2-Year warranty
This AC unit from Advent Air is designed to replace the old or broken Carrier air conditioner on your RV or camper. The included adapter wiring kit ensures that the AC works seamlessly with your existing, in-good-working-order Carrier air distribution box and thermostat. The AC has a powerful fan and motor that provides a steady stream of air to efficiently cool the inside of your RV on a hot or muggy day. The included start capacitor will help jumpstart the AC. This beneficial upgrade provides the AC a boost when shore power or generator power isn't enough to start it. And everything you need in order to replace your AC unit is included, which makes installation simple and easy.
Start Capacitor
If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.
Simple Installation
Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.
On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't required during installation.
To install the start capacitor, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.
Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.
Advent Air Warranty Coverage
2-Year Warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.
If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), youll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Only took about an hour to install including removing the old unit. As others have said, the hardest part was getting it on the roof. I strongly recommend you leave it in the box for the part as it makes it easier to handle and protects it and your rig. They were out of stock when I ordered this and it took a bit longer than expected to ship out, but customer service kept me informed and it didn’t end up taking too long. Would recommend this unit and etrailer, overall a great experience.1372726

Don't know about the product yet because I can't install it. You call and ask if what your buying is a direct replacement and it's all you need and get told yes you make arrangements to get help to put it on the roof and get the old unit off, to come to find out it's not a direct replacement you need to buy an additional adapter cable to make it work. Now your stuck with no A/C and have to either pay 57 bucks to over night the 68 dollar part or wait a week with no air to make it work. So all in all when you buy the Avent air (carrier replacement) it's just a regular Avent air and you need to spend extra money to buy the right adapter to make it work. All in all I'm not a real happy camper809301

Thank you for your review. This AC unit ACCAR150B does come with the adapter to replace the Carrier setup without wiring. You do not need to purchase a separate adapter. I have sent you an email to try to figure out if maybe you got the wrong parts in shipment.

Unit works great. Took an hour to change out. Hooked up as advertised. We replaced a Coleman Mach 3 13,500 btu for the 15,000. Puts out a lot of CFM.
Unfortunately, UPS shipping damage occurred in transit. Really nothing you can do about them being careless with your packages.1278860
I hate to see this kind of damage! I passed your information along to customer service for them to better assist you.

etrailer has gone above and beyond with this order! The cover for the unit was damaged during delivery, no fault of theirs. They offered and sent out a replacement on their dime. As for the performance of the into itself: BEAST MODE! In 120 degree desert sun, keeps us cooler in the 80s

Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Easy to install, straight swap for the old unit. It provided very good airflow to the front and back of the RV and cooled well also. Actually didn't require the start capacitor to work with our Onan generator. Product arrived with cosmetic damage. Prepare the roof area and clear all debris (1) Situate the upper unit and offer up the internal frame (2) Adjust position slightly if needed. Carefully select the internal steel duct height to suit your roof thickness - shown in (3) un-compresssed. Cinch down all four mounting bolts evenly to compress the foam gasket sufficiently without over-tightening (4)1394838

