Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Easily attach a variety of accessories to the front of your vehicle with this fully welded, corrosion-resistant trailer hitch receiver. Perfect for winches, spare tire carriers and more.I am not sure that installing this hitch could have been easier. I did it on the ground on my driveway, sloped, by removing my tow hooks and supporting the receiver on some blocks and bolting it in place directly into the frame. The hardware fit perfectly in alignment and thread size etc. We've mostly used it to carry bicycles when towing, though once placed a trailer with it also. Strong, fully functional and as noted easy to install.
Haven’t had a chance to use the front hitch on our Nissan Frontier year but the installation was quick and easy. I was all set to knock the installation out in 20 minutes until one of the split lock washers failed and had to be replaced out of my spare stock. Also an additional note: the hitch showed up heavily scratched despite the packaging having been in good condition. Maybe some more careful handling at the warehouse is in order.
I chose the Draw-Tite front mounted hitch over the Curt for my 2016 Nissan Frontier for 2 reasons.
1. A large percentage of the reviews indicated there was some difficulty mounting the Curt hitch because of misaligned mounting holes.
2. Since I was losing my front tow hook to enable mounting the hitch I chose the Draw-Tite hitch for its more substantial diameter tow points as well as them being located closer to the original mounting point.
The hitch was received both well packed and within a couple of days ordering. My 12 year old grand son and I installed it in about a 1/2 hour in our garage. The only part he could not do was remove the factory tow hook bolt. I had to use a breaker bar to break them loose. Other than that my grandson did the installation with my helping hold the hitch in place while he installed the bolts. I finished the final torquing of the bolts. I've included a couple pictures of the mounted hitch. I installed a tow loop in the 2x2 receptacle to keep it clean until I need to install the ball mount to position my trailer.
I would recommend the Draw-Tite hitch for anyone needing one for their Nissan Frontier, it is a well made hitch with nice looking welds and a smooth finish.
I'm using this on my 2020 Frontier to hold my existing Saris hitch-mount bike rack that would normally go on back of the truck. This way, I can tow a trailer and carry the bikes at the same time. The hitch works well for this purpose. Installation was straightforward, and it fit perfectly. The etrailer instruction video helped me understand what I needed to do. I installed the hitch with my truck sitting in the driveway. The hardest part was removing the old tow hook, which required a breaker bar and 11/16" socket. Once that was done, I used my hydraulic jack to lift the hitch up into place and get the bolts seated, with my wife steadying the hitch on top of the jack. There was no need to raise the truck. For now, I have decided not to trim and replace the plastic front fascia piece. The truck looks fine without that in place.
Three things bring me back to retailers: Price, Quality, and Speed of Fulfillment. etrailer.com checks all those boxes with the bonus of excellent communication. Looks good, works great, solid as a rock. I've hung a bike rack, motorcycle rack, and I've used it maneuver trailers into tight spaces with no problem.
Easy install. Just balance on floor jack, raise and bolt on. I trimmed air Dam and reinstalled with Dremal and cutting disc with no problem. Now my Frontier is ready for snow plowing or fun attachments.
Fantastic looking, easy to install.
After reading several scathing reviews of the Curt front hitch for Nissan Frontier I was determined to find another brand. Thank goodness one reviewer was wrong when he said there were no alternatives. I think this took three days from my ordering it to delivery. That's great! It fit like a charm. It took me more time figuring how to lift my truck and finding the right sockets and torque wrench than it did to install the hitch. Aside from looking up the bolt torque, I didn't need the directions. I just found where the thing wanted to go. Removed the airdam (because it was obviously necessary and relatively easy, 6 bolts 10mm head) and bolted the hitch right on using a 18mm socket. In total it took me 40 minutes. I'm not sure if I needed to raise the truck as much as I did, but whatever. Now I can use my bicycle rack while towing my travel trailer. However, to be honest, I think I might like the bikes in the front regularly.
