Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

A while ago I bought a trailer which I had planned to turn into a tiny home. Life happened and plans changed, so the trailer sat in my driveway for two years, during which the already-old tires began to rot. I decided the best move was to sell the trailer, but obviously I have to replace the tires first. I found that ordering the tires already mounted was the best option for me (rather than jacking my trailer up, taking the tires off one side at a time, leaving the trailer jacked up and taking the old wheels somewhere to get new tires put on them... then repeating the process with the other side.) I have no experience with tire specs, wheel sizes, etc. But between reading the specs on the existing tires and the helpful measurement information on this site I was able to order the exact right wheels for my trailer. I ordered two (of four) to start because money's tight, but they arrived on time and in perfect condition, and I replaced the old ones in about 40 minutes. They look great and are perfectly inflated. Couldn't be happier! So simple I ordered the other two immediately after writing this review! Now I can sell my trailer and make that money right back!

Comments
I was able to sell my trailer with the new wheels on it and the new owner was pleased with the quality as well.

Only place I could find my tire size and wheel combo together

by:

Professional and fast service. I received exactly what I needed. Thank you.

by:

Ordered the product as a trailer spare for a long distance trip. It came packaged in a heavy duty box with carry slots. It was the correct size and lug pattern. It also came inflated, but I have not check the pressure yet. The tire and wheel were actually new, which was a nice change from other dealers. My only complaint, if you can call it that, was the tire mounting dot was a quarter rotation from the valve stem. But since the wheel is not balanced to begin with, it probably won't be noticeable.

by:

i had a very hard time finding a spare for my new car hauler, nobody local had one to fit it for a reasonable price, i started looking on line and found etrailer.com, very satisfied with the sight and customer service, i will keep them on my regular list and purchase more from them. i liked the tire style and tread and the fact it is for heavy duty hauling. overall seems like a good company.

by:

Everyone was extremely helpful and shipping was fast!

by:

Received a fantastic tire and wheel. Both items went above my expectations and it was delivered in perfect condition. it doesn't get any better than that. I look forward to shopping at etrailer in the future...

I mis-ordered the rim bolt pattern but the service rep got me squared away with the return and the correct one shipped.

  • Smaller Wheel and Tire for Replacing Trailer Tire Size 7.5x16
The 7.5R16 tires have a diameter of 31.8 so for a smaller diameter wheel and tire with the same wheel bolt pattern we have the tire size ST205/75R15 which has an outer diameter of 27.17 inches which we have with the part # A15R6WSD. The tire weight capacity is 2,150 lbs so you'd need to make sure that would be enough for your trailer.

  • Trailer Wheel and Tire Recommendation for Size ST205/75R15 on 6 Bolt Wheel
The best priced option we have for a wheel and tire that matches what you need is the part # A15R6WSD. This is the tire size you need of ST205/75R15 and it has the 6 bolt pattern you need as well. While it's considered a value option it's still a really great overall wheel and tire that will work great for you the handful of times you need it per year.

  • Smallest Diameter Tire for 6-Lug Wheels
The smallest diameter wheel/tire we offer for the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern is a 205/75-15 which measures 27.17" diameter fully inflated. If you deflate the tires you could then lose about an inch or so. Therefore, if you take the diameter of the tires you have now (235/85-16 = 31.7") and subtract from this the above figure minus an inch for inflation then you can see how much the trailer will lower. Keep in mind, you'll only see half of the difference between the above figures. For...

Yes you could move up the slightly larger trailer tire size of 225/75-15 for all of your wheels and tires so that everything will match. The size difference is very small and wouldn't be an issue but we do offer a ST205/75-15 tire on a wheel with a 6 lug bolt pattern with the part # A15R6WSD which you could use as a spare without requiring you to replace everything.

Yes, replacing a 215/75R15 tire with a 205/75-15 will work great as the 205 will be just slightly smaller. I recommend using a radial tire since they perform better on the road. Load Range C or D should work just fine but it just depends on the axle weight rating on your trailer. LR C is 1,820 lbs at 50 psi while LR D is 2,150 lbs at 65 psi so you'll double that for each axle since a tire will be on either side of the trailer.
