Thoroughly Tested for Safety
This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.
E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication
The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Hubs matched to my original Dexter hubs. The prices was more than 50% less than Dexter axles; well worth the savings.
Bearings came installed; made installation a breeze. Slide them on and put on retaining washer, nut and retaining bracket.
I’d buy them again (today) will re-evaluate in a year.

Purchased a used 2016 Keystone Hideout Trailer and wanted to be sure it was safe going down the road. These four assemblies were clean, packaged well and fit as expected. We will be headed out to campsite next month and will update this review ONLY if their is a discrepancy, otherwise, we are very satisfied with our etrailer purchase.

This is my second order. I ordered for the rear axle first. The parts looked good. So ordered for the other axle. The seals are robust and double seal design. But the bearing are China bearings. Would have liked to seen timkin or the like but are serviceable. The break kit fit well and looks good. We will see how they do on my 2500 mile round trip thru the mountains with a small truck loaded on it. The operators both times were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Keep up the good work and I'll keep buying!

Received the hubs very quickly. They were well greesed and ready to go. They look well machined. I did have one lug nut that had something wrong with the threads. I might could have used it, but since it would not thread on by hand I did not want to try it since it might damage the stud. I went on line and did a chat with etrailer. Thier customer service is top rated. They shipped me out another lug nut. This is why I do business with etrailer. They understand the needs of the customer and understand the products they sell.
I installed the hubs this weekend and took the trailer for a test pull. Needed to adjust the brakes up a little, but all was well.

Perfect fit for the corresponding e-trailer brake assembly. Even comes with lug nuts, but I didn’t use them because they are a size up from whats on the rest of my trailer wheels. Same thread, just different lug wrench size. Personally, e-trailer, I’d forgo including the lug nuts and instead, include the mounting hardware with your e-trailer brake assemblies.

I ordered the hub and idler set, my trailer came with 15x5 hubs and I ordered 15x4.5 rims. Since they wouldn't return my rims I ordered the correct hubs from etrailer. Got my box only had one seal slightly damaged. Installing was a breeze and happy with my purchase... Website was very user friendly as my first plan was to do a 6lug but I talked myself out of it. Thanks etrailer good job, nice company to deal with.

I ordered an easy grease trailer hub and drum assembly to replace the one on my 14 foot cargo trailer which was damaged by a defective magnet. The one I ordered fit perfectly. Since it came pre-greased, it saved quite a bit of time because I did not have to pack the bearings and press in the seal.

Love how seals already pack in for you just slide on put bolt castle on and Cotter pin in. Make sure only hand tighten castle nut only. I wish they would sent new Cotter pins and castle nuts with new assembly. Only down fall so beware when buying make sure have new ones to insert. Don't use old pins as you bend them they do weaken so put new Cotter pins in. Rated 4 star due to they could sent castle nut and Cotter pin with new install

When it comes to hub and drum assemblies, we do not sell them with cotter pins and castle nuts since, often times people just reuse what they already have. I agree that the cotter pin can weaken over multiple times of bending it back into place. For that reason, we do offer cotter pins part # 3371302250 and castle nuts part # 165686.

Bought the first one two months ago as the bearing had failed on my trailer . Might be random chance because the brake pads were old within a month of putting on the new hub. I felt a pulsating sensation and the brake pads came off of the brake shoes, hoping it’s unrelated body full brake assembly in hopes of this not being a continuing problem. But 1000 miles on the bearing it is seated and is cool to the touch after driving

Not completely sure if it is the brake assemblies or the drums but the combination of this and dexter brakes was a waste . Do not buy . They work enough to stop spinning the wheel on a jack but that's it.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I do have a solution to offer in that I recommend breaking in the brakes. The break-in process applies to both manual adjusting and self-adjusting electric brakes. Its necessary to do this step when you install new brakes because it allows the brake shoes and magnet to seat into the drum. We have a FAQ about adjusting the brakes that covers breaking in the brakes very well.

The drum was poorly packaged and the box was completely destroyed. It took longer to get than previous orders because it was sent USPS.

Super snug fit and had to practically beat it on, but it’s on. Also packaging could have been better. Box arrived opened, bearing cap and rubber seal missing. I blame UPS for the most part, but there was only one small piece of tape on the top of the box.

Everything easy to assemble(save your nut sand washers from axle) hard part was taking off old rusty outdated parts from old brake assembly. Otherwise easy to replace and set up. Also replaces tires and set pressure to 65psi.

- Are Trailer Spindles with Zerk Fittings EZ Lube SpindlesYou have an EZ lube style spindle based on having the zerk fitting. They aren't all the same but it's the same as the Dexter kits you mentioned. It's actually a common misconception that you are supposed to use the fitting to push out all of the old grease with new grease.