Delivery was quick. I would recommend this company. It would have been appreciated if the delivery person let me know it was delivered. I almost tripped over it leaving thru my side garage door.
Have bought from them in the past. The parts always fit and takes not time to install a quality part. Fast shipping and love the videos make the install such much easier.
Great fit, easy install. I installed this myself using a floor jack. The hardest part was trimming the front valance, but that was because I wanted it to look right. The install video posted by etrailer made this install an absolute breeze.
The hitch arrived before expected in great condition. The hitch fit with no modification and was installed in less than 30 minutes.
I am very satisfied with the hitch. I use it for a snowplow that I built for the front of my truck and have used it to move my small RV around also. Has held up great even with our snow and salt in WI.
I bought this to use with a winch hook-up on my truck. I installed it on my truck the second day I got it. Installation was mostly painless thanks largely in part to the instructional videos provided. Have not had a chance to test out how well it works for a winch but seeing as this is my third hitching product bought from the good people at etrailer, I am not worried.
I wanted a front mounted tow setup in order to make it easier to put my boat in a narrow garage and was getting ready to ask a guy to fabricate one for me. I remembered etrailer.com and was pleased to find the Draw-Tite brand receiver tow bar custom made for my Pathfinder. It was a "no brained". Very pleased!
Bolted right up. And it came w hardware . First trailer reciever I've ever bought that came w hardware
I had to remove a small plastic piece off my bumper
We tow a travel trailer with no accommodation for a bike rack on the trailer itself so the rack must go on the Frontier but with the rear receiver occupied by the trailer hitch, the Draw-Tite front mount receiver was a great solution. Even if the trailer was equipped with a bike rack, I’d have to remove the trailer hitch from the Frontier and replace it with the rack if I wanted to transport the bike away from the campsite.
I expected to have to do the usual modifications for installs of this type but not so; perfect fit. No mods required. All the bolts lined up perfectly with existing Frontier holes; no drilling necessary. Provides a great place to mount a bike rack or winch. I did install a Curt receiver skid shield to protect the receiver from parking lot curbing.
Easy installation but a two man job. At 45 lbs it takes to guys to hold up and get first two bolts started. Did it all without having to lift truck.. front bolts a bit hard to reach with big hands. But all in all an easy install. Hitch is built like a tank. Good welding a bit of paint rub from shipping . Would recommend this item. Makes moving my twin axle trailer a pice of cake. Should have installed one of these hitches years ago.
etrailer--great communication and service. Prompt shipping. Product, 100%. Perfect fit and high quality. Install instructions were good... not the fault of etrailer or the product... but very hard to put a bolt into a nut that's been exposed to 10 years of the elements.
The front hitch on my Nissan Frontier works great. It really helps when putting our camper in the garage. The camper only has about 3 inches of play between the sides of the garage door.
My wife says it's been a marriage saver.
Hitch worked well easy to install...... worked well with the plow I used on my truck.... plow attached into the hitch
I saw others comment on front hitches before I purchased this one. It is wonderful. I sometimes store my trailer in the garage, or behind the house among some trees. I always had trouble backing the trailer into tight spaces. Not any more. I push the trailer from the front and get it exactly where I want it the first time. I think it must be because the trailer hitch is closer to the front steering wheels so when adjustments are made, they happen quickly. I also think it has a lot to do with the trailer is easier to see out the windshield verses looking over your shoulder. The hitch was a direct bolt on to my truck and went on in about 15 minutes. No regrets here.
This thing has been great! I bought it to attach a “portable” 9000lb winch and has done its fair share of work. The only reason it’s not 5 star is it has made changing the oil filter a real pain in the butt. The right side of the frame now partially blocks the already small access on the right wheel well (I’m 6’2” 230lb, so a smaller person may not have this same issue).
Perfect place to order from fast service and great products
Bolted up with no problems. Woks well and is tucked up nice and high. I would buy it again
