Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Hubs and Drums - Hub - AH15450ECOMP Review

Today, we're going to review part number AH15450ECOMP. This is a Dexter Agricultural Trailer Hub Assembly for a 3000-pound axle. This trailer hub has a capacity of 1500 pounds. When used with another hub on this other side of the axle would give you the maximum of 3000 pounds. This is designed for use with a spindle, part number AS1500E. Now, this part does come with the grease cap.

It does come with the 1-1/2-inch inside diameter grease seal. It comes with the inner bearing, part number LM67048. It comes with the outer bearing, part number LM11949 and it comes with four of the 1/2-inch wheel bolt to attach the wheel to the hub. Now, agricultural hubs like this and agricultural spindles are used mostly in building or repairing implement wagons, carts, or machinery. The agricultural hubs and spindles are designed for low-speed applications, the weight capacity shown for speeds not to exceed 20 miles per hours.

Now, this agricultural hub has a bolt pattern of 4 on 5-inch bolt pattern. So basically, the way you would measure that is on a bolt pattern that has an even number of lugs. It would be, in this case, four. You just measure directly from the center of one hole directly across to the center of the other hole. So in this case, if we go across from center to center, it would be 5 inches.

So this will be a four-lug, 5-inch bolt pattern. And that should do it for review on part number AH15450ECOMP.

  • What are the Overall Dimensions of the Dexter Agricultural Hub Assembly # AH15450ECOMP
I pulled the Dexter Hub Assembly, # AH15450ECOMP, from the warehouse and made a simple diagram showing the outer dimensions for you to check out, see photo. This hub comes with the bearings, seal, grease cap and lug bolts. This hub fits spindle # AS1500E. If you are not sure what spindle you have or if this hub will fit on your spindle, then you can compare the part numbers of your current bearings to those with this hub assembly or you can take a few measurements of your spindle. • Availability of Hubs That Use Inner Bearing LM67048 and Outer Bearing LM11949
We do not have any hubs or hub/drums in a 5-on-4-1/2 bolt pattern that use your particular bearings. The bearings in a replacement hub must match those in your originals in order for the hub to fit on your spindles. We do offer one idler hub that uses inner bearing LM67048 and outer bearing LM11949 and that is 4-on-5 bolt pattern agricultural idler hub # AH15450ECOMP. This hub kit includes bearings, races and a grease seal and it is rated for off-road use up to 20-mph.

  • Recommended Replacement Trailer Wheel and Hub for Old 4 on 5 Inch Agricultural Hub
Unfortunately we don't have any wheels with the 4 on 5 bolt pattern even though we do have one hub # AH15450ECOMP with that pattern. We have many wheels with the 4 on 4 inch, 4 on 4-1/2 inch, and 4 on 9.44 inch bolt patterns. I've linked the page to all our wheels to assist. I recommend replacing your hubs so that you can get a bolt pattern compatible with wheels that size. I have attached an article to assist with measuring if needed but you may be able to get the bearing numbers printed...

  • Replacement Hub With An Out Bearing And In Bearings That Measure .74" and 1.25" For 5 On 4.5 Wheel
We do have a replacement hub that can work. Unfortunately, it is not a 5 on 4.5. The only replacement hub we have that will fit your axles. Trailer Hub Assembly - 3,000 lbs Axles - 4 on 5 - Agricultural, part # AH15450ECOMP. Going with these hubs will require you to get new wheels to match this lug pattern or cut off the spindles and weld on new spindles that will accommodate a different hub.

