These trailer brake assemblies act as part of your trailer's hydraulic braking system. A hydraulic trailer brake actuator is required for these brakes to function.

I am giving the parts a 4 star rating because they didn't come with the 7/16-20 nuts needed to install them mine were rotted so I couldn't reuse them and a 7/16-20 is a really hard size to find. Otherwise the assembly fits fine and looks good,and good quality. Now the shipping was a diffent story I would give the shipping 3 stars their kitting process needs improvement. I ordered them April 28th they didn't kit them and ship them until may 11th even with them listed as in stock some kitting improvment is needed. So make sure you are not in a hurry to receive this kitted item. Allow about a month for delivery.

When I looked on the website, this item was listed only for 14, 14 1/2, and 15 inch wheels.
I talked to order desk, no help. I have 13 inch wheels. I took a chance and ordered. These fit my 10 x 2 1/4 drums perfectly. Nice anti-corrosive finish. My previous brakes installed with 7/16-14 bolts, these came with 7/16-20 pressed in studs. It would have been nice to include nuts and lock washers to ease installation.

Installation and adjustment was straight forward, mounting bolts lined up perfectly as did brake lines. Brass bleed screws sealed well, and I now have functional brakes on my boat trailer again.

Missing the hole for water rinse tubing, missing the 4 - 7/16 x20 fine locking nuts, studs are to short to add a lock washer, one of two brake cylinders had a poorly tapped out brake line hole, had to buy a tap to salvage it. Not a bargain, cheap China junk, should have purchased locally thru trailer dealer offering American made. Amazes that etrailer does not at least advise you of such, usually pleased w/ etrailer, not so much now.

Perfect replacement for my Eagle trailer with a 3500 pound axle. Wish the nuts came with the brake kit as they are not ordinary nuts to have laying around your shop or at least tell you nuts aren't included. 7/16- 20 nuts are needed.

A 3500 lb axle would use a 10 inch brake assembly like the # AKUBRK-35 hydraulic brake assemblies you mentioned. If this is for use on a boat or snowmobile trailer, I'd recommend the # AKUBRK-35-D due to the improved corrosion resistance provided by its Dacromet coating, stainless steel springs and aluminum wheel cylinder housings.

Although there may not be any visible pitting they could still be warped which could create more issues further down the road.