This was supposed to be a replacement for a Jayco 19h 2008 hybrid. I was told it would work fine with my ceiling control with the addition of a converter cable. This is a stretch at best. The holes for fastening the unit are 13 1/2 inches between. The holes in my old mounting plate are 12 1/2 inches. Thinking I needed to use the Advent ceiling unit, I ordered that. When I looked at that there was no way to make that fit. Back to using my old ceiling unit. Drilled new holes and then had to figure out air defection as the Advent doesn't match my old ceiling unit. Had to reroute the wires and build baffles out of foam and alum vent tape. Also installed start capacitor to make sure my trailer would handle the new unit. Had to call Advent to verify wiring connection for start capacitor. You should be creative and patient to install this unit yourself.1365503
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Great A.C. and perfect replacement for my Dometic unit that was 21 years old. Easy installation with all of the foam sealant in the right areas. I would given etrailer five stars but there's two items they can improve on. 1. Better package and bubble wrap for the new roof unit. My cover was cracked on one side due to no secure wrapping. 2. A basic diagram of where to attach the old coolant coil sensor. Last but not least Etrailer did it again with a affordable product and fast shipping. I'm in South Florida and my travel trailer is 60° in open sun with an out temperature of 95°. Thanks guys for your outstanding customer service.1362307
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Just finished installing this unit and it truly is a direct replacement for Dometic. I feel I got a fair price and shipping was fast. Taking off 1 star because the unit did arrive with a small dent along the base but this did not affect the install or function. Also, there was no install or warranty information included with the unit. Since this is the 2nd time I've had to replace the A/C on my RV, warranty info is kinda important.1376532
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
The unit is smaller than the unit I replaced and the fit was perfect at the access way. The Advent was plug and play with the Dometic harness and lower bezel. I couldn't be happier I had to look up torque specs for the gasket, as there were no instructions, but it was just a Google search (33-35 inch pounds)1339275
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Advent 15000 BTU AC. Best price I could find on the internet or anywhere else for that matter. I received the unit 4 days earlier than expected which was a good thing. The installation, including getting it on the roof, was about 30 minutes. The Advent was a direct replacement for a 4/5-year-old Dometic Brisk II that quit cooling. The Advent is slightly quitter that the Dometic but of course that is only my subjective opinion. On low speed you can continue an intelligible conversation. The Advent has been installed 3 days now and it is working great. I have purchased from etrailer in the past and have been completely satisfied. There are three concern/issues that need to be mention/address. (1) Packaging could have been better. The box it came in looked like it had been rolling around in the back of a UPS truck. (2) There was no installation instruction or owner’s manual whatsoever that came with the unit. I pulled mine off the internet. (3) the unit had minor damage on the base or main frame of the unit (I hope it does not cause issue later). The damage was not so bad as to cause forgoing the installation. Since the shipping box did not show any noticeable damage at the location of the damage on the unit, I can only assume that it was shipped by etrailer that way which is a QC issue.1296074
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Finally received a month after I ordered the unit with that being said the installation wasn’t too bad however I had to do a little modification due to the 7 inch bolts being a quarter inch shy for my trailer but once I’ve got that figured out the rest was smooth sailing. So we’ll see what happens next Summer as the heat is now winding down.1372447
Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
Have an 1999 Ford E-150 van used as an RV. I built a 30 amp box with 2-20 amp circuits several years ago. I and 3 doggies travel all over the SE for dog agility competitions. Loading and lifting a window A/C unit into the driver's side widow worked, but a major task. I cut and framed a hole in the van roof and installed the Advent ACM150. Had to install 12 volt system for thermostat and fish both 110 and 12 volt wire through walls and ceiling. A/C turned on perfectly the very first time I pushed the thermostat on button. Wowee...100 degrees outside; 69 degrees in the van. Absolutely life changing for me an my doggies. P.S. I am a nice 75 year old lady and still cannot believe I did this install all by myself. One year and miles later, this A/C is perfect!1258832

Installed today and what can I say. Installation. Was a breeze. Start capacitor bolted right into place on the unit and the six pin connector fit perfectly into my Domitec setup. Air was pushing sub 30 degree cool air. This AC was installed on a 2018 Keystone Cougar 315 fifth wheel.1502115

I bought this "direct fit" unit for my 2002 Monaco Windsor. After numerous emails and phone calls with etrailer and Advent, it was discovered it was NOT a direct fit. After $[XX] labor fee and additional parts I had to purchase from etrailer, the air conditioner does work and works well. Disappointed with the etrailer Customer Service is an understatement. Advent on the other hand was very helpful.1479634

Review from a similar Advent Air AC Unit in RV Air Conditioners
I upgraded from my Dometic 13500 Brisk 2 to the Advent 15000. The installation was flawless, but, the installation is not entirely seamless. My Dometic had a two speed fan while the Advent 15000 has a three speed fan. I believe that the Advent is running on the medium and low speed. The unit cannot defeat the Florida heat. At 99F the unit only dropped the temp 8 degrees. The air at the registers seem to be cold, but, the airflow was not what I expected from the 15000 unit. I’m hoping that the Advent ACTH12 thermostat will work. It doesn’t appear that etrailer sells them without the AC cover. Without the initial high airflow to defeat the heat, this unit will not make muster in the south. To be fair, I’m giving a 5 for the customer service and swift shipping. All the guys got me this far, they are terrific. I submitted a question for the additional information needed to get it right. I checked all the QA&A and comments for anyone that has experienced my problem. A couple fellows upgraded but said it was all good without mentioning the three speed difference. My guess is that they live in a cooler climate or don’t realize the 15000 has three speeds. If I get the Advent thermostat and it solves my problem I will readdress my comment and also update the Q&A page.1128149

Good:It’s still working great over this summer in 90+ degree weather. Bad: Heavy rain began entering the coach past the AC seal last month. Tightening up the four mounts had no help to the point of distorting the interior ceiling. I went to Ace Hardware and purchased 4 flat metal angle supports, three inches long on each side of the angle and placed them between the lip of the unit and ceiling to give additional strength to the ceiling. It was genius on my part. I was able to tighten the mounts more and stop the leak without distorting the ceiling and they were the perfect width and do not show. The seal had taken a set at the original compression point and I am afraid I will be required to retighten again in the future. Ugly: At some point soon I think the seal will need replacing and when I cross that bridge I hope there is one available and of better quality. The alternative may be using a recommended sealant between the seal and roof which will require loosening the mounts to wedges to open a space to allow sealant to flow between the seal and roof. Sealing on initial installation with sealant may not be a good idea by adding additional work a year or so after installation while on the road somewhere.