We do have one possible hub that would fit your spindle but it is an agricultural hub which is designed for low-speed applications. The Trailer Hub Assembly - 3,000 lbs Axles # AH15450ECOMP uses the same size bearings you currently have. I was unable to find the dimensions of that 1138758 seal but the grease seal on this hub has an inner diameter of 1.50". This hub uses a 4 on 5 bolt pattern. • Is There a Trailer Hub/Bearing with 1.18 Inner Diameter
I do have a possible solution for you in the Trailer Hub Assembly part # AH15450ECOMP which uses a LM67048 (1.250") inner bearing and LM11949 (.750') outer bearing. This hub has a 4 on 5" bolt pattern, it's commonly used in agricultural applications. It's the only hub we offer with this bearing combo. Unfortunately, we don't have any hubs/bearings which have a 1.18" inner diameter.

  • Replacing the Hub on an Older Homemade Trailer With Bearing LM11949
The hub assembly we offer with bearing # LM11949 is an agricultural hub, # AH15450ECOMP. This hub is intended for agricultural use, and the outer bearing measurement you mentioned does not match the outer bearing used by this hub and spindle. This axle uses bearings that are nonstandard, so it may be easier for your to swap out the axle for a new one that uses standard bearings. I've added a link to a list of all our available axles to see if we have one that will work for you.

  • Trailer Hub Seal Recommendation for Hub with Race LM11910

  • Hub Recommendation for Trailer Spindle that Measures 1.25 and .75 inches
It sounds like you are in need of an agricultural hub like the part # AH15450ECOMP that has a diameter of .75 where the inner bearing rides and 1.25 inches where the outer bearing rides. This hub has a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern so if you needed one with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the part # T1721400042.

  • Availability of Hub for LM11949 Bearing
Is both your inner and outer bearing the same part number? The only hub we offer that uses a LM11949 bearing would be the # AH15450ECOMP agricultural hub assembly, but it used a LM67048 inner bearing, which has a 1.25 inch inner diameter. • Replacement Axle Recommendation for a Snowmobile Trailer with Non Standard Hubs
I wish I had a hub that would work on the spindles you have on your trailer. But none of the hubs we carry work with your bearing combination. That outer bearing you have is the problem. It's usually only used on agricultural hubs like part # AH15450ECOMP. Honestly your best option would be to replace the axle. I attached a page that has all of our axles we carry that come with hubs that have 4 on 4 inch bolt patterns. You will need to know the distance between the hub faces on your axle...

  • Trailer Hub that Uses Inner Bearing LM67048 and Outer Bearing LM11949
The only hub we have that takes inner bearing LM67048 and outer bearing LM11949 is agricultural hub # AH15450ECOMP. This hub though has a 4 on 5 bolt pattern. If you used it you would have to change the wheels to match but 4 on 5 wheels are rare and we do not carry any. The other issue is that agricultural hubs are rated for a maximum of 20 miles per hour.

  • Agricultural Hub Availability
It sounds like you have an agricultural hub like the part # TRU54FR that has a diameter of .75 where the inner bearing rides. You will need to measure the spindle of your trailer to verify this. Where the outer bearing rides will need to be 1.25 inches, the seal surface diameter 1.50 inches. The only hub we have to fit this hub would be the part # AH15450ECOMP.

  • Replacement Trailer Hub that Uses Bearings with Inner Diameters of 1.25 and 0.75 Inches
Based on the measurements you have provided hub # AH15450ECOMP is a close match. The bearings that it uses fit on spindles with the measurements you have provided. But the seal has an inner diameter of 1-1/2 inches. It is not uncommon for the seal inner diameter to be smaller to provide a tight fit. This is an agricultural hub so it isn't very common and being an aggie hub means it is limited to 20 miles per hour. It might be more beneficial to replace the axle on the trailer to get more...

  • Determining Capacity of an Old Trailer Axle with No Information on the Axle
The 15123 bearing is still common but I could not find any information on the 09057 bearing. But given that your hubs have the 4 bolt pattern it is likely that the axle is rated under 3,000 pounds. Most likely it is a 2,000 pound axle. Measure the spindle where the 09057 bearing rides using calipers such as # PTW80157 I can see if there is a different bearing with the same inner diameter that is commonly used with 15123 and go from there. Since you still have the trailer frame as well...
