my English caravan, although I've only towed her for a 3 week stretch.

Working out just fine. Hasnt been exposed to bad weather so no issues with rust yet.

Fits just right for European trailers

Ridiculously inexpensive. Every other domestic US source is 4x that price. Thanks!

Could not find a 40mm ball anywhere else that shipped within a week.

Fits perfectly on German trailer.

Seems like a decent hitch ball.

Excellent product high quality finish

Thank you for your speedy delivery. It looks good but I haven't really put it to
use yet. It should work well. The shank looks a bit too short.

Hard to find item, no local shop even carries it.
Thanks for having the item, and delivering it quickly

Reasonably priced, arrived quickly and Worked as expected

exactly as advertised. good price and delivery.

  • Availability of 50mm Size Hitch Ball to Pull Old Eberly Trailer
We do offer a 50mm size hitch ball, Tow Ready part # 63912, that has a 3500-lb tow rating. This ball is solid steel, has a 3/4-inch diameter and 1-1/2-inch long shank, and includes a castle nut and cotter pin.

Yes, as long as the tongue on your Shoreland'r Tadpull Trailer does not exceed 3" wide then you can use the Titan Zinc-Plated, Leverlock Coupler part # T4845000 which is compatible with 50mm hitch balls like part # 63912. It also has a weight capacity of 5,000 lbs so you will need to make sure your boat and trailer do not exceed this. The Titan Coupler is zinc plated for corrosion resistant and comes with a one year warranty. I have attached a review video for you as well.

  • Hitch Ball with 3/4 inch Diameter Shank that's 1-1/2 inches Long
We do have a hitch ball with a 3/4 inch diameter shank that is shorter at 1-1/2 inches with the part # 63912, but there isn't a Convert-a-Ball option like the # 104B that's shorter than the # 104B.

  • Availability of 1-1/4 Inch Ball Mount for 50mm Hitch Ball with 1 Inch Diameter Shank
I do have a solution for you, however all of our available ball mounts for 1-1/4 inch receivers feature a ball hole diameter of 3/4 inches. I recommend simply going with a new 50mm hitch ball like the Draw-Tite # 63912, which features a 3/4 inch diameter shank. You can then pair the ball with any 1-1/4 inch ball mount we have available, such as the Curt Class II Drawbar # C45521. This ball mount has a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds and a rise of 2-5/8 inches or a drop of 3-1/4 inches....

  • What Size Hitch Ball Fits a 1968 Alpenkreuzer from Holland
In Europe trailers couple to metric balls. The common European ball size is 50mm which is very close to a US 2 inch ball. It is likely that the coupler would fit a US 2 inch ball if it was indeed designed for use with a 50mm. We do have a 50mm ball, # 63912, if you wanted to go that route. The top of the coupler may say what size ball to use but given the age of the classis trailer it may or may not be decipherable. Another option is to replace the coupler with a new one so you know...

  • Recommended Drawbar and 50mm Hitch Ball For Attaching Euro Bike Rack To 2011 Volkswagen Eos
I may have an option for you. For the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24824 you have installed on your 2011 Volkswagen Eos Draw-Tite recommends the Drawbar # 3594. Now when it comes to a hitch ball you will likely need the 50mm hitch ball # 63912 as this is what euro bike racks like you are referencing typically use. You will want to confirm this with the manufacturer of the rack. I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.

  • Drawbar and 50mm Trailer Ball for Draw-Tite 24747 Class I Hitch on 2008 Ford Mustang
I'm not exactly sure what you're meaning by 'dragball tow bar', but I'm assuming you're meaning a drawbar like part # 3592. If that's the case, it is indeed possible to use a drawbar and a 50mm trailer ball like # 63912 with the Draw-Tite Class I hitch, part # 24747 on your 2008 Ford Mustang. This being said, according to the owner's manual the 2008 Mustang is capable of towing a maximum trailer weight of 1000 lbs. The # 24747 hitch itself has a 2000 lb capacity, but you'll need to abide...

The only 50 mm hitch ball we offer is the part # 63912 with a 3/4 inch diameter shank that would only fit 1-1/4 inch ball mounts, but a 2 inch hitch ball translates to 50.8 mm. Which is very close. Since you have a 2 inch hitch your best option would be a 2 inch hitch ball like the part # A-90 and a ball mount like the # 40330 for if you need a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop. If you need a different rise/drop you would want to check out the help article I attached on how to pick out the correct...

  • 50mm Ball and Ball Mount with 2 Inch Drop for a 2014 Jeep Patriot with Class III Trailer Hitch
I have a solution for you. First, for a 50mm ball I recommend # 63912. Then for a ball mount with a 2 inch drop I recommend # 2923. You are right, the ball mount takes a ball with a 1 inch shank diameter so to be able to use the 50mm ball with its 3/4 inch shank, you will also need bushing # C21100. This will allow the 3/4 inch shank to work with the 1 inch ball hole.

  • What Hitch Ball Size Do They Use in Europe
We currently carry four different size hitch balls which are 1-7/8", 50mm, 2", and 2-5/16". The most common hitch ball size in Europe is 50mm for which you can use part # 63912 if you need a 3/4" diameter shank or part # EH53C-C if you need a 1" diameter shank. In order to be sure you are using the correct size hitch ball you will want to look at the top of the trailer coupler as it will be stamped into this location.

  • Mounting Hole Diameter of the Fulton Coupler 3080317
Absolutely, the mounting holes on the Fulton Coupler with Hand Wheel Latch part # F3080217 are 5/8" diameter. I went out to our warehouse to confirm this. I also test fit a 50mm hitch ball, part # 63912 with the coupler as well. I found the fit of hitch ball inside the coupler to be very secure so I would think they can be used together just fine. However, the manufacturer states to only use this coupler with a 2" to 2-1/8" but I was able to confirm it would fit and most likely work well....

I reached out to Thule and their North American tech group can't confirm the fit or not as they are not cross trained and don't have the ability to test fit the conversion. • Ball Mount and 50mm Hitch Ball to Allow Use of European Ball-Mounted Bike Carrier
The ball mount you purchased was part C45572 and this is for a 1-1/4-inch Class II hitch. This ball mount has an integrated 2-inch hitch ball that cannot be removed and this is why it is incompatible with the towing style bike rack that I believe you have. Towing racks can either mount on the shank of the ball mount, like racks # S64664 and # C18013 or they can be like yours, which uses a hitch ball as a "bolt" to secure the rack to the ball mount. We do offer 50mm hitch balls, shown on...

Any multi-fit coupler that can adjust between the 1-7/8 inch ball and the 2 inch ball will fit a 50mm ball as well. The 50mm ball size is probably the most common across the pond so I am certain your European EasyFold fits that size. The US version, # TH903202, just fits into a 1-1/4 or 2 inch hitch receiver so the 50mm ball doesn't come up much. For a 50mm ball I recommend # 63912 since it costs a little less than the Brophy but you could use # EH53C-C as well.

For a ball it will depend on what size the coupler on the trailer requires. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19256. And for a 2 inch ball use # 19258.
